I have quite a few tattoos, and all but two are from Griffen Gurzi. I've been going to him since he was an apprentice.
His work is clean, Unbelievably detailed, and my tattoos from 2 years ago, look like they are brand new. (I sunscreen them like crazzzzy)
The shop has an interesting vibe..... Like most shops do. Someone's girlfriend is hanging out, someone is crying because of how much it hurts (wimps) and it smells like green soap.
Griffen is very sanitary, and follows all the proper protocol for safety and sanitation. No blood borne pathogens here!
Also, tip your artists! Thanks Griff!

Uncle Josh was in town, so Jerm and I rolled in and got a couple tattoos.

I had told Josh what I was looking to get, sent him a pic of a basic idea and by the time I got to the shop, he had my piece drawn up.

He had a light touch, was quick, and listened to what I wanted.

After he finished mine, he worked on Jerm's tattoo.

Both of our tattoos look great and I look forward to getting more done by him next time he's in town.

AWFUL! The people in here talked to me like I was an idiot because outwardly, it would appear I have no tattoos when in fact under my jeans and shirt I am quite tatted. I went in asking for a white ink tattoo (yes I undertand what happens to white ink over time, which  I told them!) and instead had 3 guys talking down to me, one of them yelling, convincing me otherwise. When I asked how much my two word small white phrase would be on my wrist, the reply was "at least $150...." what?!!? RIDICULOUS! Anywhere else, $80 max! Rude rude rude!

Went to american vintagefor the second time yesterday to get the book/castle done on my arm. Both times I have been in there, everyone has been very professional and friendly, and the shop has been spotless. Griffen did my artwork both times and I am thrilled with how it turned out. He was very methodical with his sketch, took his time, and stuck true to what I wanted. I will absolutely be going back there for my future work, since I found a great shop that offers a quality product at a very reasonable rate.

my name is Jami, I'm 27, and this is my AV story.....

I had decided to wait to get tattoo because I wanted to be old enough that I would pick something good that i wasn't going to hate a week after I got it and be stuck with it for the rest of my life.

Tyler and i became friends about 3 years ago and from the moment we met he started dreaming up all these neat-o things he could ink me up with. I was hesitant at first being the little ink virgin that i was but eventually he talked me into it......And boy am i glad he did!

Tyler has done 2 large pieces on me and i am in love with both of them.  I have learned that he is always right about the colors and size of tattoos.  Not a day goes by that I don't think to myself  'Dang I need to get my butt into AV and finish my sleeve!'.

American Vintage Tattoo is clean, organized, and awesome inside! everyone there treats you like a long time friend and even like a member of the family while you are getting your work done. i have a great time when I'm there and I'm sure you will too. All of the artists at AV do great work and i would suggest going there for all of your tattoo needs!

My tattoo artist Bud recently started working at American Vintage Tattoo.  I've followed him thru a couple of shops and am glad he has a spot here now.  The shop is clean, great artwork on the walls, and the staff is very cool.  The guys in this shop know what they're doing.  I have other friends that have artwork on their skin from all the artists at this shop and it's definitely top notch.  If you're thinking about a tattoo stop by this shop.  Professional, great prices, friendly and laid back.  I gotta call Bud soon, I'm itching for more ink.  I'm gonna have to get something from Tyler someday too.

So my BF and I just went in a few weeks ago and had an exsisting piece of his worked on (color and shading added). Chef worked on him and did an AMAZING job!

Everyone was friendly and the price was great! It was $80 and well worth it. We have another guy we go to who we pay $150 an hour/minimum, regardless of size, so this is going to be another place we definitely return to get our ink done.

    Thanks guys!!

The atmosphere is friendly, laid back, and professional. The work that comes out of AVT is amazing. Tyler does all my work and I am constantly getting stopped and asked for cards or where to go and I always point them to ATV off Katella. Tyler's colors are bright, vivid and don't fade. His Line work is awesome he will work with you on an idea and turn it into a masterpiece. I have some pretty weird requests and no matter what I come up with Tyler always rocks them out. All the guys at the shop are RAD but Tyler's my man.

After checking out AVT right here on Yelp, I decided to check it out for myself. Shop is clean, which is always a good sign, haha. Spoke with Tyler & we talked out what I wanted. Simple script across my hip. With in 10 min he had drawn up what I wanted. He was totally cool & made every little change I asked for. The end result was exactly what I wanted. He did kind of work with me on the price, but we'll touch on that later. The tattoo itself took about 20 min or so. I was impressed by the his work...it's very clean lettering. I really like a "get down to business" type of artist & that's exactly what Tyler proved to be. Seeing pictures of the rest of his work, he does incredible color/shading as well.

In saying the above...((AND I'm sorry Tyler!!))...I do feel like I was slightly over charged. The size of the piece & the time it took to me didn't equate the $100 I shelled out. Tyler explained that the area I was tattooed in also had something to do with the price. Although I am receiving compliments on my new piece, 98% of my friends were slightly shocked as well when I told them what I paid. Obviously I paid it...but I'm seriously hoping that WHEN I return in the future for more work he will be a little more kind to my wallet.

All in all, no regrets. Tyler did a great job & works out of a bitchen shop. Looking forward to my next visit already!
