This was my first trip to Hawaii and I wanted a tattoo to remember it by. This was also my first tattoo. Garret did my tattoo and I could not have been more impressed. He was very professional and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. Â He even called to follow up and make sure I was happy with it. It was worth every penny spent. I recommend this place to anyone getting a tattoo on Kauai island. Especially if it's your first tattoo. They do a great job of making you feel comfortable. Very impressed and if I ever get back to the island I will definitely stop by here again for another tattoo.
Review Source:This was our second trip to the island and my husbands second tattoo from Cory who did an excellent job as usual. A few weeks prior, I  ran my first full marathon and wanted a tattoo to remind me of the training and how I got through it. I hadn't quite figured out what i wanted up to that minute sitting there while we were waiting for Cory, but all if a sudden it came to me and i was ready to do it. Justin Blake was available, and i had just seen him tattoo an older gentleman with a special circumstance with great kindness and professionalism, so with that and  on Cory's recommendation that Justin does great work, I had him draw it up and it looked fantastic. His work is sharp, clean lines and sized just right for me. I would definitely return for more work from Justin and highly recommend Kapu Tattoo.

Review Source:I decided to give Kapu Tattoo a try for my first tattoo after reading all of the previous positive reviews on google. Â Since I had a similarly positive experience, I would like to pay it forward with another positive review. Â I was on Kauai for my honeymoon and had an agreement with my new husband to get a tattoo of his name on me, as he had already tattooed my name during our engagement. Â I was incredibly nervous and anxious about the whole ordeal. Â We met with Cory towards the beginning of our honeymoon. Â I felt very comfortable around him and his confidence eased my anxieties, so we made an appointment to get it done the day before we flew home. Â The day of my appointment finally arrived and Cory did a wonderful job. Â He was professional and listened to our requests on slight changes to the design. Â I loved what he drew, it was exactly what I had imagined. Â He tattooed (is that a word?:) me with efficiency and accuracy. Â It looked amazing and didn't feel as bad as I had imagined! Garrett and Cory are as good as it gets. Â I've spent a great deal of time on the island ( I have family there ) and I've checked out every other shop as far as I know. Â There are some ok shops and some hilariously bad tattoo shops on Kauai. Â Kapu isn't one of them. Â Since opening a couple years ago they've set the bar quite a bit higher for tattooing on Kauai.
I've been tattooed by Garrett and Cory on multiple visits to the island. Â They are on par with any high end, full custom shop you'd find on the mainland. Â
Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have to get a shitty tattoo. Â Book your tattoo appt here and you won't be disappointed.
there are no lack of incredibly talented artist on Kauai. most of them don't work with the medium of skin. Garrett and Cory at Kapu tattoo are talented and they have put in the time. I have seen Garrett  featured in magazines in from japan as well as Australia. I have also seen multiple large piece as well as vacation ink come out of that shop. all have been fantastic work. vivid. clean, professional, and creative. you can talk with both of them to form create what your looking for within the realms of what possible for long term quality. these guys just rock and they care about their clients. i have four tats from Garrett that I'm extremely happy with. they might not be the cheapest shop in town, but i pay for their skill and bedside manner.what are you going to remember ten years from now!

Â He even "freshened up" a tattoo I got a couple of years ago, giving it new life and pleasing me to no end. Â Worth every one of those five stars. No doubt the best shop on Kaua'i, if not Hawai'i. Very clean and  professional shop with talented and knowledgeable artists. Garrett and Cory have such respect for the art and for Hawai'i. This respect shows in their amazing custom Polynesian designs. I had a large custom poly design tattooed by Garrett and the care and detail he put into it was remarkable. I can't wait to add to it. Review Source:Kapu Tattoo is awesome! Garrett did an amazing job on my tattoo and really helped me put my loose ideas into a beautiful original piece of art. He did really cool Japanese style waves and excellent detail with the whole tattoo. Garrett has extensive knowledge and experience with tattoo art. He was very friendly and patient and the shop was very clean. No problems finding parking. I definitely recommend this place to get a tattoo!! =)

He took all the time he had to help me find the exact picture that looked just like my dads old trophy and adding that little something special (he actually listened to stories about my dad and tied in another thing I didn't think of). Because of him not only do I have a beautiful piece of art that I get compliments on daily but an amazing reminder of my father that will be with me forever!
