it took me a while to get a hold of this place for my eyebrows. I tried calling a couple times no one answered and I wasn't sure to leave a message because there wasnt a professional voice message to reply to (just what I was expecting) then I tried looking for the place to set up a consultation there was no sign but I chiropractor place. so I thought it moved or went out of business. so it was a hassle at this point and almost gave up until someone answered the phone hence, the 4 stars. finally someone answered the phone and was very friendly apologized and ensured that I found the place (which was indeed the chiropractor place, he rents out a room). Heon Joong is a really really nice guy both him and his assistant for appointments both deserve 5 stars. he took a lot of time to make sure I liked the shape and amount of arch on my brows. it took an hour just to decide because I wanted to make sure I liked my eyebrows and so did he. he was very patient and professional. while he was doing that he was talking to me about the whole process. after we decided on my shape and color he reminded me to check in for some free numbing cream which helped a lot! the pain would have been much worse. the tattoo took about 45 min after he measured and made sure they were aligned and perfectly shaped. So the whole process took about 2 hours. he also gives a free touch up that you need to bring the paper he gives you in order to use it. I am in the process of healing and I am very happen with the results so far. I will definitely be going back for a touch up if needed. it was only getting a hold of this place was a hassle, but the service was excellent!
Review Source:I love this place ! It was a bit hard to find but Hean-Joong was very friendly, he made sure i understood aftercare of my eye brow tattoo and he did a wonderful job. He was very easy to talk to and so sweet! I came almost an hour late to my appointment but he squeezed me in anyways! He's just great all together ! I will definitely be coming back and recommending him to my friends !
Review Source:Very nice guy, made me feel comfortable and talked me right through the pain. Did a great job on my eyebrow. Â At first with just the drafting part I was a little scared of how badly it might turn out. Â But after he reassured me of how experienced he was and that I was in good hands I just trusted him. Don't expect to much of the tattooing place he rents out a room at a chiropractor office. I guess that's how he can give us such reasonable prices. Â
So if you need eyebrows done he's the guy to do it with! Â I'm thinking of going back to get a tattoo from him :)
I was looking for an artist that did 3-D eyebrow tattoos, which is the one where it looks like you have little hairs tattooed in, but couldn't find one in San Jose. Â It turns out Hean-Joong does it, but calls it Feathertouch Simulated Eyebrows.
I came in for the free consultation, where he had me fill out a few pages of waivers and liability forms before we even started discussing anything.
I wanted to know why he didn't have pictures up and he explained a lot of women don't want to put pictures up that they had the work done, since it's supposed to be "natural " looking, they don't want to give away their beauty secrets. Â So for customer confidentiality, he doesn't post up pictures of his work. Â He went on to say in the field he's in, women will always tell each other if something is good or bad, so he doesn't find a need to advertise, since he gets his clients through word of mouth. Which made sense to me, so I wanted to book an appointment. Â The weird thing w/ that is he has me call back to his business number to schedule with his admin (who is offsite), instead of booking directly with him. Â I guess he's a great tattoo artist, but not great at scheduling, etc. so he's hands off with it. Â I called his admin and she was pretty nice and flexible in scheduling something in.
The entire process was about 3 hours and it was PAINFUL! Â Make sure you opt for the numbing cream for $20, which is free with the Yelp check-in. Â At first, the simulated hairlines looked too perfect, where it looked fake. Â But he assured me that once it healed and peeled, it would give a real natural look. Â I was going to have him fix it, but decided against it and I'm glad I did. Â Total heal time was about 10 days. Â After it scabbed and peeled, the lines looked softer, and it actually looks like I have real hair on my eyebrows. Â It looks so natural! Â I love them. Â People can't even tell I have them tattooed on.
I guess the best advice I'd have for you if you're looking for simulated eyebrows is to trust Hean-Joong, and wait for it to fully heal before you panic. Â Much like breast implants! Â Lol!
