I came in here about a month ago and couldn't have been more disappointed in my first tattoo experience.  I was really excited to finally get my first tattoo and I had looked at all the Yelp reviews until I decided that Goodfellas was the place. I know that two words in script on my foot isn't the most exciting tattoo in the world for an artist but these guys were a joke.  From reading the reviews I gathered that this was a clean and comfortable environment....wrong! The floors looked like they hadn't been swept in months and everything looked disheveled.  When I walked in there were about 4 artists and 2 clients.  When I finally got someone's attention, one of the artists walked over and asked me what I wanted to get.  I showed him and he rolled his eyes an said he would be right back.  I was nervous about getting a tattoo and the artist who did my tattoo didn't ease my nerves in the slightest.  He did not say one word to me.  I still don't even know what his name. So while I'm panicking, this guy is chatting with the other guys who were working about beer and laughing at the terribly racist and sexist jokes that one of the clients was sharing.  He didn't even tell me what to do to take care of it and make sure it healed correctly. After he had finished, he says "oh woops. Make sure you sign these before you leave. " He had never had me sign the release forms before he did the tattoo.  After an all around horrible experience, I got home only to realize, he had managed to forget the dot on my "I".  After a month, it has finally healed and I am able to clearly see the shaky line work and the letters that appear to have their ink bleeding into surrounding areas of skin  . I know I'm not some tattoo expert, but I know what looks good and this tattoo is not good.
Review Source:I came here to get a hip piercing but couldn't decide if I wanted a surface bar or a dermal. Adam was very helpful and answered every question and concerns that I had. Very personable and made me feel at ease about everything. He also jokes around a lot and that's what I love. Makes you feel at home. He cares about his clients and was very detailed about the aftercare and showed that he actually cared  and said that if I ever had any problems I can always text or give him a phone call. I love this place and would definitely recommend anyone to come back! THANKS ADAM!!!
Review Source:My husband and I have several tattoos, all done in the US. A couple of weeks before our trip to LA, we made contact by Twitter (has send a draft from our tattoo and the question if it was possoble to make an appointment).
Today, we went to the shop in Orange. A lot of artists there due to a barbecue outside. After a while somebody came finally to us. We explained everything and the guy went looking for an artist. He came back with the message that .....the price was +/- 600 dollars for 1 piece. We got a book from the artists work and that was it.... Â For being sure, I asked once again the price and yes, it seems that this is normal (in their shop) : that's the rate from the artist, not depending from the tattoo.
We couldn't believe it : never heard from this manner of working and never paid such a high price.
But...the US is big enough to find other (good) tattooshops and artists. We found our address....
The best tat shop in oc. Â Very clean and professional. Lookin for a colorful piece ask for tattoo Mike. Â He is awesome! He even did a sweet sports memorabilia piece on my 63yr old dad. Looks rad. Lookin for a black n grey piece ask for Grim. Both their reputations speak for themselves. Look no further goodfellas is the place for your new tattoo.
Review Source:went in to see Adam "Chef" at Good Fellas. I knew I wanted a very colorful peacock tattoo but also knew I didnt want it to look like every other peacock. Adam listened to what I wanted while I gave him creative freedom. What I came out with is amazing. I now have a traditional peacock on my left arm that literally stops people in their tracks. Thanks Adam!!
Review Source:Have been tattooed here for the last 4 years by Rick Spellman.. Â Each visit has been a pleasure. The people here are ultra helpful and friendly and most of all very mindful of following sanitation laws. The comfortable and clean evironment along with the artists pleasing vibe makes this the shop i'll continue to come back to for years on end.
keep it up Goodfellas.
ps..its next to a 711..very convienent as 99 cent slurpees after being pricked at for hours is soothing.
Turbo at Goodfellas is my go to guy. Â Of all the artists I've ever met, he's the most personable and friendly. Â A lot of shops are full of egos, not Goodfellas. Â Everyone in there is cool with everybody else, and there is a total positive vibe. Â Turbo is really good with first timers, because he talks you through it and basically keeps them distracted.
Â
He's really the only artist I can trust to have creative freedom when doing my work. Â Every once in a while, they'll have art shows in the shop too. Â Check them out, you won't be disappointed. Â And that's a great thing, because tattoos are forever.....
Grim! Should i say anything else....He designed and tattooed my first one and I'm not done going back to him. He put his own individual twist on it and i don't regret it at all. I have gotten so many compliments, from random ppl, at the most awkward places...I had a great experience, from beginning to the end. My husband and him jst finished designing his first one and it came out great. We are both very happy with all his work. Everyone at the shop are chill and down to earth. I recommend Goodfellas to everyone!
