My son and I recently had some piercings done at Emerald. Â I'd purchased a Yelp deal which caused a bit of confusion when we paid, but they figured it out. Â Definitely call ahead if you're planning to walk-in, we went on a Saturday afternoon and they were unexpectedly closed. Â The next day they told us they'd closed early due to lack of customers. Â The place is VERY clean, more so than other tattoo & piercing shops I've visited. Â Pricing is great (even without the Yelp deal.) Â The staff was personable and made us both feel very comfortable.
Review Source:I came in on Saturday to get my septum pierced. Â I was immediately greeted by a friendly lady who got me started on paperwork. Â The shop seemed busy when I came in, but Rob gave the young lady he was currently tattooing a break and squeezed me in. Â The shop is clean, comfortable, and decorated well. Â They have a large selection of jewelry in the lobby. Â I did not think that anyone gave off the "cooler than thou" vibe you can get in some shops. Â
Rob pierced my septum exactly how I asked, and it is dainty and feminine(if those are words you can use to describe a ring of metal in your nose). Â All of the instruments he used were fresh out of their autoclave pouches, and I noticed he took care to keep everything sterile. (Dropped something, and got a new one, which seems like common sense, but I've seen a popular piercer in Stockton drop a ball on the ground, pick it up and screw it on without a second thought.)
On Sunday night, one of the balls randomly fell off my barbell, but I was lucky enough to find it and replace it.  It happened again on Monday morning.  I have to flip the barbell up while at work, and all day I was haunted by the thought of accidently inhaling it.  Monday afternoon, I headed back to the shop and had it tightened.  For some ungodly reason it fell off again while I was making chicken tacos with my in-laws.  0_o  We headed back to the shop and arrived as they were closing up.  (Literally rolling down the door.)  I apologised and offered to come back, but they were insistant that they could fix it then.  This time, Rob replaced the ball with a different one, and let me tell you, that baby isn't going anywhere this time!
These guys are awesome, friendly and have great customer service. Â I really, really, really appreciate that you went out of your way to make sure I got what I needed, and for not treating me like a pain in the ass. Â :)
I'm extremely picky about my tattoo artist which is why despite have a full leg sleeve concept that I've wanted to do for over a year now I've been holding off. After seeing three random people with ink styles that were exactly what I was looking for and all three of them having had their ink done by the same guy, I had to go meet him and check out is portfolio.
Jesse Allison's work is absolutely amazing. His attention to detail and skill as an artist are outstanding. You're not going to get a deal here but when it comes to tattoo work, do you really want an artist that's willing to cut you one?
It is not like me to leave a review before my work is completely done but I'm so happy with this shop and artist that this time I feel justified in doing so.

One of the holes on my ears closed up. Went here to have it redone. Found them to be really friendly, knowledgeable & quick. I had never considered the dangers of using the staple like piercing equipment before and how blood might get on the eqiupment that is never cleaned, but now do as a result of my conversation with my piercer.
The only issue or downiside I had was that when I paid extra for the crystal stud instead of the steel ball that comes with the piercing, I assumed it was for a pair and not just one. I wouldn't have paid extra since I have both ears pierced and only one crystal stud. The stud is just sitting in a jewelry box collecting dust now & was not worth the extra cost.
I have been going to Emerald Tattoo every since I first heard of them in Lodi. Every member of my family has a work done there with Red. My son just turned 18 and got his first tattoo with Josh just last month. I am a big fan of small business and when it comes to tattoo work Emerald Tattoo is it for me in the Lodi, Stockton area.
I have been referring people to Emerald for past couple of years and have never heard a complaint. One of the things i like most about this place is how real Josh and the guys are there, my family and I have always felt at home and been very pleased with all the work we have had done there. If you are looking for a serious artist, this is the place to go in my opinion.
