I checked out the website before my  visit because this was my FIRST tat.  No appointments necessary and they take Visa!  I explained to the first person what I wanted and she turned me over to someone else.  Just as the second person was helping me find the artwork I wanted, he turned me over to a third person.  I found out later that my third choice was a "visiting" artist and didn't seem to be as professional as I would have expected.  After sitting there in pain for over two hours getting the two family tributes done, they tell me I have to go find an ATM machine and come back to pay.  Parking isn't that easy at this location and by then I was fed up and felt like just going home.  I went back to pay but that's the LAST time I will go there.
Review Source:I recently got a tattoo here from Andy, who was excellent. My idea was very specific, as it was Chinese characters. Andy made sure that everything was to my liking, while adding his own artistic interpretation to my design as well. He was very good with the actual tattooing and extremely efficient. Almost a week later, I am very happy with how it turned out. Would go back again!
Review Source:Ben is the best. He drew a peacock feather on my foot it was my first tattoo and I love it. I am from San Jose and I was going to school up there. He drew it up and had it done within an hour and a half. He touched it up for me in a couple of months. He only charged me $120! I might just go back up there for my next tattoo! Review Source:Got my vintage ship wheel done by Andy today. I love the work, he really took the picture I gave him and adapted it to make it even better. I am very picky and he happily re-drew the design for me when I wanted a few changes and offered great advice about the placement. The tattoo ended up costing way less than I expected, and I couldn't be happier with it. I would definitely come here again!
Review Source:I went into Faith because my brothers girlfriend went there and got a tattoo by Ben and it was absolutely amazing! When I went in it was a really nice environment, everyone was super nice and friendly and answered all my questions which is nice because I can be super shy. Max ended up doing my tattoo and I am in love with it! He made sure to incorporate everything in the drawing I brought in and make sure I knew about any of the things he took out, and when I was getting tattooed he made sure I was comfortable. It was a great experience and super reasonably priced for the amount of detail and effort! I know i'll definitely come back and I recommend coming to Faith 100%

Review Source:My cousin and I went there after a bad experience at a different shop, and i am so glad we did. The shop was really nice and clean, right off the bat we were greeted (i think by max?) he was so friendly and listened to my cousin and drew up exactly what she wanted, with no judgment. The owner Justin Shaw came out and was interactive, friendly and down to earth. they really made us feel welcome and they even quoted us less then the other shop. I would recommend anyone to go there for a tattoo. There is not just amazing talent there, but some really great customer service.
Review Source:My friend and I went by the shop this a couple of months ago. We had mike do matching script tattoos as well as another line based one for myself. I felt comfortable not only in the shop as well as chatting with Mike. All the tattoos healed immaculately and he was nothing but professional and gracious throughout the experience. Review Source:this place rules. awesome work and great guys. you wont get that ego attitude here that you can get at a lot of places. everyone in this shop is down to earth and do excellent work. I have a foot tattoo they did that was great (it was even the 'you get what you get $40' one). I also have feathers on my arm that big frank did this past weekend, and he touched up a botched awful heart tattoo of mine and made it amazing. their prices are totally affordable and reasonable too. unfortunately I live in LA so this spot is an occasional treat (maybe fortunate..id prob have a lot more tattoos and be a lot broker if it was closer!)
oh its also next to a cheap dive bar so you can have some strong drinks after enduring some pain :)
I am surprised I hadn't given Faith Tattoo review yet-- because these guys and this shop are more than note worthy.
The atmosphere at the shop is inviting, the guy at the front desk is sweet, helpful and to the point. The artists are also super approachable and really aim to please. I've worked/witnessed work by Ben, Justin and Andy-- and I can't say enough how great their work is. Also, the new shop is HUGE, so you don't feel cramped-- which is nice when you consider some shops.
This last Friday I wanted a couple filler pieces for my sleeve, and Andy was able to accomodate-- he was really open to working with the spaces I had left, and made each of my tattoos fit just right, and with his own personal touch (which, I love). Of the 3 I got, the Whiskey Barrel is by far my FAVORITE! He NAILED my black line-art (think Wood-block print) style, and the detail on such a tiny tattoo (1" x 2") is KILLER. He's my go-to artist at this shop, from here on out! [see photo]
My husband got a Moonshine Jug on his foot by Ben-- and not only is Ben fast-- his hand is gentle, but effective-- not heavy at all. Upon completion-- my husband immediately started to make plans with Ben for his chest piece.
By the end of the night, we were all laughing and talking about our next tattoos with everyone in the shop. I really felt welcome, and I can't wait to go back!
I had my forearm tattooed by Ben spur of the moment.... and I love it. I walked in with a general idea and no appointment. Ben drew up a design based off my idea, stayed late for me and did an amazing job. He was SUPER fast and didn't have to stop a million times to take breaks! Review Source:I've had two tattoos done at Faith -- both by Jesse. The first was a redo/addition to an old tattoo; very simple. It was quick and healed perfectly.
For my other tattoo, I had been plotting a special custom tattoo for a while, and finally decided on a (sort of weird) request: a red-crowned crane with phoenix tail feathers. I brought a few pictures and talked with Jesse about what I wanted, he said okay and I made my appointment. I didn't get to see the drawing until the day of the appointment, which made me nervous, but he'd captured my vision perfectly. I requested a small addition (a short quote) and he incorporated it in right there, no problem.
The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. A little brash, but friendly. But it IS a tattoo parlor, right? Jesse was great about making sure I was getting what I wanted and courteous while I was getting inked; checking in with me multiple times to ask if I was doing all right or if I needed a break. At one point he asked me about the color, and I told him I trusted his artistic judgment, and he made great calls. I love my tattoo.
Kudos all around. Great experience and talented artists.
I really do not understand how anyone could have a bad experience at Faith. I've been going there with my friend for years for her tattoos and finally got my first one in April.
All the guys are nice and professional, but also hilarious as well. They make you feel comfortable and are really easy to talk to. My friend gets all of her work done by Ben and he did mine as well. He's such a relaxed guy and definitely knowledgeable about what he's doing.
I plan on going to Faith for all my tattoos for as long as I'm in Santa Rosa. It's a great place.
They are one of the few tattoo shops open on monday, my friend's day off and we stumbled into this place. We walked in and it was very clean and the guys were so nice! They fit us in and drew up our stuff.
I was stupid and only had a picture on my iPhone and Justin drew it right off my phone, perfectly!! He was quick, conversational, and professional and I would recommend him to anyone especially if you want something old school.
If I had more ideas I would go again the next day!

