I had someone do the outline of my tattoo at a different location, and came here to Aloha Tattoo to finally get it filled in after waiting so long. The people were friendly, and talked to me the whole time I was getting inked. That was cool. However, what was not cool was the result. He made the font thicker, and went over the original outline. The font style had 'thorn' like points on certain areas and he went over them to 'disguise' them I guess which I never asked him to do, nor did he mention he was doing so.

My friend went in to get her self-done tattoo redone, and it turned out looking like she just did it herself, not a professional. The lines were not clean at all.

I also got my belly button pierced here, and the woman working there who pierced me did it well, but was not very friendly, and forgot to give me my free belly button stud/bar/whatever.

Based on the other reviews, and my other friend who came out with a nice tattoo, do not go here to get inked unless the owner is helping you.

i like my tattoo from here a lot. but ---do not get a tattoo here unless it's from the owner...he does the best and is very personable and friendly!! now my experience---nice tattoo...worth the price....

when i went there i waited 1/2 an hour...which is understandable being that they had appts. the owner had some apprentice guy working for him and said he did good work.

that dude didn't say anything to me except greet me. now...i had $150 cash on me and before we started i asked him to quote me so i could pull out more cash. the guy said $180 and that they had an atm machine...and i can pull it out there. (it's right in the shop) so i get the tattoo done 1/2 way and tell him i want to add to it and he said he will call me when he draws it up. i go to the atm to pull out the rest of the cash and the atm says---------out of cash------------

wow...so i tell him i have $150 cash like i stated earlier and that i can run to the atm at the gas station. the guy says it's okay i'll just take the $150. i told him okay since i was going to see him again within the same week and give him a big tip. i called back 2x asking about my tattoo and when i can schedule to come in. the guy never got back to me and never answered my messages.

i saw him at dnb's a week later with a very young/hoochie mama girl. he's like 30 and she must have been like 18. anyways besides the point...that guy was fucked up...now i have a half tattoo. not my fault your atm ran out of cash. i was about to give a $40 tip at the end since i usually give only $20 but he lost out!!!!

however, the owner did my friends tattoo...and it was very nice. he does lots of nice sailor jerry type tattoos.

Safe, clean, and friendly!!  The owner has a lot of great stories to tell while he is inking away at whatever body part you have decided to tattoo.  The place looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside, but the inside is very clean and tidy.  There are lots of sketches to look at, and the owner has all the latest technology to help make your tat look as small, big, and/or realistic as possible.  I will definitely be going back here if I decide to get a second one!

I'm glad this was where I lost my tattoo virginity, and you would be too - so go check it out next time you are in Kailua!! (P.S. I hear they also have a place in Honolulu if you can't make the trip out to Kailua - which is about 30 minutes outside of Honolulu without traffic)
