Easily the cleanest and most professional shop I've been to. Sim is a great artist and very nice guy. It's great to have an artist that doesn't get up to smoke, make calls etc...this is the only place I go! Thanks again Sim, looking forward to more work.

I have about 7 tattoos and Sim has done 5 of them. He does great Tattoos and has many years of experience. He does a great job and makes me feel comfortable when I have seen him. I would recommend him and his shop. I have never met Nate, but i heard he is great too. I had a friend get a tattoo by him and she loves her tattoo

If you are looking for a quality, professional, piece of work then look no further than Glass Beetle. Sim has owned and operated this shop for many years and maintains a level of excellence, and cleanliness that is unsurpassed. The tattoos speak for themselves.
Also Nate Glomb, who has done many of my pieces, is an artist, gentleman and a scholar. He will take your idea and turn it into the work of art you were hoping for. Have your piece done here and I promise you won't regret it.

I have been searching for the perfect artist to do my Aubrey Beardsley tattoo for over 4 years. I was looking for someone with extremely precise, clean line work. I discovered NATE GLOMB through a friend and saw his work online and figured it was now or never.

I am SO happy with the work that he did. It is insane how fine of detail he was able to do. Honestly, everything is perfect. I live in down in SoCal, but I will make the trip back to Santa Rosa just to get tattooed by him.

He has a light hand, is gentle, and he is friendly and laid back.

My experience was great, I am still swooning over my beautiful piece. I definitely feel like the 4 year wait to find Nate Glomb was well worth it. I can't wait to go back!

I did in fact go back to Nate for my second tattoo, which was a feather on my calf. I came in with a bunch of different pictures of birds and a color scheme. He knew exactly what I wanted, and we placed the stencil a few different ways before we both agreed it looked good. He dealt with me being a total baby really well.
I just moved, so I won't be able to get my ink done by Nate anymore, but for people in the Bay Area, he's the nicest and most talented artist I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. And his pricing is remarkable for his level of talent.

I came here with my brother using him as a guinea pig but disguising it as a birthday gift! I was very surprised by how well we treated. The staff here are nothing but professional and very polite. Nathan Glomb was the poor bastard that had to deal with my brothers screams if pain, kinda like a teen girl told that the twilight cast died in a very deserving plane crash.
After seeing the finished product I was so blown away by how great it looked that I set up my next tattoo with him. Nathan Glomb is one of the best tattoo artist in Sonoma county period. Sim owns this joint and I hear he is great, though I have not been tattooed by him yet. I would happily pick any staff name out of a hat and let them tattoo me. All of the albums of work look amazing. But alas cause of loyalty Nathan will be my tattoo guy from now on.

Nate did my tattoo yesterday, and it came out exactly the way I wanted it!
I knew I wanted to get it done here, and walked in with the intention of just getting a price and an appointment. Right off the bat I was greeted by the very friendly artists. Sometimes when I walk into tattoo shops Ill get a "why are YOU getting a tattoo?" look. Not these guys.
Nate started talking to me about what I wanted. I gotta say, I give the guy kudos. I was a bit nervous and a bit excited as what I wanted came out in a flurry of bits and pieces of what I did and didn't want. He sat through all of it, and helped me plan out my script tattoo that was to go on my ribcage.
When we got done planning it, he said that he had a cancellation and could fit me in today if I wanted. Although shocked and a little unprepared to get it done right then, I couldn't resist, so I got it.
When he first put the stencil on, he said that he thinks it would look better if it curved more with my ribs, so he wanted to redraw it. I like that he spoke his mind about what he thinks would look best on me.
The tattoo itself hurt (of course it would on the ribs!), but he talked me through it, was friendly, and I got through it and now I have a gorgeous tattoo to show for it.
It came out exactly the way I wanted it, and I can't say enough how happy I am with it. If it were appropriate to lift my shirt all day to show it off I definitely would!
Nate was clean, professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend him!

I actually got my piercing done at their newer location (Sorry I don't know exactly what it is) but it's right next to the new little ceaser pizza place across from the SRJC main parking structure. I also didn't catch the person who did my cartilage piercing, but he was really nice! Informed me on everything I need to clean it and handed me a sheet on how to take care of my piercing. & Also, if you're worried about your piercing, you're always welcome to come in and ask questions and have it checked out. They're always willing to help! I want to come back for more piercings soon :D

This joint has got the bomb  zappers. Go get blasted by Nate Glomb. Nate has done 95% of my ink. He's still fairly new to the game, but his work looks as though he's been drawing on people for decades. Great work. Even greater guy. I'd lend him my skin any day.

