It is ok. My piercing is still hurting and swollen but it is a lot better then my friend who got his ear pierced at this place. They hit an artery and he was bleeding everywhere. He had to go to the hospital. I have also heard multiple horror stories!

Wasn't too sure about this place but my friend and I were in a little bit if a time crunch as I was moving out I state. Wow I'm super glad we went here! She was pierced by Stefan, and I was done by Zach. Both men were super friendly, very easy to talk to, clear with after care instructions, and personable. Prices are decent and ship is super clean.

I'm used to places like this (10 tats deep!) but this was my very first piercing. I got my cartilage done. Zach saw that I was nervous and REALLY made the difference for me. He was quick and informative and made me laugh a lot instead if focusing on my freaking out (haha.)

These guys are way worth checking out and they're right on the avenue so it's not a big hunt for some upstairs shop or something. Try them!

i seriously wish i would have gone here first!!! Good customer service!! Very knowledgeable and helpful!!! I really feel like stephen went above what other piercers would do to do the job right even if it was slightly inconvenient for him.Very happy customer right here!!=) OH AND IT WAS $25 CHEAPER THAN THE HOLE THING!      Below is my story:

Several months ago, i went to get my nose pierced. i had set something up at Evolution Tattoo, but was thrown off by another shop (The Hole Thing) a block up and ended up going there by mistake thinking maybe i heard the name the wrong. I got my nose pierced at The Hole Thing. after six months, i had to take it out b/c it was always extremely inflamed and wasn't healing b/c the jewelry was way too big. it was constantly snagging on anything and everything b/c it stuck so far out from my face. Also, the post was always sticking out my nostril, causing it to tickle to the point i was sneezing all the time and i actually ripped it out on reflex on more than one occasion. Well, after i took it out and let that heal, i decided to give getting my nose pierced another shot.

I went back to The Hole Thing. I vaguely explained what i thought the issue was in hopes of getting a hoop so it wouldn't dangle out of my nostril and poke out my nose and snag on stuff. As i explained, the girl just looked at me like she wanted to laugh and went in the back and came back out and said they were all out of jewelry...it wasn't meant to be.

Then i remembered seeing Evolution Tattoo and i went there. the guy i initially spoke to was very nice but informed me that children weren't really allowed (i had my 2y/o son w me). Although it was shop policy, he tried to think of ways to somehow accommodate me. I explained i lived a half hour away, so he went got the actual piercer to come speak to me.

The piercer's name was stephen. He was very nice and agreed to go ahead and pierce my nose. I told him my past issue with my last nose piercing and that was when he informed me that it sounded like the jelwery was too big. He explained that he could actually fit the jewelry to fit my nose so it didn't bother me and i didn't have get a hoop if that wasn't what i wanted.

I can't say what a difference this piercing is from the other!!!!!!! I don't even know it's there!!! it's amazing not having something constantly tickling the inside of my nose!!  He noticed right off the bat that i had really small nose, which i feel like like any professional piercer should have seen and made the appropriate adjustments, and then he even asked me to come back in a week so he could make it even smaller after the swelling (if any) had gone down so i had no issues. he did all this w/o even bashing the other shop, even though i had totally opened the door for that.

    Highly recommended!!!!

This place gives me a wrong 'vibe'. I went in to look through the portfolioes whilst my fiancee's mother was getting a tat done. The portfolios were nothing special and haphazardly put together (imho).  They also had binders of flash out. Some was tattoo Johny stuff, everything else was just badly photocopied old line drawings.

The art/flash on the walls was top notch, but the little details about the place turned me off. It had the feel that  a few 'bros'  knocked together several remodels over the course of a few different weekends. The floors were mismatched, the ceiling had been painted over BADLY, the tables were not straight nor level. Everything just felt half-assed.

I was going to pass on this shop until I saw the tat my future mother-in-law got.  It was horrible. The line thicknesses were all over the place, nothing was straight, the gaps were inconsistent, and areas that should have lined up didn't.

It went from a pass, to a stay the hell away.

Two stars, only cuz the place was clean/hygienic and it appeared that they were at least trying to be professional.

Worst customer service! I went there 4 years ago and had a piercing fixed by Stephan, and he was really nice and helpful so i brought my cousin who was visiting from out of state to get a tattoo. it was a really simple, easy design. When we got there the guy, Brent, told us they were taking drop ins, so she showed him when she wanted and he was SO rude. He acted way to cool for school and made her feel dumb and really uncomfortable. He then told her that he couldn't do it till 4. (3 hours later) why didn't he tell her that when we asked if they were taking drop ins?!? Then quoted her 75 dollars and asked for a 25 dollar deposit, the whole point of us "dropping in" is so that we didn't have to make an appointment and pay a deposit!. She said OK and we left. We decided to check out "faith" tattoo (even though we already gave evolution a deposit) to see if our experience would be different and it was, by a lot! they were really nice, made my cousin feel way more comfortable and took her design and made exactly what she was looking for without making her feel bad, and tattooed her right then and there. They also quoted her 60 dollars instead of 75 (evolutions quote). Evolution can keep our 25 dollar deposit, it will be the only business they will ever get out of us again because i will never go back there, nor will i ever recommend them.

