I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews on here because this was not my experience. Â This was my first tattoo and I was hesitant. Â My friend and I showed up late on Friday night (without an appointment) and he talked to us about what we wanted, showed us tons of examples and made an appointment for us first thing the next morning. Â David was not pushy and explained how it all worked. Â
The artwork in his shop demonstrates that he's a real artist. Â It shows in the time and effort he put into my tattoo. Â He took a concept and a couple of drawings I had brought in and combined them, along with his own artistic touch to be a fantastic tattoo. Â I'm so happy I did it, and so happy I found his shop.
I dont have experience with pricing tattoo artists, but this was one time I did NOT want to shop for a bargain. Â I think that his pricing reflects the quality of the work he does and I feel like it was well worth the price.
I would recommend him to anyone!
A tattoo is serious work, it's for life you could say. Â Doz cares enough about his customers to insure that they will be as happy as possible with the choice they have made by taking the time to help put together exactly what it is they want. Â I showed up at his shop with practically no idea what I was hoping to walk away with. Â His patience and helpful suggestions helped to get me a tattoo I see in the mirror each morning and smile. Â
The studio has a great vibe, Paintings cover the walls (all done by Doz) and if you are lucky enough to here the man talk about his work, you'll find that the thoughts of Doz run deep.
I've been able to get cheaper tattoos in my brief history as a human canvas, but the experience and quality I received at Ambrosia sets the bar for any and all future tattoo expeditions.
Thank you Doz!
After months of checking out Doz's website. I finally made the call and had Doz works on my tattoo. I am so glad that I found someone so talented to work on my piece. His artworks are amazing and it is quite an experience looking at his art while getting tattooed. Doz is very insightful and I feel like the conversations we had was refreshing and challenging at the same time. If you are looking for high quality work, then go see Doz!
Review Source:Doz didn't leave a good impression on me. Our personality's not clashing was one thing, but he took advantage of me when I got my first tattoo. He does good work but rips off high school students getting there first tattoos. i got something fairly simple on my back and a couple years later i got the that tattoo touched up added onto and another tattoo for the same price and same quality of work. Every artist i have ever spoken to has told me how badly i got ripped off and now looking at what my other tattoos have costed from different artists I know for sure that I was definitely taken advantage of. I will never go back there and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Again He does great work, but he honestly isn't very fun to be around and will over charge you.
jealous, bi-polar, angry selfish people. Â Someone just pointed this out to me in the info section about the business. Â Apparently anyone who doesn't like the establishment is considered to be this type - I find this highly offensive and makes me very glad I didn't get work done there.
Review Source:Negative experience. Still sticking with me. I wish I had said something in response to the negativity.
I walked by the shop on my way home. The only way I knew it was open was by the hours posted because the windows were completely covered with stickers and stuff and I was unable to see in.
So I walk in. It's a tiny room, paintings all over the walls. Doz, "tatguy", is sitting in a chair in the corner. A guy is cleaning the toilet in the background.
Silence.
I look around and take it all in and Doz finally asks if there is something he can help me with. (I think he was gnawing on sunflower seeds - tacky). No smile. Not welcoming. I smile and say something to the effect of how I was shocked there was a tat shop in Redmond and wanted to check it out. He asked if I had any tattoos. I said," a couple". He asked if there was anything he could help me with? I said, "ya, there was something I wanted him to look at".
I showed him my cover up and said I was hoping to get the color redone. He didn't move from his chair or position to see my ankle. I contorted myself to show him.
I explained it wasn't the color over the old tat but the color that was around it which I wanted brighten. He said he couldn't do it. I asked, was it because the color wouldn't take or what...we went back and forth a couple times to clarify why he wouldn't/couldn't do the job. Finally, he said that there was nothing he could do. Awkward. Basically he said I'm not interested in the job.
I guess the hour worth of work wasn't worth his time. OK. So I left. A**h***l
I first met Doz when in need of a replacement lip ring. After spending some time in his shop and talking with him, I was comfortable with letting him work on me. He is an exceptional artist with meaning in his work. He also doesn't beat around the bush and maintains a professional demeanor. There's no handholding along the way but he will guide you through the experience.
Doz was able to create the base image for my tattoo in a matter of minutes. Along the way he offered creative insights and ideas to further enhance the piece. His work turned out nearly identical to the stencil and in short I got what I wanted, where I wanted it and I felt comfortable with the entire process.
This was my first tattoo and I don't see how it could have gone much better. I will go back to Doz for future ink work and recommend him to anyone who is looking for an artist or isn't satisfied with their current one. 5/5 stars!
