I went on a Saturday to get my nosed pierced. When I walked in, I was stared at by George and a guy sitting down- no greeting, just stared at. I just thought it was humorous, laughed and said "hello, I'm here for a piercing" haha.
While they prepared the room, the guy at the counter was hitting on me. (The last thing you need is to feel uncomfortable before getting a needle stuck in your nostril).
The room was prepared very quickly and I told them I'd like to wait for my friend. The piercer said "oh, come on, it will only take a second". I felt rushed (again not something I need to feel).
My friend came and I was brought to the room. The deal for Saturday is $20 for any piercing which is a great price! However, you do not get to pick the jewelry and they only have one style. For nose, it's a diamond stud, but it's a bit large for my liking.
I had mentioned that I would like to close my eyes throughout the entire process as I'm not a fan of needles and if I see it, I might panic (exaggerating- but still). He said "well maybe you shoudn't get this done). He wasn't very comforting at all.. Nonetheless, the experience wasn't a big deal and was done in a minute!
Some pros: The piercer was pretty cute (great smile), inexpensive, his technique was WONDERFUL (he used the technique where he puts a cork up your nose and the jewelry goes in RIGHT away.. it takes a minute or LESS). Great piercing job!
Cons: The place itself looks a bit sketchy
Decide for yourself weather you'd like to come!
George has done two tats on my husband. Â The first was when he was at Jade, the second was completed tonight. Â OMG! Â George is fantastic! Â His artwork is amazing! Â My husband got a beautiful phoenix, coming out of flames, its just gorgeous! Â If you want a tattoo artist that takes absolute pride in all their work and gives you a safe and comfortable experience, stop in and talk to George and his staff. Â You won't find anyplace better!!!
Review Source:Just got another tattoo over the weekend done by George. Â It was smaller than most of my other art, but its probably one of my most meaningful tattoos. Â It came out really nice and I'm glad George was the guy to do it, since it was for a friend we both knew that passed away RIP Sebastian Gil. Â Starting to run out of space on my body.
Review Source:I've got to say that this is one of the best experiences I have had in receiving a tattoo. I came to the shop seeking a cover up and that is what I got. He covered up an old tattoo that I regretted getting when I was 17 and you can't even tell there was something there before. If you want quality work, a no bullshit attitude, and a creative personality, go see George. On Saturdays he has someone there to that will take your pictures and transform them while George makes them come alive. Prices are excellent.
Review Source:George Papas is talented, artistic, and doesn't F@%k around kinda guy. Â Technique's that he forewarned were risky to draw... ended up being exactly what I originally wanted, and beyond my expectations. Â His prices are lower than the other "leading" parlors as well. Â When you are putting something on your body for the rest of you life... prices don't matter anyway. Â If you ever worry about cleanliness at a shop, he also keeps his integrity in sanitation to the highest level. Â I do not want to be full of Tattoo's or anything... but if I go again. Â Only George!
Review Source:I first met George almost 13yrs ago at Jade Dragon! He was awesome!!! So AWESOME in-fact I came back to him to get my tongue pierced and eyebrow and another tattoo! He is freaking awesome and very detail. I have not seen him since he got his own shop but I know he rocks every where he go's!!! he is highly recommended and when I go to his shop to get my cartilage pierced I will update everyone.
Review Source:I went to George's last week with a friend who had been before and recommended it. She had spoken to George before about a rather large tattoo on her side. George was super professional and nice. He was able to do her tattoo very quickly without compromising the artwork. It turned out beautiful. I came in with an idea for a pretty small tattoo that has significant meaning to me and another artist there named Mark was really enthusiastic about it and was able to do it right then.  My tattoo also turned out really beautiful and I'll definitely be going back to Mark again. Both artists were friendly and engaging  and the prices for both tattoos were not over inflated like other places. The shop has a nice clean feel and they use all sterile equipment. It's nice to have such a great shop in the neighborhood and I encourage anyone living near to check it out!