It has been over 10 years since I had my eyebrows done and was looking to get them redone. Everyone I knew suggested a specific lady whom is known as the eyebrow tattoo nazi. I did not want to go to someone whom would do whatever they thought looked good without the customers input.
My sister suggested Heanjoong since he did her eyeliner tattoo. I emailed him and he replied the same day. I already had an old tattoo but wanted more of an arch and he was able to work around my old tattoo yet still create the arch I wanted. He is a perfectionist and very meticulous. He took his time drawing the shape and wanted to ensure I was happy with the shape before he started tattooing. It took about 2 hours. I really like the new shape and how natural it looks. Very happy client.
I would highly recommend him.
Note: He only accepts cash.
I called Heon-Joong to schedule a touch up for my eyebrows since the place i normally go to never returned my call. He was fully booked but I expressed that I wanted to get them done asap to be ready for an event in a few weeks. He was able to fit me in and was even ready for me the day of my appt when I showed up with no wait time!
Since this was my first appt with him, he sat down and went over everything with me, reassured me that he knew what he was doing, and he was right! The whole process was quick and painless... I definitely would come back! I've gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows! Im thinking of coming back to have him do my eyeliner :)
If you're thinking of getting your brows done, this is the place to go... you def wont regret it!
Hean-Joong is a really nice tattoo artist. Â He's very patient and takes his time. He actually spends 2 hours with each client, just for eyebrow tattoos! :)
He uses ink without Iron Oxide and he's fully licensed. He answers all of our questions and made me feel comfortable. Also, reasonable prices! We'll be back and will be spreading the word.
He's currently renting a room at a chiropractor's office. Go see him. You won't regret it! Â And don't forget to check-in through Yelp for the free numbing cream!
I just got my eyebrowns done yesterday by hean joong after one of my customer recommended meh to him. And i am really happy with the result! He is very patient and nice. I would highly recommend him to anyone! Because he is a artist! It Come out very natural, thank you. So much hean joong with all your hard work. I really aperciated that. U are very patient! Thank tou again see u soon.
Review Source:Just got my eyebrows and eyeliners  done - and my overall experience was GREAT!
Hean-Joong was very professional, easy to talk to, and very, very precise.
He redraw my eyebrows over and over again, until I was completely satisfied with the shape. He also mixed some colors for me so that it will match my hair color. Â The last thing I wanted was those bluish, fake-looking result, he totally understood my concern.
Since I just got them done, they still look a bit unnatural, but I am sure they are going to look fabulous.
Thanks Hean-Joong! And I highly recommend him.
Just had a touch up with him about a couple months ago, and the result turned out even better than the last time. I got a lot of compliments from family and friends. Remember to tell him to use the Premier Pigments brand on you, it look very natural (Don't use the Bio-touch pigment brand, it won't last long and the color changes). I'm very happy with his service. Thank you Haenjoong!
I highly recommend his service to everyone!
I have been researching and looking for someone to do my eyebrows natural and for a good decent price. I currently live in SD and there's only really expensive places in SD (around $300-$400) and then there's a lot in OC, but my mom got it done in OC and it looks really bad, started to fade and the lady that did hers didn't spend time drawing in the eyebrow she wanted. My sister who lives in SJ area got referred to Hean Joong and she was very satisfied with the results. It look natural and that's what I was looking for.
You can email him and he'll set up an appt day and time. He's pretty flexible if you give him enough time's notice. I am highly satisfied with the shape of my eyebrow and the color. The color I asked for was ash brown (instead of black-which turns/fades into a greenish color as time flies by). The ash brown turned out really natural looking. He also shaped my eyebrows for awhile, you can definitely voice out your opinion if you do not like how the shape looks (I suggest you do that because you'll be stuck once it's tattooed on!) He spent a long time shaping mine because my brows looks different from each other. He also spent a long time trying to perfect it and I love it. Turned out really good, and you get your first retouch free then it's like $30 after. The total pricing comes out to about $125-$150, reallllllly good for the quality.