Review Source:About a year ago, I came here for an impromptu piercing. Decided to get the back of my neck pierced because I was bored. They were better priced than Outer Limits... I think I paid $60 + tip. ,... which I now know why. Never having been pierced on my neck before, I didn't know better.... The piercer, I really wish I remembered his name.. first made me wait while he smoked a cigarette.. awesome. Then had me straddle a chair  to do it - bad idea for two reasons: first of all my pain tolerance ended up being lower than I had assumed. He pierced me, I turned white and started seeing stars... him and my friend had to assist me to the other chair to lie down. Still a little woozy, he gave me a mirror to look. I thought ok, paid and left.  Later on, after the swelling had gone down, it became very apparent that it was completely CROOKED!  Not wanting to go through the pain to get it pierced again, I tried to let it heal. It ended up getting very infected. I took it out and now have a crooked snake bite looking scar on my neck. Awesome. I wouldn't ever recommend this place. $60 for the piercing? Guess I got what I paid for...
Review Source:just got an armband tattoo by Mike. It was my 4th tattoo, & I was somewhat nervous anyways because of getting the inside of my arm done. Mike was awesome - yacked with me almost the whole time about sports etc. so it went by really fast. It hurt a little but not as much as I thought.
all the people there just make you feel like your at home whether its your first or your 50th tattoo.
definitely going back & requesting Mike - already talked to him about possible designs.
My girlfriend and I got our first tattoos today for our 6th year anniversary. She got a cupcake on her side and I got a dragon wrapped around the sagittarius sign on my arm. The place was awesome. I love the retro games they have for you to play. Anyways, the guys there are really down to earth. Mike did our tattoo and he was super cool about us being first timers. I didn't eat anything before coming in this morning, and I got light headed a bit in but Greg and Mike were really cool about it and got me some candy to get me back up. I would definitely come back here for my future tattoos.
Review Source:Goodfellas Tattoo is a cool shop with nice people and a comfy atmosphere. I had to wait a little bit while I was there and hung out and observed some of the really RAD work the artists were doing. Kim and Turbo are amazing. I got pierced by Scott...and he listened really well to what I wanted and took his time to make sure he got it right. He was clean and thorough and I was very pleased. I can't wait to go back for more! (gotta wait till it heals first tho, ya know!)
Review Source:I got some small script done here and wasn't impressed at all. They charged me 100$ an hour and made me put down a 50% deposit. So I booked my appointment paid then they rescheduled me for the following week! I was pissed! I heard Grimm tatt's pretty well But I didn't get Grimm I got some new kid. It seems like a few artists in the shop has a problem running on time too because my artist was 3 hours behind on some script and was HIGH! There were also girls waiting for Turbo who arrived late however he was very appologetic unlike my artist! Oh and some grungy old man who appeared to be a shop ho would not stop talking about popping pills!
Review Source:I have been going to GoodFellas for about 3 years now. Â I have almost all traditional american tattoos and I have had tattoos from several different places. Â I also collected a few when I was touring with my band. Â I was turned on to Kim by a friend who came across her just out of luck. Â She is an awesome artist and GoodFellas is a great shop! Â It's always clean and the staff there is always cool! Â I've been to too many shops where I've felt very intimidated by some of the artists or staff, but not at GoodFellas.
Out of all my tattoos, the ones by Kim are by far my favorites!! Â I've had over 10 pieces by her now. Â She does book up fast though so make sure you book in advance. Â She does take walk in sometimes if you are lucky and there's a cancellation.
Although my preference is Traditional American (think rockabilly/greaser) Â she is awesome at New School, Japanese and custom pieces. Â She's got awards from conventions that she's won for her New School and Japanese pieces. Â She was an artist before she was a tattoo-ist and it shows in her work.
I've seen work from other artists there as well and they are all great tattoo artists.
If you want a good clean tattoo from a great shop go to GoodFellas immediately!!!
IF YOU GO TO GOODFELLAS GO TO KIM!!!
She is absolutely amazing! Â I will probably never go to another tattoo artist again regardless of where in the world I may be. Â I have to say, the rest of the staff is pretty amazing too and everyone is courteous and friendly in the shop. Â It's not stuffy like some of the other shops I've visited.
Not only is Kim fun to be tattooed by, she is amazing with color!
I was recommended by a friend and I personally have sent multiple friends to her, each of them saying the same that they will not go to another artist!
Book early if you want to get in, she tends to be booked up for a couple of months at a time. Â If you're unsure of your design or a color scheme, she'll talk you through it and give you feedback and suggestions as well.
I LOVE KIM.
