I am 62 and a tattoo is something I have wanted for at least 5 years now, so just decided to DO IT! Jason was great. The parlor is great. Very professional. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is cuz I have extremely limited experience in the tattoo world. And it is a whole world. I can't believe how my getting a tattoo has really opened up communication with complete strangers who become my friends when I show them my foot!! Awesome experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world and it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet!
Review Source:Great place, I got a arm with tattoos turned into a sleeve here by JC and I am completely happy with it even though it is not finished. I have also taken two two people here to get tats from JC and they are very happy with their tattoos. Clerk/apprentice/toilette cleaning guy  is kinda annoying but JC is the bomb! So 5/5!
Review Source:I went there on Thursday about 5 to look into getting a neck tattoo done. They were strict on their shops rules of neck tattoos but luckily I had enough ink already. I had an appointment scheduled the next day at 11 with Elvis. The guys there were cool and funny and very nice to me. Elvis was an awesome artist and did a great job putting my neck piece together with a traditional heart, two different scripts, a banner, rays of color and the whole thing color bombed. They charged me 300 because its a neck tattoo and other spots on the body would be cheaper, but it was well worth it as the lines were clean and consistent, color even and bright, and elvis got my neck busted out in 2 hours. I was very happy with my work and Elvis made sure to let me know to come back for touch ups after it healed. I would highly recommend this place, they are pricey but you will be happy with your work. After all it is on your body forever!
Review Source:we were looking for a tattoo shop to cover up a small existing tattoo. Little did we know 5 hrs later and $500.00 later we would have it covered up.  understand things take time, but this tattoo was not very big and honestly....$500!!! I just about died when he came home and told me. Another point is that you tell people/cleints AHEAD of time what things are going to cost...please lay it out for them. Yes we should have asked but  it is your job to tell people the cost and time. I am not impressed having 2 tattoos myself, same size paid less.
Review Source:I had walked into this tattoo shop, not knowing what to expect, never hearing of them before and I asked for something and they drew it up immediately and I got my favorite tattoo there! Since it was a couple years ago, I don't remember the name of the artist but he was amazing and they were reasonably priced and their customer service was outstanding! :) I'd highly recommend them!!
Review Source:Dale Crawford = The Man,
Jay Betz = Awesome Pricing,
Frontline Tattoos = the only place for me to get ink.
Seriously the Vibe in this shop is actually cool, Most shops you get a weird vibe but these guys are really cool. Super clean shop, very professional and when its time to work , I know Dale gets down and cranks, I let him freehand on me and was not disappointed.
I highly recommend this shop for anyone considering getting ink. If you are looking into another shop, do that but then stop into Frontline and talk to the guys here, honestly an awesome team.
I look forward to ongoing sessions at this shop.
Came here today for my first tattoo! A bit expensive, but the quality was worth it. My artist was Jason; I gave him my concept art, he printed it out, then made a sketch. His sketch turned out to be better than mine, so I went with it. I can say I'm 100% satisfied! Great quality, and he was very chill to my friend and I.
I wasn't aware you're supposed to tip your artist so I hope this makes some sort of amends.. Jason at the Vista office is legit! If you're sure of what you want, he's the guy to see.
After receiving referrals and reading many online reviews, my son chose Frontline Tattoo Vista for his first tattoo. We walked in on a Friday afternoon with a drawing that stemmed from months of planning/thinking.  Jesse was up front and honest about the cost/time it would take etc. It was a lot more time and money than we had anticipated. We left to discuss what we learned and decided to go back in to request options to alter the design to fit my son's expectations, budget  etc.  This is where JC stepped in.  He was straightforward and patient.  He took my son's design and promised a design of his own within 24 hours. He delivered and the design was exactly what my son was looking for, yet he was somewhat nervous about the pain. JC spent another hour with him-discussing options (do the outline one day....come back for the shading another day etc).  Not once did he lose his patience or make us feel like the tattoo rookies that we were.  Another day later,my son was on the table (FOR NEARLY 4 HOURS) getting a beautifully designed drawing on his ribcage.  JC was tenacious, yet sensitive while he applied both the outline and the shading.  He was funny and upbeat. . He was thorough in explaining the after-care and what to expect. I would highly recommend JC and Frontline Tattoo for anyone wanting a first tattoo.  They made the experience far less daunting.  Thank you JC and all of the artists at Frontline Vista! I doubt we'll be back anytime soon (4 hours on the ribs! Ouch!) but we will definitely recommend you guys any chance we get!