He is also licensed and have been doing regular tattooing for 10 years +, and eyebrows for about 3+ or so years. So he is always working with needles. He also shows you the new, packaged needles and open them in front of you (so he's sanitary) I'm not gonna lie, this is the best deal out there! My friend got hers done in SF for $400! (really!) I would highly recommend him to anyone that wants a natural look and good pricing!
2 weeks passed: I love the natural look! I would like it to be a little bit thicker, but it still looks really good!
Just recently I heard of such thing as semi permanent eyebrow tattoo. I was pretty excited. My eyebrows is very light in color plus it's not full so everyday I have to  draw/darken my eyebrow (I considered eyebrows to be a very important feature) so I figure I can give it a try.
I did some research and decided to email Head-Joong. The reason I picked him was because
1) He is licensed.
2) His website was very easily understand
3) I figured if he has been doing it for years then he must be good right?
Email was exchanged. He was pretty quick responding to the email. Sometimes he would replied the same day and sometimes you just have to wait a day.
I had my appointment at 6pm. I got there about 5 min late, but I end up waiting for awhile before he can see me. What happen was that the appointment before me was an hour late so everything got push back. Which was kind of frustrating but since I drove all the way from Fremont I was not going to leave, plus I was really looking forward to my appointment. I don't know what is the best way to handle situation like this, perhaps a phone call in advance will be nice if thing like that ever happen again.
Here is overall rating:
Knowledge: 5/5
Professionalism: 5/5
Expertise with tattoo: 5/5
Friendliness: 5/5
Eyebrow shaping: 4/5
Total time: little over 2 hours (almost an hr drawing and another hr tattooing on the eyebrow)
I highly would recommended anyone who want to get semi- permanent tattoo to go with Hean-Joong. He is very nice and knowledge, as he described he is very "meticulous." He want everything to be precise so that is why the drawing takes almost one hour.
I do have one problem through, which is the shape of my brows. Hean-joong told me that he would draw one eyebrow and let me see it. And I was thinking in my head "won't that be hard to picture how it exactly will look like" so I asked him to go ahead draw both in. I should had listen to him  to draw one in first because the eyebrows turns out a lot difference than the way I normally draw in my eyebrows. He did the appropriated way of measuring the brows, but the problem with that is that although it is standard way, it does not guarantee to be suitable for everyone's face. The arch was way to high for me, I had Hean-joong tone down the arches which end up to be another 20 min drawing/fixing the brows. I admitted, afterward I felt kinda of bad  the amount of time it took for him to draw in my brows that I thought I would be okay with the shape. So I had him tattoo it in. It was my fault, I end up not being 100% satisfied with my eyebrows.
I reached out to Hean-Joong few days later and ask him if he can fix my eyebrows and make the arched thicker. He was really professional and scheduled me into his schedule a week later. I had my friend with me for second opinion, which turn out to be very helpful because she can look at overall feature of my face. I have to say, if I have to rate i, last time I was about 80% satisfied with my brows, this time I am 90% with my brows. Mainly because I noticed the arch is not 100% even.
Hean-joong is so patient and he said I can reach him anytime if I am still not happy. I am going to wait till it completely heal and the color faded to the correct color and see, but I really appreciated his good customer services.
I would recommended him to anyone.
I would only have two suggestions. One is to make sure you kind of have a idea how you like your brows so you can directs the artist. Another one is for Hean-Joong, hopefully he can get a big mirror in the room so customer can get immediate input and guidance along the way.
Overall, very reasonable price and never had a problem reaching him.
Hean Joong did my eyebrow tattoo and it came out to be soo pretty and natural. Well because i had hair already so he just filled it in more for me and shaped it alil more nice. I give him 5 stars because hes a great listener and tells you everything that need you need to know and has a very friendly personality that you can talk to about anything. He made me feel very comfortable because it was my first time getting it done. For sure i will come back to only him to get it done unless he moves :) but lets hope he doesnt lol. Â It took about 8 days for mines to peel and the price is well worth it. He takes his time really well to make sure your eyebrows are both perfect and thats what i love. You should book him, he also gives you 1 free touchup too :D, i think hes better than salon places because they don't really listen to your thoughts or what you want. So my sister is also going to get it done by him too. HAYABUSA TATTOO by Hean Joong is great :) you wont be dissapointed. :)
Review Source:Good luck getting an appointment with what's his name.