I've been into this shop many time over the last few years.. Have had three or or four different peircings.  At the beginnig, I always dealt with a very nice girl (who I don't believe is tere anymore). And most recently I've been dealing with Stephen, who I really liked as well.  However, a few times I've gone in to switch or replace rings and I've had to deal with a younger brown haired guy, who I noticed always had a bit of an attitude problem.  Always rude, very dismissive of anything I had to say...  Always tried to avoid his assistance.  I got my nose peirced a few months ago by Stephen, but was having some serious reactions to the jewelry... I followed all of their treatment and care advice, buy the keloid kept getting worse and spread to the inside of my nose.  When I went in for help, I got stuck with the kid who has an attitude problem.  He was incredibly rude, didn't let me finish any of my sentences, didn't even look at my infection and insisted that i was the problem and not the jewlrey. When I tried to show him the large keloid on the inside of my nose, he claimed he saw nothing. I walked out, and went down the street to another tattoo shop.  They took out the ring, and replaced it with a different one.  The keloid fell off the next morning, and my nose feels much better.  Exactly what the little guy at Evolution said would not happen.  Bummed out, because I liked most of their staff, and I've done a good amount of wok with them... Will definitely never return because of this guy.   Not sure what his problem is, but he always seems to have one.

I got my first two tattoos by Jimmy here, and he was super cool and they look awesome. I recently went in there cause I was looking to get another tattoo. Jimmy no longer works there and they wouldn't tell me where he went. They just tried to push me into using one if their artists. It took about 5 minutes on the internet to find out he opened his own shop with Jake Yarnal and Cody Holyoak, both if whom used to work at Evolution.

Evolution's talent is gone, if you want an amazing tattoo from an awesome artist go to the boys new shop Aces Over Eights in Petaluma.

Coming from a girl who's seriously afraid of needles, this place is great. I went to get my tongue pierced, and the entire process was super quick, Stephen was professional as well as respectful, and the entire procedure from the time I walked into the shop to the time the barbell was sitting in my tongue was only about 15 minutes.
They seem to really know and care about their profession as well as their clients.
And I'm not exaggerating, I HATE needles.

In 2009, My mom purchased a 100 dollar gift certificate at a charity raffle for my boss's daughter. After about 8 months, I finally wrestled it away from her to use it. It was about to expire in December so in November I called to see about making an appointment. The artist for who the gift certificate was for no longer worked there (bummer!). I got a call back and was told that any artist in the shop would honor it for me (awesome!). I went in to get a design drawn up, and ended up making an appointment with Mike.
When the day for my appointment came, I had been double booked in that time slot, but no big deal, I came back later. Mike was very nice and the design he drew up was beautiful. The tattoo was fast, fairly painless and is gorgeous!

I really appreciated the fact that they honored the gift certificate that the artist who no longer works there DONATED, and didn't seem put out about having to do the tattoo in the first place since it wasn't their gift certificate.

Also, the tattoo came out 100 dollars less than my quote was, so I ended up leaving a 60% tip.

Great guys, can't wait to go back again.

    Side note:
I also got tattooed by Cody H. at the Save The Ta-Ta's poker run, when he charged $20 dollars for a pink ribbon tattoo and donated all proceeds to the cause. I thought that was great.

Cool thing about this place is the happy hour piercing where you get a deal on your piercing. The piercer was nice but it was your typical grungy not the friendliest tattoo parlor. Another cool thing that the shop does is pierce you with a longer bar to account for swelling and then change your jewelrey for a smaller bar when the swelling goes down free of charge. The only thing I wasn't asked was which jewelery I would want. The only option I had was plain silver. I would have liked more options.

I got my bellybutton pierced here and it was crooked and when I went in to talk to the lady she told me "oh it happens" not the advice I thought she was going to give me.. I've seen some great tattoos come out of this shop so it's a shame that the piercing isn't up to par. Not only was the job not done well the response and the fact that they would make me pay 20$ to get my belly button repierced they said I had to have my same jewerly that I was originally pierced wolith, I don't know too much about body piercing but I'm pretty sure they are supposed to use new jewelry not my old one.. Yes I would think twice before I get anything pierced here!

Im so annoyed by these people.  I have been to every shop in sonoma county (almost) looking for a decent quality new nose ring (my stone fell out).  I have two kids, and have been trucking them along with me all day.  Ive been to about ten shops in the last several hours and havent had any problems.  I know kids arent allowed in tattoo shops, but most people are understanding and provided they stay close to me and behave, Ive been fine.
The guy at Evolution was way rude about my kids, didnt have any interest in helping me, or even finding out what I wanted or needed.  Told me to go online if Im looking for quality.  Who says that?!  Then told me I needed to leave because kids arent allowed.  I get it, they dont want to get in trouble for having kids in the shop, but dont be rude about it...no one else was.  Suck it up, make the sale, and let me leave!  I will never go back to this place for tattoos or piercings again.  Nuff said.

All I can say is Cody, Cody, Cody. Don't even think about anyone else. He is extremely professional, clean, and has amazing insight from my doodles to actually placing it on my body. Everything is your decision, but I always ask his opinion. I have had other tattoos done by other people, but from now on I will never go anywhere else. I have done three with Cody and they all look amazing. He is very popular so don't be in a hurry to get an appointment.

I am just going to say, I love Cody Holyoak!  Great person, tattooist, artist and just awesome to work with on a tattoo piece.  Evolution is extremely clean,  highly professional with great people working there that can help make you're tattoo experience a good one.  Cody is in high demand and you may have to book out a few weeks, but it is worth it.  I plan on having another piece done by him this summer, the shop is centrally located in Santa Rosa and I had no problems parking.  Motorcycle and dog friendly.