Review Source:I just got two new tattoos from JC.... probably the best tattoo artist ever..... not a prick like someone wrote below.... He was great with making my other tattoo work with the new one and was extremely honest which is probably hard to hear for some people but with the amount of work I had done I wanted an honest opinion and that it what I got. Â JC was amazing and so was Sarah and one of the other tattoo guys. Â They were really welcoming and supportive of my decisions and JC's work because it was the bomb!!!! I have finally found an artist who is great at what he does, a shop that is super nice and huge and played some AMAZING MUSIC....
JC is affordable and great at what he does in no time at all make sure you make an appointment and talk to him about what you got so you all can be happy with the final result like I was. Â
Also JC is great at explaining how care for your tattoos and keeps it simple and to the point!!! And he is extremely clean and takes great care of his space which is nice also he makes his own tools and they are super cool i just want one for the design look ...SO if you guys want the best experience ever go to FRONTLINE tattoo and ask for JC you will not be disappointed unless you are just hard to please and should probably just stay home and spare everyone else the trouble of dealing with ya!
THANK YOU JC MY TATOOS ARE AMAZING!!!!! Â Cannot wait to get more from you in the future!!!
My friend and I walked in here two days ago with the intention of each getting a tattoo but we left feeling disrespected and belittled. One star is too good of a rating for this place.
The guy at the front desk was alright but once he realized that both my friend and I were newbies (it was pretty obvious by our questions) his demeanor completely changed and he became condescending and apathetic. My friend explained what he wanted and the guy brushed it off and claimed it would look "sloppy." So instead, my friend said that he wanted a simple black band wrapping around his upper arm. My friend showed the guy a picture of something similar, and the guy called his coworker over to get his opinion... the other worker (who I later learned is JC) looked at the image, distorted his face into a disgusted frown and said "why would you ever want that???" My friend and I were floored. He was a judgmental prick and treated us as though we were lucky to even be in his presence let alone have a tattoo done by him. But my friend and I remained polite the entire time and thanked them for answering our questions. We made up some excuse and left.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Disrespectful, pretentious, condescending. Don't waste your time here.
I highly recommend Frontline to anybody! I had a tattoo on the back of my neck done by JC...my first color tattoo...and it came out beautifully! Jesse has done many of my piercings as well. The shop itself is big, super clean, and has a great atmosphere. Though I haven't had work done by all of the staff, I have chit-chatted with them all and they're all great, laid back, professional guys with great senses of humor! Their prices are spot on in both their tattoos and piercings, and all of the guys (especially Jesse) are extremely helpful! You will not be disappointed!
Review Source:My husband and I were walk-ins on a Friday night just looking to get each others initials on our ring fingers. We were in and out within a half hour for $140 total. Although it seems pricey for 10 minutes of work each, I understand shops have a minimum no matter how simple the work. The artist was cordial. I am sure it wasn't his most exciting work of the day, but did it with professionalism and a smile.
Review Source:After the tattoo that I got my son for his 21st birthday, I decided to get another one for myself. Â Since Doug had done such a good job, that's who I went with. Â He's a great artist who drew up exactly what I wanted from the three photos I brought him. Â The final result far exceeded how good I thought it would look! Â I will be hoping to see Doug for all my ink.
Review Source:I am from Wichita, KS, visiting my daughter and wanted to get two tatoos. Â We first went to the Frontline Tatoo in Oceanside. Â The people were not very helpful or friendly. Â They essentially ignored us.
So we drove to Frontline in Vista. Â Jesse was extremely helpful and professional. Â He suggested we come in the following day at 9 am and talk to JC who was coming into work on his day off. Â We arrived the next morning and JC and Lane greeted us immediately. Â Lane was extremely helpful in all manners related to the cost and time needed to complete the finished product.