So if your looking for some truly talented artists head down to Goodfellas ASAP! I have all my work done by turbo, he is amazing. Kim is also great  I always see a lot of bright bold clean pieces coming out of her chair. But back to Turbo, he has been working on me since 2001 and I plan on getting covered by him. I  just love his style, everything flows together seamlessly and looks like a piece of fine art instead of some random flat stamp on your skin. He is full of crazy ideas (stuff that nobody else has) way better ideas then anything I have ever come up with. Oh and if you're looking to get your "soul mate's" name or some lame little butterfly, Turbo is not the artist for you, he specializes in great epic original pieces. He does get booked up quickly so plan on making your appointment in advance, but he is defiantly worth the wait, why settle for anything less... it is going to be on your body forever.
Review Source:I went to Musink this year for my first ever tattoo convention. I knew I wanted to get work done but did not have an artist going into it. After walking around the convention for a while and being ignored by most of the artists, I walked up to the Goodfella's booth. I was greeted right off the bat by Grimlen and I showed him what I wanted. He quoted me a good $80 cheaper then my original quote so I went for it. He did a fantastic job and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. When it got painful, he had his girlfriend get me water and provide some emotional support. We started talking about the next convention in SF and he told me he would be there again. I told him I also would be attending and he told me to come see him and he would do a touch up for free. It was a great experience and I am so glad that he tattooed me at my first convention and I would definitely get inked by him again!
Review Source:Mr. N and I had been looking for a good, local Tattoo shop for awhile. We had previous work done in Arizona, but we needed someone closer.
After some bad experiences with Tattoo shops in Fullerton, where tattoo artists think they are the shit and so don't need to be friendly to customers, we found Goodfellas.
We were greeted by Turbo. He is refreshing. He is honest. And get this, he is a super NICE guy! Â His work is amazing. He did a back piece for me and a 1/2 sleeve on Mr.
The shop is very clean, (I watched the apprentice sterilize all the equipment), they have a pool table, and comfy couches in case you are there for awhile.
Going into Goodfellas all started one Friday night when I had an excruciatingly awful day regarding work. I had the tattoo in mind for months, but decided that "tonight was the night." I called around, checked out websites, and read reviews. No one would take a walk in and the shops that would had weak-ass work. Some shops were booked up a few days for mediocre work. I was not impressed. I had decided that the next shop that was good and took walk-ins would be "my shop."
After a long search, I found Goodfellas and was told that an artist, Grim, would be in at 7 to take walk-ins. The website that I visited with the artists' work showed a diverse range of styles, artist ages and backgrounds, and talents. I was psyched and went down.
Grim gave me a reasonable, up-front price for my piece, which would be done in two parts. Night one, Grim worked with my drawing and fashioned the finished product, then did the line work. The tattoo is on my calf and the linework healed well, considering I wore pants six days straight after receiving the piece. This pleased me, as my rat piece (see below) healed horribly with intense detail to care, and this piece was getting destroyed by pants that I had to wear and it carried into healing very well.
Today, I went in to have the color done. The first time I walked into the studio, it looked like it was being rearranged, and it was almost in shambles. But today the pool table was out, the piercing case was set up, and everything was clean.
Grim worked well with my colors, as I showed him three different variations of the same piece (an original, a copy of an original, and my rendition of the original.) I explained that I trusted his opinion on what to do and where to put what colors and he made sure to pass anything crazy by me.
Grim was the first tattoo artist since Gonz (in Yucaipa and Pleasant Hill) that I met that was modest, and friendly, as opposed to big-headed and rude. He respected my wishes to be as close as possible to my rendition of the piece.
Goodfellas will now be "my shop." I am planning on going in as soon as time and money permits to have Grim fill in my rat again. The only reason why I only give it 4 of 5 stars is that Grim took some personal phone calls while in session with me. I didn't care and actually took advantage of that time to get some water and snacks from the 7-11. But I know quite a few people who would be bothered, and so it is 4 stars.
Being a non-traditionalist when it comes to my ink, I searched far and wide for an artist to represent my vision accordingly. Â I found that person in Turbo, my ink-slinger who serves his clientele at Goodfellas in Orange.
As a review of the establishment, I can comment on its cleanliness, selection and comfortable atmosphere. Â I've felt well taken care of, and in no danger of catching anything irrefutably tragic while being stabbed with a tiny needle a million times. Â My ink has been well recieved, well cared for and well...just well created in general at Goodfellas. Â Additionally, while under the gun i've been given the opportunity to play my own music and create my own atmosphere inside the shop. Â That's a welcome touch.
They also offer a full selection of piercing options and a number of  other artists.  They've recently opened newer shop that features the portrait genius that is Steve Soto.  Join the masses and get something you'll regret in a few short years  Oh, and ask for Turbo if you'd like some character and colorful talent mixed into the equation.
