Went to the new and improved Ink House, Main St. Ventura. i needed a repair on a recent tattoo I got at Jimi's tattoo in Port Hueneme. They were sooo slow, clueless and unprofessional!! When I walked into the ink house I saw how clean and professional the staff were. Tanner did an excellent job fixing my tattoo. It is now bright and bolder. Great place to get a tattoo or fix a fucked up tat. Thank u Ink House!

If you had talked to me a few years ago, I would have told you I would never get tattooed at The Ink House. The Ink House when I was growing up in Ventura County was a extremely gross spot. Though to my surprise on a visit to town recently I heard the shop went under new ownership and had completely changed. I figured I'd go check it out and to my sure enough it was completely different and extremely clean shop. I was blown away and decided to make an appointment for my next trip to town. I came back a few months later and got an amazing piece done on my arm by Tanner. Everyone in the shop was extremely friendly on top of being extremely talented. Such a positive turn around for the place. I am pleased to say I got tattooed at The Ink House.
Review Source:if I could give this place no stars I would...Drove from los angeles round trip 130 miles to get my daughter her first tattoo 18(yrsold) that was set up the day before IN PERSON so that they can tell us"UH NO ONE TOLD US YOU WERE COMING IN" WTF!!!???we even left the drawing there.... dude with tats all over his arm that works there got on the phone twice walking out of the shop so that we would not hear his conversation to come up with a story with the artist on how to get out of the situation...UN PROFESIONAL would not recomend this shop at all....hard earned cash will not be spent at this place
Review Source:I had my ears pierced here - 14ga through 20ga holes - in January of 2010, so please forgive me if my details are a little hazy. :( I don't remember who the piercer was, but he was great and answered all my questions without hesitation and with useful advice, especially regarding stretching from 14ga upwards.
The shop is very clean, though a little intimidating. After I walked in I was a little nervous and kinda doubting myself, but that was probably me not being sure about having a needle put through my ear!
Overall it was quick, easy, and (relatively) painless. It ended up hurting my pocketbook much more than my ears!
Received a cartilage piercing ($40) that I was very happy with. The service was a bit confusing but the piercer (Korey) was friendly and very laid back. Didn't tell me about the fact that their card machine was not working but hey, whatever.
Disorganized but clean shop that knows what they are doing.
Edit: Whooooah. The capture bead fell off my piercing after almost like a week. What the heck man? A bit disappointed, but I'll still keep it at 3 stars.
I would give the Ink House 3 stars for the eh tattoo and piercing I got there a few years ago, but Jayce and Carlos just completely redeemed the place for all eternity- I stupidly pinched a tiny captive in my septum and was going to have to make a trip to the old ER to have it cut out, but talked to Jayce who offered to take a look. Â after several hours and a lot of patience, he and Carlos were able to cut it out without any bleeding or (excess) pain. Â amazing. Â I can't say enough about how nice these guys were to me.
Review Source:A friend and I went to the Ink House to get her second tattoo. She got a horseshoe right between the tatas from Evil Dave. He did nice work and my friend was happy with her tattoo, but he was pretty much her only option since no one else was there or appeared to be there. It was completely disorganized and it was unclear who was actually working of the few people who were there. If it were me, I probably would have passed and gone somewhere else. I prefer at least an appearance of professionalism even from a tattoo place.
There is a hair station in the front but both times we were in there, it looked abandoned. They also do piercings and a whole crew of skanky looking wannabe frat boys came in for some random piercings while we there. Everything seemed to go well on that front.
I got my 2nd tattoo there from Evil Dave. Â I know they seem a little (a lot) disorganized, but I'm a bit flakey so that doesn't affect me much. Â Here's what I appreciated about Evil Dave. Â
1 - He drew a cool horse shoe for me. Â I liked it. Â I hadn't found a design I liked online despite several google searches before going. Â He seemed to understand what I was looking for with a relatively simple design. Â
2 - He clearly had showered recently. Â This was important as I spent almost an hour with his left arm/underarm inches above my face.
3 - He clearly had also washed his clothes recently as all I could smell was clean laundry. Â
4 - Despite the pain (oh goodness the pain of a tattoo on the sternum) and the potential twitching I may have done he did a good job and the end result looks fabulous!
