Just a week ago today I got my first color ink here by their dude John Hill. And out of my six other tattoos, this place was absolutely the best tattoo experience I have had.

    - The artists are all super friendly. The shop has a very open-room atmosphere, the shop's friends were just standing there and hanging out with me and all the other dudes while they were giving tattoos. It was almost like a sitcom. I have never laughed so hard and enjoyed myself so much in a shop.

    - I got a basically three inch by five inch color piece that only cost $100. If any of you know anything about the gouging prices of tattoo shops, you know that that is just about the best price you will ever find. Ever.

I can not say enough good things about this place. Honestly just phenomenal. I absolutely plan on coming back and I encourage everyone in the Flint area to give these dudes a chance.

    Negative:

    - If you are looking for only place on the internet to find their work, you will never find it. I encourage the shop to update their Facebook page ASAP to let everyone see all the amazing work they do. People often find tattoo shops via Facebook and Google these days and if they can't find any updated pictures and pictures in general they may write your shop off--WHICH THEY SHOULDN'T DO--because you guys are amazing.

This is my go-to spot for tattoos when I'm in Michigan, Jay Dowd is an incredible artist and I wish I could ship him out to Philly whenever I want work done. He is consistently good, he doesn't take a million breaks and works fast and efficiently.

I always refer people to this place when they ask me where to get work done, it's worth the drive if you don't live in the Flint area.

I have been a fan of Consolidated for about 6 years now. Most of the piercings I got there only cost $20, jewelry included (with a few exceptions such as my industrial). The piercer, Steve Filpansick, is absolutely great and makes a lot of his own jewelry. I have also had 4 tattoos done by Chris Hornus of Consolidated and they are all beautiful. VERY decently priced, too. I highly recommend Consolidated Ink & Steel for all of your body art needs if you are in the Flint metro area.