What's his name hardly replies to emails or texts regarding appointment availability. Â What's his name will email you a date and time, take it or leave it.
If you don't confirm, you may get lucky and receive a response from what's his face a year later. Â Hey, give what's his face some credit; a year later is being polite.... Anjali never got a call back!
I emailed Hean-Joong last week to see if he had any openings for me to come in and get my eyeliner tattoed  He responded within 24 hours and was able to squeeze me in today.
I admit that I was anxious because this was my first tattoo and I didn't know what to expect but Hean-Joong put all my worries at ease.  He  is extremely knowledgeable and will tell you off the bat what he will NOT do and answer ALL of your questions. I came in wanting semi-thick eyeliner but he was able to convince me that a natural look would be better in the long run.  He was in no way pushy; he just gave me options and professional suggestions and I'm glad I took his advice.
Hean-Joong is definintely someone you can trust for cosmetic tattoos. Â I'll be spreading the word to all my friends! Â
Can't wait to come back in a few months for my touch-up!
I'm not going to lie. My mom was very nervous about getting her eyebrows, eyeliner and lips done. I did plenty of research and asked numerous friends about where to go and who to see. I was very surprised that there was actually a guy that did excellent work with these types of tattoos.
I gave him a call to inquire and see if he really knew what he was doing. Â He answered all my questions and put all my concerns to rest. I decided to book an appt for my mom. He was very nice, professional and gentle... My mom was so very happy she couldn't wait for the work to heal so she can show them off to her friends!
To date, she's recommended 3 other customers to him... I think she calls him more than she calls me... maybe I should've learned to do tattoos..
Great job and I wish you continued success!
LONGEST YELP EVER :(
To say that I am disappointed in Hayabusa tattoos would be a vast understatement. I researched for months for an artist that I felt comfortable enough to entrust for my cosmetic enhancement and it was him. After much, deliberation I contacted Hean-Joong on November 17th 2011. If you're wondering why I'm stating dates, I'll get to that part in a moment. It was at 5:03pm actually. I know this because I had to go back and look at my phone records to double check I wasn't imagining things....as Hean-Joong had suggested. What I want people to know was that this wasn't JUST some kind of beauty enhancement (I was coming in for my eyebrows) for me. I have a medical condition and so this was a pretty big deal as my eyebrows are super thin and I was willing to wait WEEKS if necessary to see the RIGHT person. If you've ever looked into getting your eyebrows done before, then you know that it's crucial you find the right person to do the job. I picked this place was because of  several reasons. A friend on Yelp had personally had work done, his rave reviews, and finally, the most important part was his experience listed on his website with permanent cosmetics.
As mentioned earlier, I called Hean-Joong on November 17th. He picked up and I let me know I was interested in coming to him to get my eyebrows done. I told him I had never done this before and so I had questions. He told me that he was and I quote, " preoccupied at the moment" but he continued to schedule an appointment with me. What he said was that he was fully booked until DECEMBER 8th. He said this was his next available appointment (at 3:30pm). It was weeks out and I was worried I wasn't going to even have any brows by then but I agreed because I knew that it was worth waiting for if I wanted to get it done. We spoke very briefly, it was 2 minutes (again, with the phone records). Basically, he said what I said above about being preoccupied at the moment but that was his next available time slot. So I took it. I asked him if the address on his website was the same as where he was now because another Yelper mentioned something about him no longer working out of his home. He paused, seemed confused and then said not to worry about it because he would text me the address and what I can only assume be a confirmation of our appointment. Then, we hung up- APPOINTMENT MADE. I was left with tons of questions and kind of confused but didn't want to piss him off so I waited for the text.
