(Just for reference I got my tattoo another location (colfax freaky's) but the artist "Scotty" works out of ths store (Thorton store)
I went in to get a tattoo for an invent called tats-for-a-cause where they were trying to break the world record for tattoos given in a day as well as they were doing it for a good cause (cancer) as you could pick whatever color of cancer ribbon you wanted.
I elected to pick the color Lime green for non-hodgkins lymphoma cancer. I came in and went to pay and their credit card machine was broken so I had to go to an atm to pull money out for the tattoo (causing me a 2$ charge from the atm). When I got back i got prepped for the tattoo (shaved the area I was getting it) and then he started the tattoo without asking any questions. As I felt thi was a pretty standard process I figured I didn't need to ask any questions.
He started the ribbon outline with the lime green and then on the second side of the design he all of a sudden started doing it in black ink...... I ask what color that was cause at first i thoguht it was DARK green instead of hte lime green for the cause I wanted.
He replied" oh no it's black, guiness book of world records says the tattoo has to be two colors not 1, sorry I thought you knew that."
I guess it was my fault for assuming when I said I wnated the ribbon lime green that he would actually do that instead of adding other thigns before asking me!!
There was nothing I could do at that point so I let him finish the tattoo outline thinking I was still going to get it shaded in. Instead he started cleaning up after the outline and I asked about shading he said for $20 I can come in to his store and he will finish that" wasn't aware that the 30$ tattoo for a cause was an outline thta looked like a prison tattoo...... the lines weren't smooth and at two different points they were crooked our curved in and then back out again.
Needless to say I didn't wnat him touching me anymore with anything permanant so I left. I then have shown 5 people today my tattoo and all of their reactions were similar... "you paid for that", "that looks like prison ink." "why is it crooked?" "What the hell is that suppose to be".
So needless to say the rest of the day I have been embarrased to even show my tattoo to anyone and this piece of "art" or "work" is permanant!!!
So all day I have been going crazy trying to figure out what to do. I luckyily visited a tattoo shopclose to my house who someone recomended because they used them for a cover up.
I went in and 15 minutes later the artist had used sharpies to shown me what he could do to the tattoo and in those 15 minutes he made the tattoo look 10x better than the original tattoo and now I cannot wait for the first one to be forgotten and covered up. unfortunantly I have to wait till the first one heals to get rid of it.
I wish I could post pictures on this site so you guys can see for yourselves that I am not over exagerating or that I am telling the truth but if you find me on facbook please feel free to ask for a picture.
In short DO NOT TRUST FREAKYS OR SCOTTY, this is a permanant abomination on my body that i'm lucky to be able to cover up.
I guess some blame on me for not asking questions more even though i thought lime green ribbon was pretty self explanatory but when it comes down to it no matter what the color ended up a curvy outline that more so resembles prison work than a tattoo you expect from a legit shop, as well as half assed work is no excuse!
