Perry is an artist. Â Where should I start?
First of all, he knows hair. Â My daughter had a cowlick and wanted bangs and he told her no - that it's not a good idea with a cowlick. Â Awesome! Â No bangs and no annoyance. Â He cut her hair beautifully and she's had nothing but compliments. Â My other daughter is a tomboy and wanted some elaborate style. Â He asked her if she ever blows her hair out, straightens it, curls it? Â No? Â That won't be the style for you. Â How about... this? Â He gave her a cut that perfectly flattered her face. Â Just darling. Â Then, my oldest daughter had a picture - he cut it EXACTLY like she wanted. Â It was perfection. Â And with my hair - I get compliments ALL the time.
Perry is frank and down to business... very professional and efficient. Â No nonsense. Â He's VERY kind, but you're not gonna get some phony frau frau here.
Prices are really reasonable.

Perry and (frmer.) Troy are very experienced cutting hair. I say them cutting womens long and short hair. They listened to me and understood what I wanted, and the hair style that suits me best. Troy gave me an excellent cut, but was a newbie at coloring. Perry is smart and efficient. Both are more than capable.
Nice touch to have "tokens" as incentives for haircuts. No, it's not  the $10 barber style cut....which is why I go here--to get a professional!!
Piercing & tat's are a different matter--didn't get that whole thing, but I'm sure they are professional, based upon the quality, inventory, and standards.
Overall, I love this hip, cool salon!
I haven't had my hair cut or colored here, but I've been in to take a look at their products. Â They have some really fun piercing stuff in stock, and a whole lot of great hair products. Â Perry, Star and Jayson are always super friendly and accommodating. Â It's really a cute little space with a great staff who clearly enjoy each other and enjoy what they are doing. Â The last time I was in there was a stylist doing a really great, bright red color on her client - it looked fantastic! Take a look at the website and see if this this the place for you!

The work and salon environment isn't worth the prices they ask for - I think it's expensive for this area. You can find better. These prices at some salons - you can get wine or mimosa FREE !!! :D
Whatever you do, don't ever, ever go to this salon. Â I was butchered. Â I had searched called many salons to get a spiral perm on colored hair. Â I had had these perms when I lived in L.A. and loved them and wanted to go back to that style. Â Perry assured me her could do it. Â He so lied to me. Â He doesn't even know how to do spirals and stupid me trusted him and I came out looking like Barbara strisand in the 60's. Â Not only that but all the hair on the top of my head broke off and is now only 1 1/2 inches compared to it should have been as long as the rest of my hair which was below my shoulders. Â i could scream right now. Â He saw what he did and didn't even try to fix it or give me some of my money back. Â He had me BUY some stuff to help the damage. Â Also he talks down to his employees right in front of customers. Â I could not believe how he spoke to these girls. Â Obviously two of the girls I know have quit and moved on, Â I could say so much more. Â But DO NOT EVER go to this salon, I promise you will be sorry. Â I an doomed and think I will have to cut my hair off. Â I could cry right now.

Christy was my stylist, and she could not have done a better job. I had medium-long hair that I was sick of and wanted to go short. I brought a few pictures with me and we talked for several minutes about why I wanted to cut my hair, how I wanted it to look, and my lifestyle and how it relates to my hair. She was not shy about gathering details, and I felt like she really had a good idea of what I wanted my hair to look like. She created a custom cut for me that fit my face shape and accentuated my features. While she was working on my hair, there were no lulls in the conversation and it was not awkward at all. She also had a client who was getting her hair dyed, and everyone in the salon was very friendly and had an open conversation. I felt extremely comfortable throughout the entire experience and would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone!
It also should be noted that when I walked into the salon, there were people from all walks of life. And at the end of my visit, they gave me a chip for $5 off my next visit! I will be returning on my next visit to Carson for sure.
I just had my third Haircut from Perry at the Hair Studio; from the start when I sat in his chair he knew what to do he not only listened, he knows how to cut Hair. I have had the best three hair cuts in over 10 Years. For all the short hair ladies out there Perry is your answer to a great haircut. I haven't had a bad hair day yet=======.
Review Source:I would give it five starts if my roommate's hair color would have stayed in. I got my hair colored bright pink and black and could not be happier with the color and the way it is lasting thus far. My roommate also got her hair colored but for some reason her hair does not agree with this brand of hair dye. After two failed attempts Christy has once again offered to do her hair all over again at no extra charge! It is not that Christy did a bad job originally it is just the simple fact that everyone has different hair, some work well will certain product while others don't work at all.
I had the opportunity to sit in the Hair Studio for hours and not once was I bored or in lack of entertainment, from Perry (the owner) to Jason (the piercer) I had great time. This was the first time I have allowed anyone other than my stylist of 9 years to cut my hair and Christy did a perfect job. I wish my hair would fade quicker so I could go back sooner. I have had a hard time finding a place in Carson that could compare to my stylist of 16 years in Reno. Â I went to Hair Studio after my husband, who has thick beautiful hair, came home with a cut that was easy for him to take care but also looked great even though he just washes it and lets it go where it wants to. Â Perry did a great job finding out what I would like in my hair cut and I left super happy. Â he also styled my hair that does not hold curl into a really cute curly look that held all day and into the next. Â Perry took the time to show me how he was styling my hair so I can try to recreate it at home. Â The entire staff was really nice, their prices are below most places in town and the work was far superior. Â I am so happy to have found a place in town where I can get my hair done without having to make the time commitment to travel to Reno!
Review Source:I've been to several different hair salons since moving to Nevada. I had resigned myself to mediocre highlights and haircuts that I pretended to be happy with. That is until I happened upon Hair Studio almost by accident. You see I had just rec'd the worst haircut ever, so bad I couldn't leave the house. I started hopelessly searching for someone to help my hair.
Long story short I found Hair Studio and there i found Kim. Kim fixed my hair. Not only that but for the first time in years, I love my hair. She talked me through the whole process of fixing my hair and I left feeling relieved and happy. You know how after you leave a salon and try to fix your hair because the way the stylist fixed it wasn't right? Nope not this time, I didn't want to wash it I loved it much! And to think I almost cancelled this appointment because I was so terrified my hair cut would only get worse. I am so glad I did not.
I highly recommend this place as not only do they know what they are doing and are extremely good at what they do, but they also understand what the customer wants.
