She did an awesome job with my tattoo! I love it. Only reason why I didn't  give her 5 stars was because of the tatu derm. It's this clear plastic looking thing that's supposed to be good for the tattoo, well soon as I got outside it just came off.... I tried to fix it the best I could till I got home. Once home I managed to somehow keep the tatu derm on but with better bandaging. The tape she used to bandage me up also wasn't the best, I do however think it was maybe the weather (it was humid) that made it suck. But the tattoo itself is just beautiful! The tattoo artist was super nice too!

Â she created two beautiful and unique tattoos for me based on a whole lot of images and native american folklore and myths I sent her. Â She adjusted the tattoos and worked with me - all without me giving her a deposit. Â Her studio was safe, clean, and welcoming. Â The price was VERY reasonable. Â the final products are absolutely what I had wished and hoped for. Â
I highly recommend this place for those who want something truly artistic inked on them, not for the person who wants to get a Union Jack slapped on his ass at 2am.
You cannot find a better tattoo artist then Bek. I came to Bek to get a memorial tattoo done a little more than a year ago and since them have gotten three tattoos; two which are big pieces.
I knew what I wanted for my two bigger pieces; my sparrows and guitar sleeve (pictures attached) but she added and went above and beyond to make them more than perfect. Bek gives her honest opinions on what will look best and what will work and what wont. I take her advice EVERY time and never regretted it once. I now have 18 tattoos including my sleeve and I rarely go back to the same artist and Bek will always be my priority artist to go to. She creates beautiful work and we are working on yet another big piece.
Bek is also super fast! I wanted my knuckles tattooed in which she was skeptical because of all the touching up the knuckles would bring. But we moved the lettering up a little bit and it worked perfect. Though it was very painful Bek moved swiftly and fast and it was not a horrible experience :) And its beyond gorgeous. If you want beautiful, perfect pieces of art of your body...your best bet is to go to Bek. :)
I meant to update this sooner, but forgot. Anyway, nothing's changed...except that I got two more tattoos recently from Bek. Is there any better gauge for tattoo artists than now having FIVE tattoos from the same person? I think not.
I swear I'll post pictures, but neither were something I picked out on a shop wall-- in fact, about a week before I was in town...yes, I will go up to Chicago to get my tattoos because of Bek...I emailed her a specific design for the fleur-de-lis I wanted as well as the phrase and font of another tattoo I wanted.
Once I got to the shop (late on a Sunday night; if you call ahead of time for an appointment she'll really work with you as far as hours she's available ) she sketched out both, added some flair I hadn't thought about, and we got to it. Gorgeous. I get compliments all the time on my tattoos. Will, of course, be back. Because now I want a sleeve.
Wow! Rebecca is great! Her space is open and friendly. I may not get large tattoos but how my tattoos turn out is important. Rebecca is without a doubt the most professional tattoo artist I have ever worked with. My tattoo turned out fantastic and I couldn't be more pleased. Added bonus, she is funny and the experience was top notch. I look forward to working with her again. All my tattoos were done by different artists. I feel confident I will work with Rebecca again.
Review Source:One of my good friends used to go to jade for all of her tattoos. the artist she saw there was pretty good, he did good detail work and coloring but turned out to be a perverted creep, as are all of the later night artists that i've met there. so now my friend has moved her business to heathen ink, which has worked out really well for her.
unlike jade they're only open until 8pm which gives you a limited time range to make an appointment (no walk ins). they're not the best portrait people to go to, in fact if i wanted a portrait i'd probably hunt down kat von d and have her do mine spare no expense...but if you're looking for a good portrait tatt i'd shop around on yelp at least to see what people have to say. they do pretty good animal work though. also good fantasy/dragon type work. they've done some pretty stunning pieces on a few peoples backs that i've seen that was full of such vibrant colors and detail i was really impressed. in fact, my friend who was tattooed with some blue roses for her grandmother (at jade) is planning on having them touched up to look more realistic by her artist at heathen (who does really fantastic floral body art).
their lettering is possibly the thing that all artists are best at. definatley be picky with your artist and get exactly what you want drawn out before you get it plastered on your body. i have to say that though these artists are very talented, some of their tatts are not very impressive at all and if they were on me i'd want to get removed and probably cry tremendously that i made such a mistake letting them put it on me. their faces on a few fairies i've seen have been cartoonish compared to the high class art of the body. faces ARE hard for a lot of artists, even myself, but that's something incredibly important to get right too. just a warning.
aside from tattoos the artists there sell their own work which can be purchased either online or in person. heathen does piercings as well as tattoos and all are very reasonable prices. my friend has gotten 20 dollar piercings and tattoos that would normally cost about 100 dollars at jade for half the price if not a bit less. her boyfriend recently got a sleeve done which took 4 hours and cost about 150. Still a steal. So i recommend looking into heathen if you're looking for an affordable tattoo place to go to. just make sure you get to know your artist off the bat and find out who can best give to you what you're looking for!
