WOW!!!!! What a GREAT place, went in talked to Anthony and got his creative ideas for  a cover up, have to admit it wasn't the easiest cover up, but man he knocked it out of the park... He did a lot for the price ( tattoo isn't done yet) still have 1 more session to go man he did an amazing job so far. He talked to me the hole time and kept me informed on what he was doing and what colors he thought were best... Cant say enough cant wait to finish the tattoo up and get this cover up finish with... Tattoo is a best Ive seen around, prices are great and the people in there talk to you as if they known you for a while. WOULD RECOMMEND this place to everyone... great work and great prices
Review Source:I've been going to Ink Spot for almost 10 years now. I no longer live in Chicago, but whenever I visit, I almost always try to visit just to say hi or to get some work done. I've been tattooed by Matt and Darryl and have also been pierced by Oscar. I noticed they have a few new guys there, so I can't speak for them. Overall, this place is clean, the guys there are awesome, professional, and are great conversationalists during the process. I'm usually there for hours at a time, so I've had conversations about the most random, interesting stuff! Honest business, cool dudes, and are very reasonable with pricing. So take it from a long time patron, this place is the best!

Review Source:I took my niece there for her first tattoo, and I have to say that the quality of the work is beautiful ..... but the actual shop?? Very questionable.  First allow me to state that I am  biker.  I do not fear a little disarray.  I have many tats and I know what to look for in a shop.  This place came recommended by a friend - as I could not locate my artist (he was opening his own studio). Â
I made an appointment a week later to have her tattoo finished and bring my father in for his first piece - a birthday gift. Â The artist never showed!!!! the staff could care less that we had made an appointment or that I had already paid the BOZO for my niece's tat that was not yet finnished!!! we kept calling him and he said he would be there in just a little bit - and after 2 hours of waiting, I took my father to Jade (luckily just before Joe passed!)
Long Story Short - Â my dad has a quality piece that looks great - my niece's piece took 6 more weeks to track this guy down to finnish it and you can tell where he left off!!! I had to have Tom S fix it again!!!
My wife gave me a gift for fathers day.. A tattoo.
I wanted to try the Ink Spot and boy was it a mistake.
I decided on a Heartagram on my right inner bicep.
I was a little worried about the guy giving me the tattoo, but I thought maybe I was being a little paranoid.. So, I went through with it,
I have six other tattoos and this one hurt like hell. I felt like he was ripping my skin off,, which during the healing process, I had patches of my skin missing which took twice as long to heal and I still have the bumps to prove it.
Well, the next day I'm taking a look at it in the mirror and realize....
THE TOP HALF OF THE CIRCLE IS A DARKER RED THAN THE LOWER HALF!!!
I go back and tell him what happened... and yep, he mixed up the colors. So I have to wait till I heal then have the butcher do the red over again and fill in the black. Needless to say, the red still looks like crap and the black is spotty and it totally looks like a hack job.
Never will I go back here again.
Sorry guys, but this was a bad experience. I guess you get what you pay for, I had my others done at Jade Dragon before Joe passed and they are flawless.
I am on a mission to find Joy that used to work at JD... Until then, no more tattoos.

Darryl, the owner, does clean amazing work. Oscar, the piercer, is flawless at his job. Everyone else here is stellar at what they do as well. Â
Its a place you don't have to second guess at who's doing your work. Lets face it you should never go to any place where you find yourself second guessing the work or cleanliness.
Its a solid shop filled with clean professional people. I highly recommend this place.
I first heard of this place while visiting with my friend Sara. She was getting her tattoo done, as well as my friend Amanda. She was going in to get a peace sign heart tattoo and she also got an older one touched up for $80. I was very surprised by the price -- but by the quality work done as well. I saw my friend Sara getting her doves done on her back and I couldn't believe how good it looked. I immediately talked to Darryl, who was doing her tattoo at that point and I knew I had to come back. I came back a few weeks later, and Darryl was more than kind of enough to do my next tattoo for 150$. Not only that, but he literally kept the shop opened late for me, talked to me the entire time to keep my mind off the pain, and my friend and I had an incredible time there. He's also touching up my other tattoo when I come back in this coming up Friday. Great service, great work, wonderful and friendly staff. Highly recommend going here -- will be satisfied with the work done!

I was with a friend while he got his nipples pierced by Oscar and I was very, very impressed. He was professional, knowledgeable and really sweet. Â His approach was so gentle that I wish that I had gotten my piercings done by him.
