So I've had an idea for a tattoo since last year, but the thing with me is that I only get 1 tattoo every birthday, I guess to pace myself and to add a little more meaning for me being patient. Â
Anyway, I went to a place in Frederick with my sketch and it's just a bunch of chinese characters. Â I had 2 big ones and 6 smaller ones. Â The large ones were about 12"x12" with the smaller ones being about half the size and was going to go on my neck. Â This place in Frederick told me that it was impossible to get the smaller characters on my neck due to the ink bleeding into each other, thus wouldn't be able to show each stroke of the characters clearly. Â With that, I just had them do my 2 big ones.
My friend then told me to goto Baby Blue Tattoo. Â I thought that because this shop in Frederick told me it wasn't possible to get done what I wanted, that no tattoo parlor would be able to help me. Â Man, was I wrong. Â My friend referred me to Jon and all I have to say is THIS Â GUY IS A BEAST! Â I told him that the other shop said that it wasn't possible, but he looked at my design and said that it's definitely possible, but that he just had to make the characters a little bit bigger, NOT MUCH though, talking about a 3-5% size increase I'd say. Â
He took my design, placed it where it needed to go and an hour later my vision was on me. Â What was once "impossible" was now a reality. Â The shop in Frederick has 6 years of experience on top of Jon at Baby Blue, so that's telling me that Jon's just got the technique to pull off what others with years more experience can't. Â
This is the ONLY place I'm ever going to ever again.
I came to Baby Blue tattoo last week thinking about a few different tattoos that I had drawn a few years back but just never really had either the gall nor the Yen to get! So I found this place based on 2 pretty awesome Yelp reviews, but since I don't have a car, my friend drove me out to University Blvd in Silver Spring which took about 20 minutes.
When I came in I was suprised to see how clean and tidy it was! Usually tattoo shops are infamous for durty durty facilities and the durty durty attitudes of their employees! Not so at Baby Blue. I spoke with the owner, Cathy a Asian lady who was really helpful. She even gave me a few options with different prices based on ink/no ink and med/large size. Over the years we've all heard those tattoo horror stories, i.e. crooked tattoos, hepatitis, nasty facilities, vicious unexperienced artists, fading/greening ink, and just overall horrific jobs!
When I saw some of the albums at Baby blue I was amazed and really surprised to see the level of both creative, artistic, astonishing tattoos that they do. And I felt really comfortable dealing with them just because of how nice they were to me! I went to a few places for estimates, and I'm not going to drop names but they were all very very unpleasant, obnoxious, and haughty to say the least! Just down right rude!
I decided to go with the medium size, and I made an appointment for yesterday. I got their around 2pm. Jon who was my tattoo artist was amazing! He did such an amazing amazing job! I LOVE IT! Its just what I had in mind! I'm so so so happy and elated that I actually was lucky enough to find such a cool, clean, and professional place.
Not only do I give them 5 stars but I recommend them all the way! You won't be sorry! Besides, if you're getting a tattoo you might as well be happy with your lifelong art, so do the right thing and go to the right place....BABY BLUE TATTOO!!!