I never received a text message. He was so vague that I started second guessing myself thinking he meant he would text me CLOSER to the date....and so I waited and waited but nothing. A few days or maybe a week later- I'm not sure I sent him an email. It's the email that's listed on his website. I contacted him explaining my medication condition, my questions, and also a request of if there was anyway he could see me earlier-and if not that was fine too. I mentioned our earlier phone call in this email. Â To my frustration, I never got a reply. I started getting super anxious since I never heard from after our initial conversation. My job has me working non-stop until 8pm. I never found a suitable time that I thought it was appropriate to call as i believe it's his cell phone that is listed (because of the texting).
Finally, I decided to message him to confirm MYSELF what the heck was going on. I politely, sent him a message saying who I was and wanted to just confirm my appointment day and time. His exact reply back to me was, "Don't know what your talking about. I'm available on so and so date if you would like a free consultation".
What!? What do you mean you don't know what I'm talking about? Obviously, I was upset. I called him immediately, a few seconds later. He didn't pick up his phone. I'm not really sure how you can text message someone seconds earlier but not pick up the phone. I left a voice mail explaining my panic and concern. Again, I was ignored. I sent him another message telling him I had called him (obviously he must know) and that to please listen to my voice mail. I never received any reply. I asked him to call back at HIS earliest convenience. Don't get me wrong, I initially asked him when we spoke on the phone if he could call me back- he didn't. I sent him an email- no response. I text him-no reply. I waited weeks to see this person and I get completely blown off without even the slightest consideration that HE JUST MIGHT BE WRONG? Â That's what got me and why I am upset. I am a very understanding person. But the way he handled the situation really made me upset and now I question his organizational and customer service skills. I don't think the world revolves around me. I know people have lives and other things going on- but having plenty of time to get back to me and deciding to do nothing I feel is just plain lacking something crucial. I felt like I was being told I was a liar. I wish things went differently...
I recently got my eyebrows done and they came out great! So I took my mom to see Hean-Joong and he did an awesome job. He made my mother very comfortable and because she had her brows tattooed 15 years ago he made some very good suggestions to reshape her brows. In the end her brows came out beautiful, not only can you NOT tell her brows were tattooed the shape was PERFECT! My mother is 84 years old and he was so gentle and comforting, she might be ready for a REAL tattoo...LOL. Well done!
Review Source:I wanted to get my Husband a birthday/ father's day tattoo. He had been wanting to get our children's baby footprints inked over his heart. I scheduled the consultation and brought my Husband over. I thought it might be odd going to a residence for a tattoo but his studio is very private with a separate entrance in the back. There is a large flat screen TV for the customer to watch while under the needle and a restroom in the studio so you don't have to walk through his home half inked to pee.
We looked through the portfolio and were very impressed. He had quite a range of work to see. We talked for a while about what my Husband wanted, did some measurements and scheduled an appointment. My Husband got a very large tattoo and it took several sittings. The artist was very friendly and fun to work with. He went the extra step to ensure the tattoo came out perfectly... and it did! The footprints are an exact replica of the ones taken in the delivery room and our daughters love looking at their feet on Daddy. I would defiantly come here, and only here, again. This was one of the best tattooing experiences we have ever had.
I was thinking of getting a tattoo for a long time, and I ran into Mike at our cafe at Google. At first, Mike seemed very friendly, but I wasn't sure if he was a good tattoo artist.
I visited him the first time and found him to be very good. We first did a mock sketch and he tested the tattoo on my arm. He asked me if I liked it and if I could live with that design on me. I wasn't 100% sure, but I didn't want to cancel either. He assured me that we could do it anytime, and asked me to look over the design and make any changes.
I spent the next week looking over the design and revising it a bit. It ended up looking better than the original and I scheduled an appointment for the real thing the next Sunday. The actual tattooing wasn't as painful as I thought I overall I was very comfortable at the pace. He didn't even charge me that much, and also provided antibiotics and other stuff to help me heal. I would totally do another tattoo with Mike if I ever decided to do so.