I just had my very first tattoo done by Jesse and I just want to say he is an extremely talented and super nice guy!!!! Â So patient with me.... the place is clean and the table was comfortable ...... his drawing was exactly what I wanted and his execution of the ink was perfect...... I am so happy I waited this long .. I turned 42 this past May and I couldn't be happier.....His calm demeanor helped me a lot... thanks jesse!!!!!
Review Source:I've been to a few different shops and Faith is the best hands down. The atmosphere is great, the shop is always clean and they're always very friendly. Each artist has their own individual style and all of them are extremely talented. I've gotten all my work done by Ben Cheese and I have nothing but the best to say about him. His attention to detail is absolutely phenomenal. The first time I went in he did the most amazing job on a piece of music. The lines are immaculate, the notes are perfection and the design is gorgeous! The second time around I had brought my idea to another bay area shop and after waiting for 15 minutes for help at the front counter was essentially told my idea would translate like crap and that they wouldn't be held responsible if I ended up displeased. I'm so VERY glad I opted to try and snag an appointment with Ben because not only is the service at Faith a million times better, Ben turned my "un-translateable concept" into more than I could've ever imagined. I'm already planning a trillion more tattoos and Faith is the only place I'll ever go again!
As far as specifics, Ben always makes sure you're comfortable and is really good at reading your body language, ect. He checks in with you regularly to make sure you're doing okay (don't need water, a trip to the bathroom, ect...) and has a very gentle yet firm approach. I've honestly never left suffering much pain at all and all my ink has healed perfectly.
So yeah. Go to Faith. See Ben. You won't regret it.

Ben's work is immaculate, all my tattoos have come out better than anticipated, he has a way of taking my concepts and turning them into something far beyond my comprehension. Review Source:With Faith tattoo my loyalty resides. From its conception this was going to be a great place. these are real fucking artist. The bottom line is Faith will never put out a shit tattoo. They eat, breath, and live art 24/7. This is a shop that is setting trends and keeping sharp the tattoo zeitgeist. They are devoted family people with a personal touch. I have several tattoos from both Justin and Ben, all of which I am very fond of. If you are looking for approachable Faith is a class act.

The shop is great- greeted upon entrance by staff & they are genuinely nice guys. They don't make you like an "out of touch asshole" (even if you come in with the most off the wall idea).
I have gotten 6 tattoos & 1 touch up by Ben. Working with Ben is great. I call or come in with an idea and he just takes off with his creativity. I get so many compliments on my tattoos, a lot of people say the same thing: "are those new?" because 3 years later the tattoos still look THAT good. I've sent my wife, my sister, my brother in law, and 6 friends there, everyone was & continues to be happy with the work done.
Bottom line- Faith tattoo is the best.
Well sorry there, April, but I was tattooed by Ben when he and I both happened to be in Buffalo not too long ago and i have to say, i had a lot of fun and my tattoo turned out great. Â Never been to Faith tattoo, nor have i ever been to California but what the hell, Ben was a lot of fun and i would highly reccomend him to anyone. Â Maybe you should take better care of your healing tattoos.
Review Source:I have been going to Jesse for about four years now and every time he does work on my arm it is great. I have floral work all over my upper arm and all I have to do is show him pictures of what I want and he maneuvers the flowers into a great ensemble for my arm. I have received so many compliments on my arm and I tell everyone I know to go to Faith. Recently Jesse did some work on my forearm (3 dandelions) and everyone adores them. I simply love the work that he has done and have never gone to any other tattoo artist. And to top it off all of the guys in the shop are awesome. My friend needed a cover up on his upper back and Ben did a great job, so I don't know what that troll's deal is that previously wrote a review. I always suggest Faith to everyone I know that is going to get a tattoo. They are awesome artists, personable, and really take into consideration what you want.

Â He was nice when I first got there and told him what I wanted but then when I can back and saw the drawing he had come up with he got offended when I asked him to change a few things. After all, its going to be on MY body! Â That should have been when I walked away but I decided to stay and see if his attitude changed. Â It did, and we had a good conversation while he started applying the ink. Â I was pretty pleased with how it turned out, at first, but then it got a really bad scab and became pretty scarred in a few parts. Â The color is not even close to what I wanted and is even faded. Â I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants real art put on their body. Â A tattoo artist should be exactly that: an artist, and when someone doesn't know their craft to perfection they shouldn't be doing it, especially when it involves branding people for the rest of their lives.
