Wow is what I have to say. As soon as my husband and I walked in we were greeted. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I went for my tattoo,which was my first, by Henry. He is amazing!! I went there just knowing I wanted a name but no idea any design. He drew up a beautiful design. They talked to you like you are a friend, not a customer. I let Henry know it was my first and he made every effort to make me comfortable. He let me know if I needed to stop I could. And did a test line to let me feel how it was before he started. He is a genius. I felt like family. I will always go to Henry for my tattoos. This is the best ever spot to go to!!

I went back to Fat Kid again, looking for Henry. Â Long story short, I ended up with Henry and he worked a MIRACLE! Â I seriously am so happy with the huge fix up he did on my foot. Â I cannot say enough positive things about this guy. Â He has a great sense of color, and what is going to work on my skin tone. Â I'm only in the healing phase (done 3 days ago), and I'm already getting so many compliments! Â The pain I had to go through for this is so worth it. Â My husband is now excited to go and get a tattoo from Henry for himself so, so look for us in a month or two!! Â I think this might be my guy for life =)
Oh also, the new shop looks great. Â I like that I wasn't cut off in a little booth, and could be entertained by the other guys in the shop. Â Once again, it was a very comfortable experience for me to be in there with those guys.

I found this shop by chance after being screwed over by another tattoo artist. I called FAT KID went in and within minutes I was getting work done. Mike is an amazing artist. He makes you feel comfortable and keeps you entertained while getting your work done. I have gotten two pieces done by mike and I am extremely happy with them. I have referred several people that are thinking of getting more work done. I referred my roommate to mike and shes already gotten two bigger pieces done and is going back for a third! Mike and everyone at fat kid are friendly, professional, and just fun to be around. I wouldn't get work done by anyone else :)

Best shop ever. Nice guys awsome work for great prices. Mike did a cover up for my wife that blows everyones minds every time they see it. Everyone there does great work right down to there apprentice SALMAN i let him do a major fix and touch up tat today. He left his glasses at home so blind he still did A BAD ASS JOB. I will let this guy pratice any time. Bad ass tattoo artist.... tattoo master in the making. U GO SOMEWHERE ELSE UR WAISTING UR MONEY!!!! Review Source:Disappointed that I had to look elsewhere to get my tattoo worked on. I recently went here after work because of great reviews. Initial impression was great. Friendly staff and someone said they would take my project on. I was told by the artist I could expect art work for review either the next day but at the latest the following day. Positioning the work to done this weekend. Â By day 2 I still had no response so I ended up calling the shop (2x) and asked if the artist could be tracked down and provide an update. May have just been bad timing but setting expectations and not meeting them...

