On a whim my best friend and I decided that we needed some more body modification. I called on a Saturday and Jim got us in on Sunday.
Jim drew up my tattoo design and got to work on it. I am very pleased with his work. Jim is awesome and has a sweet style.
I would go back!
His piercing is very clean and lovely as well. It was a bit funny and sad to see my best friend get her septum pierced.
I went to Epiphany a few time in the last few weeks to explore getting my first tattoo. Â James was very helpful to me explaining the entire process and how it works. Â He helped me to design a tattoo that met what I was looking for in meaning but also something very stylish as well.
I went and had the tattoo done Saturday evening. Â He was great! Â Amazing workmanship and the very confident in his work. Â He took the time to explain the after care instructions and how to make sure that I took care of it based on the environment I work in.
I would recommend them to any one that is even considering a tattoo.
Let me give a 100% true and accurate review. The work is satisfactory for images, not so much script work. The owner started off nice enough to earn new business. Had trouble getting a drawing done by another shop and he ensured me his shop wasn't that way; and he bad mouthed that artist because he knew him (keep reading if you want to know what hypocrite means). The first tattoo piece on my back went very smoothly and offered drawings in a appropriate time frame to make changes before tattooing.
The outside of my half sleeve started the same way.....so far 2 for 2. Then trouble began in paradise. Drawings for this point forward were worked on an hour before tattoo session. Also, owner tried to OVER charge me for 4 and half hours, I had to correct him that we only tattooed for 3 hours...WOW, what never on this guy! So, if you go here....WEAR a watch! Â Finally, finished the half sleeve (black and gray) after 4 sessions and approximately $1,200 dollars later.
Still, I wanted the work to be similar, so I wanted to stick it out and get my left arm done (another themed half sleeve because maybe the guy was having personal problems.) This is where REAL DRAMA came in because the owner wouldn't draw this drawing. I finish my right half sleeve in the third week of December and had an appointment to start left arm in February. First week in January, no drawing but not expected because appointment in February. Â Second week, gave the guy tons of movies for his shop....still no drawing, still okay because still a ways off. Third week in January, still no drawing complete. I started becoming a little annoyed at this point because especially because I had showed such loyalty. The fourth week I showed up TWICE, once with my girlfriend because of a military going away at Dry Dock and the second time with a friend. BOTH times...no drawing. I had talked to the owner and explained thoroughly that I wanted to see a drawing before the day of tattooing. Finally, the fifth week I received a drawing.....boy this was TERRIBLE (still have it saved on my phone if anyone doesn't believe, I could seriously do a better job)......this thing was Garbage!!!! He threw this together in about 3 minutes. I had to cancel my appointment because he couldn't so a drawing.
After all this frustration, he contacted me and wanted to get this done right. I'm think good, he does care about his business and wants to make things right......Wrong!!!, but keep reading. He met me at Dry Dock and had a couple of beers and took down my ideas on a piece of paper, we were back on track....or so I thought. He said' "I'll get you a drawing this weekend," and we shook hands. Weekend came, NO drawing. Monday came, NO drawing. Tuesday came, NO drawing. Appointment was on Wednesday, I had to be a no show because guy couldn't keep his word....he had OVER a month and half. I gave this guy 5 total chances to make this right. TOTAL Â UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Especially after bad mouthing another artist (ex friend of his) for doing the say thing. This guy is the definition of hypocrite. It was way worst because the other artist only did a small tattoo on my back and we really didn't have loyalty with one another. The owner of Epiphany and I did a lot more work (half sleeve and back) and still treated me like this.
This owner doesn't care about your business or what you say to other people that get tattooed. I texted him and let him know that I would go somewhere else. I also stated that he could keep the drawing deposit. He replied back "Gladly," only one word in a text. This guy had no problem keeping money that he didn't earn. LISTEN people, there are a lot better ways to spend your hard earned money and it's best if you go somewhere else because of this owners business ethics....his business will fail. I have found and received much better service since. Guess what....I finally had an EPIPHANY and it was to start at a professional place where business is respected. I've started work with the new guy and really look forward to work with professionals that care what clients think and reps.
Dirk is an amazing artist. I would trust him completely to do any tattoo. I have a half sleeve designed by him and he helped me with a cover up as well.
Dirk is very professional and the shop is clean and sanitary.
My husband also has an incredible half sleeve done by Dirk. His color work is vibrant and he does very clean line work.
My experience at Epiphany was amazing! They were willing to work with me, despite some health issues I have, and I felt extremely comfortable talking to Dirk about the design I had thought up. He added a bit to it and it's now an amazing piece of art. I could not ask for a better tattoo experience, even though it was my first one, and I will only go to Dirk at Epiphany for as long as we're both in the Denver area.
