EVERYTHING STARTS WITH EDUCATING YOURSELF: If that means going to check out the studio, the books,  shake hands and kiss babies, do it, Many  people dont mind you watching their tattoo be done because its a since of pride and many artists are okay with this.  NOW on to Indigo Body art gallery
Although i am a heavily tattooed woman, i still did my homework. I met with Mark when he was tattooing in the QCA. And was Surprised to see how beautiful the studio was.. and no crazy loud music or the smell of pot filtering through the air, it was a place i would be more then happy to take my toddler to and let her look around and see all the beautiful work that local artists had done. Now even though he was in the middle of a piece of work he took the time to come say hello to me and went back to his work. I then flipped through his books and found i liked his works. He took the time to get to know me, and what i wanted and what the tattoo meant to me. And took it personally. He did an entire chest piece for me and its beautiful. After putting in 8 hours.. i came back for him to look at it, it had faded a bit due to the aquaphor, he recolored the ENTIRE chest piece. no extra charge and that was 4 hours of extra work he put into it that he didnt have to. And as im planning my 16th tattoo, he took the time to understand again how important this was and give me some ideas that i hadn't thought of, never undermining what i wanted or the importance. If for any reason you would like to contact me for yet another review please feel free to do so.
This is the absolute worst interaction and experience I have ever had with a piercer! I went into Indigo 2 weeks ago to get a 16 gauge 3/8" segment style lip ring. I spoke with the owner, Mark, and instead he gave me a nose hoop and said they were interchangeable. I bought 2 thinking they would work and after 3 days of use, the post was digging into the inside of my lip causing pain and swelling. Naturally, I took it out and put my labret stud back in. I called Indigo and spoke to Mark to see if I could return the one still sealed. He told me the jewelry was fine and it was clearly the user of jewelry. He was insanely argumentative over the phone and continued to reiterate that all jewelry is interchangeable - 'like bullets in a gun'... He told me to come into the shop again so he could take a look at my lip and explain to me what I was doing wrong - mind you, I have had my lip pierced now for 8+ years and not once had any issues. His website boasts that he has been piercing for over a decade, but lack of piercing knowledge proves differently. I spoke with another reputable piercer for their opinion and whether or not they would have sold a nose hoop as a lip ring... Their answer was 'absolutely not!' When I returned to the shop to have him refund my money and check out my lip, he was too busy tattooing to speak with me. Instead, I took it up with woman that also works there. I explained the situation to her and she confirmed that a nose hoop is not to be used in place for a lip ring. She gladly refunded my money and apologized. He is clearly just out to make a dollar. I would never recommend getting tattooed, pierced, or even buying jewelry from this business.