I got my first tattoo from Sim less than two weeks ago. I can't say enough about my experience. From the first meeting when he talked to me about my design to the second tattoo session, I experienced a great degree of professionalism from a talented artist. I was referred to Sim by a friend, I went in looking for a botanical looking tattoo of California Poppies. It's like he read my mind when I came back to see the drawing. The tattoo came out beautifully and he is competitively priced.

Nate Glomb is one of the area's strongest young talents in the tattoo field. I would advise anyone looking to get an incredible tattoo that will stand the test of time to visit him and set something up before a big city steals away yet another incredible artist.

Nate keeps his prices very affordable, has a very soothing bedside manner, and will not fail to draw up something you will wear, proudly, for the rest of your life.

Get on it, you will thank me.

This was a wonderful experience. Sim is so talented as an artist, and had great ideas about how best to bring my concept to life. I chose him because he has done work on one of my friends that came out looking amazing. He is very patient, professional and has an amazing attention to detail. My Hawaiian tribute to my son included covering up an old tattoo that has no meaning to me, and in just the first of my two sessions, the old tattoo is completely covered. He more than exceeded my expectations, and took great care to make sure my tattoo experience was as gentle and painless as he could. I look forward to him finishing my piece in a couple of weeks, and would recommend him to anyone who wants a really quality piece of art on their body.

Sim is simply the best. Hands down. His prices are surprisingly low given how world renown  he is for his superior talent. He's also super-Uber clean. I've actually safer in his office then in some hospitals. (AHEM... Memorial.. cough cough)

I always get my piercings from Roy. I don't think I could trust anyone else. Really, really, really nice people.

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost six years since I got my tattoo!

I ended up choosing Glass Beetle for a few reasons.  I had seen a lot of Sim's work and had really liked his style.  He has been widely published and has won a lot of awards, especially for his tribal work.  I had also heard that he used to work at Monkey Wrench, but I can't verify whether or not that's true.

When I went in, they told me that I had to have a preliminary appointment to discuss the artwork and cost and then it wouldn't be until the second time I met with Sim that I would get my tattoo.  I was told this policy was in place because too many people were flaky and didn't pay.  I completely agree with his policy and I felt this added to the professionalism of the office, as I was impressed.

My first visit with Sim was great.  He was great about listening to what I had to say and what it was that I wanted.  I went in with an idea (not a picture) and a purpose.  He drew up my tattoo right away and quoted me a price.  The art looked great and the price for the time period he quoted me for the work was reasonable.  I walked out of there feeling excited and confident.

The day of my actual tattoo, I went in with my best friend and my dad.  This side of Sim was a little different.  As he started to work on my tattoo, he started talking about how hung over he was and what a crazy party he had been to the night before.  Totally and utterly unprofessional in my opinion.  I don't know why he started talking about that as it was irrelevant to the conversation and it made me feel really, really uncomfortable.

Fortunately, the tattoo turned out beautifully.  The colors and blending were fantastic.  Whenever anyone sees my tattoo they always comment on the bright colors which haven't faded much since I first got it.  He also gave me great advice on how to take care of my tattoo - and I have a lot of friends who got tattoos at other places and had terrible advice and therefore their work was ruined because it didn't get taken care of properly.  He also offered to do any and all touch-ups.

Overall, I had a great experience.  Great artwork, great colors, he let me have guests, reasonable prices.  Minus one star for talking about crazy endeavors relating to intoxication the night before while working on my tattoo.

Sim gave me my first and second tattoos many, many years ago. I found him to be excellent, and enjoyed the private room thing. And MY choice of music? Word. That's pretty dope.

Unfortunately, the place changed over the years, and isn't as welcoming. The vibe I get now is a whole lot cooler than I am (apparently). I've walked in a couple times with intent to make an appointment, and the staff couldn't be bothered to be friendly, welcoming, or... encourage my business.

A few years ago I made an appointment only to have it cancelled about an hour before. THEN, I made a second appointment, for a few weeks later (Sim's a busy artist), and when I showed up, he wasn't there. And wasn't coming back for the day. So...

Sim is one of the best artists around, and a really nice person, it's just disappointing to feel like I don't have enough tattoos or the right look to get an appointment or even a greeting from the kid behind the desk. And even if I DID get an appointment... I might not have one.

The only person I trust to tattoo myself or my family members, Sim is a gifted and humble artist.  Everything he does is custom-no choosing #58 tattoo off of the wall at his beautifully appointed tattoo shop.  Expect to get top-notch service and to listen to some ecclectic music while you get inked.

Sim (owner) is the best tattoo guy in the area.  He's been published a ton, and he's very professional.  He is the best at blending colors that I've ever seen.  I've seen a bunch of his work ranging from hardcore tribal, to pretty feminine flowers, his work is top notch!  His prices are reasonable too.  He only charges you for the time that the needle is actually on your skin.
    They also offer body piercing.