I had ideas for the two tatoos I was going to get. Â However, JC went beyond any expecation I had of what my tatoos would look like. Â His artistic renderings are amazing!!! Â The entire staff at the parlor worked together, critiquing JC's work prior to him beginning the final design! Â It's wonderful to see artists working together to create perfection for the customer.
My daughter had planned to get a tatoo the same day, however, JC had spent the entire day on my tatoos. She also had to be at work at 7 pm and didn't want to feel rushed. Â Since I am scheduled to return to Wichita on Wednesday, and my daughter really wanted me to be there when she gets her tatoo, JC rearranged his day off (again) and childcare schedule to accomodate our needs.
JC worked on the design after hours and texted her the design which was beyond her expectation due to it's uniquess. Â He is again coming in on his day off to render her ideal tatoo. Â What artist would commit to the time and sacrifice to please a customer? Â If anyone wants a tatoo, please go to this parlor, they are "the best of the best". Â I will be back in July to get another one on my shoulder!
Friendly, professional. accommodating and courteous!
Just got inked today. Gary Gerhardt was extremely nice and an easy going guy. A week ago I walked in the shop, gave him an idea and he ran with it. A Week later i was already getting tatted. I had confidence in his ability to come up with something and he came through. I could tell Gary loved doing what he does and I couldn't be anymore pleased with his work.
I like that as it being my first tattoo they were really laid back, nice guys, and were just really personable. I didn't feel any pressure nor unwelcomed at all.
I will definitely recommend Frontline in Vista to anyone; definitely worth the money invested.
I have been here a few times. Â My first time was at the Oceanside one and it was about 4 years ago and the artist was nice and talented but when I tried to go back to that artist he had left without telling any of his clients, so I never ended up going back to the Oceanside one. Â My first time at the Vista shop was more recent and I was a walk in however for some reason at all of the Frontlines either Vista or Oceanside most of the poeple that work there have some sort of a complex issue.. and make it somewhat uncomfortable. But even though I was a walk in they had someone there to do my tattoo right away which was nice however you could tell he was not really into it or he was just having a bad day Idk. Â Which doesn't really make the tattoo experience too fun. Â However the tattoo came out good and I was happy. Â So for my next tattoo I went back there to see if the same artist could do it since it would be on the same arm and I like sticking with the same person. Â I spoke with him gave him my art, my info and the day I would like to come in since I was going to be on vacation. We agreed and he said he would send me over the artwork for me to approve. Â Waited, waited, waited, nothing... never got a call nothing. Â I talked to the shop manager who said he would call him... still nothing. Â I tried again same story with the shop manager. Â So after like two weeks of trying to get a hold of someone I decided to go with Power Tattoo which I was originally looking at anyways.. they are a really reliable shop with AMAZING artists and no complex issues. Â I actually ended up being happier that everyone flaked at Frontline so I could find the best artist at Power. So thanks Frontline for turning me away to another shop!!
Review Source:I went to Frontline for my second ever tattoo. Â I saw JC and he did a fantastic job! Â I absolutely love what he did. Â I went in with something very simple (boring even) in mind. Â JC suggested something a little more interesting without completely shooting down my original idea. Â I decided to go with JC's idea and I'm SO glad that I did! Â The tattoo is great and I love it!! Â Plus (and here is the cherry on top) Â he's really nice!! :)
JC also touched up my friends tattoo. Â She'd had it done elsewhere and it needed some detail. Â JC turned her existing tattoo into the most beautiful tattoo! Â She's so happy with it! Â It was amazing to watch too. Â He has a great eye. Â He's a great artist! Â I'd definitely recommend going to JC!!
I'd been driving past this joint for month's with the intention of checking it out. Finally I'd gathered enough scratch to afford a new piece, so I headed on over. Although I didn't have an appointment, they were able to accommodate me about an hour and half after I showed up, not bad.
My piece was done by Doug. Doug's an all around cool guy. Just relaxed as hell. Everyone else I met that works for the shop, though I didn't get their names, was also quite cool as well. I will certainly be returning to this establishment, once the jar is full again.
