When I walked in there were two guys sitting in some chairs staring into space like they were high. There was a guy standing upfront by this huge screen on the wall turning up the music. No one said "hey, how can I help you?" Nothing. I finally asked the guy who was turning up the music who I needed to talk to about getting a tattoo. He said he could help. I tried explaining what I wanted but it was hard with the music right next to us. Plus he didn't look interested. He told me to have a seat. He drew up a something generic looking and said that he didn't have the right needle. He said he would pick one up and I could come back in the next day for the tattoo. He handed me his card, "Mike" was the name and told me to shoot him a text with my info. I sent a quick text to identify myself/the tattoo I wanted and like I figured, no response. No sweat, I had pretty much decided early on this place wasn't the place for me. I figure it's more for people who have already had work done there.

Review Source:Ugh...the people here act like they could care less if they get your business. I lost my nose piercing a few weeks back, went in to get one and the front desk guy did not bend it correctly and I lost it again the next week. I went back and had the owner do it and it still isn't bent correclty and looks like a silver booger is hanging from my nose, UGH! If I turn it a certain way, it feel like it is piercing my septum and is just extremely uncomfortable. I give up on this place. I was coming here because it was close to me and the guy I had years ago was very good...maybe he is no longer there...I will go to WEHO or Venice next time, but not here ever again...
Review Source:I walked right in on a Friday evening and was assisted immediately! Great prices, clean place, friendly, professional and helpful!! Mike worked on my tattoo and worked with me to create what I wanted! I was very pleased with his honesty, Â attention to detail and patience! These guys are true artists!
Review Source:I went in for a small wrist tattoo and to have a pretty big script tattoo on my foot re-done. I worked with Joey who was great. Â This shop has an amazing atmosphere, super chill, and is very clean! Joey's brother Mike also drew up an idea for a friend of mine (he's very creative). Overall, I like this shop and I would certainly recommend it to a friend, and return here for future tattoos.
Review Source:Thank you Hard Luck Tattoo~ Â Fantastic people cool atmosphere, great artists... This is definitely the place to come to for your body art. Â Nice, clean, helpful and more important- very experienced!!! The body piercing here is great
Got my nose pierced and it was a pleasant experience ask for jr.  The owner is Joey.  Very cool people and willing to help you find or create what you want!
Just like the other guy, had been waiting to find someone to draw up a tattoo that I like.
Met Joey (tattoo artist/shop manager) and we started talking tattoos. A week later, I was in his shop getting a full sleeve on one arm. Back a week later for a leg sleeve and many more to come. Working on a sketch to cover my entire back right now.
My wife like my tatts so much that she had both of her legs tatted (1 full sleeve, the other 1/2 sleeve).
I had 7 or so tatts before I went to Hard Luck but I will only get tatted here from now on. These guys are awesome.
The shop is always clean and they use one-time needles! Not only that, they love doing tatts so the price is very good...
I had an idea for a piece I wanted for the last nine years. I had gone to several shops and explained what I wanted and could not find anyone who could draw it up exactly to what I had in mind. That is until I walked in to Hard Luck and dealt with Mike. I told him what I wanted he said he would sketch something out and asked me to come back in a day or two. I came back and liked what I saw so I asked him to draw it up. The next day he called me to say it was ready; so after work I went to the shop and got it done.
Man, after three hours of getting inked up I had the most beautiful piece on my leg. All of the guys in the shop crowded around to check it out and were congratulating Mike, as apparently this was his best piece to date. I was surprised to learn that he had only been tatting for less than a year at that time, but he certainly is a talented artist. It's safe to say I'll be heading back to see Mike when I get my next one.