Review Source:I took my daughter in on Christmas Eve as present for Christmas. I was referred to Shawna by one of the girls at the mall at the piercing store. I called in advance to ask a few questions and Shawna was extremely polite, professional and detail specific. I rolled in the next day with my child in tow and the shop is just the right size, clean and all staff was nice. My daughter got a monroe and belly button piercing and I got my nose pierced. Shawna kept everything clean and sterilized, walked us through the entire process even when our anxieties rose from nervousness and provided complete detail as to after care and follow up if we had questions or wanted help with our initial changing of our jewelry she said to come on in! She is awesome and her pricing is beyond reasonable. I can't speak to ink but was watching some dude in the chair getting inked and the detail looked good from where I was standing, but again - it's not my ink ;) But for piercings, I absolutely recommend! Review Source:I was recommended to go to Fat Kid from a friend since i had a bad experience at 454 getting my first tattoo. My friend took my there late one night around 1130 and was greeted at the door and got to talk to O'Henry one of the artists. i showed him a picture of what i wanted and he said he'd draw it up and we could set up an appointment. A week later i went in and he had the drawing all done up better then i could have imagined, he fixed the size up to my arm and we got started. since it was a slow day he took his time and they put MMA fights on, i was one of the few people in the shop so the other artists kept coming up and complementing on the progress of the tattoo and we all joked and messed around. I ended up being there about 4 hours which at most places means $400 but they had given me an estimate of $200 so he said he'd take between $150 to $200, needless to say i tipped a lot extra. I couldn't be happier with my experience and my tattoo ill be planning another trip in soon. O'Henrys definitely the artist to go to!
Review Source:Went in for my first tattoo. I met Henry, who was more than willing to answer any stupid questions I had about getting inked. I felt really comfortable and scheduled an appt. At the time of the appt, Henry walked me through the process. After stencilling my design, he took time at placed it it precisely were I wanted. 2 hours later, I have one of the best tattoos I have ever seen. Henry, great job! Review Source:The owner is awesome. He pierced my several times but he had a girl WAY back when who pierced my conch crooked and I was quite upset about that, obviously it's a difficult piercing and I did not want to get it re-pierced. He later told me that she was an intern and was eventually fired. I have seen MANY people come out of that shop with amazing tattoos, so far I've only been pierced there and have been happy.
Review Source:I called friday morning when they opened and asked if I could come in right away beause I had an appt to be at an hour later. Â That morning was the only day I had available to get my tattoo and it would leave me the longest recovery time before going back into work (I work in a hair salon). Â It was a tiny tattoo, so no big deal. Â They got me in five minutes later, had me out of there, like, 20 minutes later with EXACTLY what I'd wanted. Â Mike did my tattoo and he was really nice. Â Really friendly.
When I walked up to the shop I was nervous. Â I'd gone to Frontline and 454 previously to talk about the tattoo and ask some questions and was treated very poorly. Â I wasn't even greeted at either place, they looked at me like I was an idiot when I asked questions. Â It was like they assumed that I should know as much about tattoos as them. Â I'd never gotten one before.
I had a great experience here. Â Everyone was chill and they were all talking and joking and it distracted me from the pain (which wasn't bad at all anyway). Â When I get more tattoos (I plan to) I will be going back to Fat Kid.
**PIERCINGS** My 2 girlfriends and I wanted to get some peircings at 10pm on a Saturday and we were wondering where to go, a friend suggested Fat Kid Tattoo in downtown escondido. We walked in to a small shop and was greeted by Shauna the peircer, we all told her what we wanted and she said its 40$ for any standard peiricng (everything except dermals, genitalia, and nipples) and that included the jewlery! What a great price!! (i got my conch peireced for 65$ in another shop so I was already sold) Since we were all getting something done she said she would do them all for 100$ instead of 120$, which was even better. I was first, i got a little nose piercing and she was very thurough, made sure I liked the placement and made me really comfortable, it was qucik and painless. Needless to say I will DEFINATLY be going back there for any peircings i might want to get in the future!
Review Source:I worked with Stevie O'Dell and my experience was very positive. This was my third tattoo, and the most meaningful. Stevie created some very lovely, original artwork and the finished tattoo is exactly as promised. The atmosphere was very friendly, the bathroom was clean and not smelly.
Stevie (and Spencer) made us feel welcome and the time went by fast. I've seen other work done by this guy and he is first rate. Other, repeat, customers raved about his work to me while I was there and showed off.
I will be returning to the shop for any future work and highly recommend it.
Stevie is the only tattoo artist that I will allow to ever, EVER ink me. Â Over the last 4 years he has done a full sleeve, cover-up and re-inked my back piece. Â
His color choices are complimentary and his style is OVER THE TOP! Â 5 Stars for him is surely not enough.

Called in the morning to get a quote for a piercing. I was given an awesome quote over the phone, I came in to the shop and it looked great! Everything was clean and neat. Within minutes I was on the piercing table. Totally professional, walked me through the whole thing and better yet the piercing was completely painless!!!!!!
If you need a piercing definitely go here! Out of a my piercings (past and present) this was the best!
This is the only place my wife and I get our ink done. Faces constantly change there, but as long as Stevie O'Dell is slinging ink there, we are there. Besides, our "one" tattoos are works in progress and it would be stupid to up and go elsewhere...after all I live just two blocks away from Avalon II.
Stevie is fair when it comes to price.
I get a text from my friend saying that him and his wife are going to get tatted up at 8pm to cruise to watch, so my first thought was "Hell yeah I'm taking my camera so I can catch her in pain" being that this was her first tatt!!
We get there and she's already in the chair and looking nervous as hell, I laughed and said it doesn't hurt just kick back and enjoy the ride its your first tattoo it will be OK. After all, if us woman can give birth we can do just about anything right? Her reply was no this is a different kind of pain.................haha
I met Stevie and got to chat it up with him about tattoo's, he's such a kick back guy and so so funny!! I watched him work on her ankle and got to pick his brain abit about what I have been looking for he said he'd have no problem coming up with something! I'm so stoked! He's a family man and talked to her about his wedding and general stuff to try and get her mind off the pain she said she was feeling!!!
I'll definitely go back here to get my next tattoo and I'm glad I got to spend an hour and a half there getting to talk to him about his work! I'd recommend Stevie for his tattoo's any day!!
