Amazing tattoo parlor to say the least. To say this place is nice is an understatement. It is decorated with paintings done by the artists themselves and is well furnished with a dark twist. There is an iPad you can search other tattoos the artists have done on to get ideas or just for fun. The artists really listen to you and go above and beyond while staying in the limits of what you want. You HAVE to check this place out.

This was an awesome experience.  Very professional staff with unrivaled creativity. Britta was able to take my idea and turn it into a work of art.  I had a great time and would return in a heart beat.

Great tattoo studio!  I've gotten 3 tattoos from 3 different artists here over the past year and their work is amazing.  The first was a pretty simple touch-up just to test the waters, but the other two were larger original pieces that turned out even better than I was hoping for.  One was an 80s style boombox by Robert and the most recent was a portrait from The Big Lebowski by Monte (pic here in the gallery).

If you're looking for a custom tattoo from a talented artist in the San Clemente area, this is the place.  You won't find tattoo flash plastered all over the walls but who really wants a tattoo that's been done a million times?  The shop has a professional but laid back vibe and I wouldn't hesitate to come back for more ink in the future.

I had always thought tattoo places were very intimidating, typically full of big dudes with armloads of tattoos banging out "prison-like" tats from walls of "flip art".

Living Art Gallery is the absolute antithesis of this. Very professional, welcoming and tastefully decorated and staffed by true artists. Monte Livingston is a lovely person and an extremely talented artist. My first tattoo at 38yrs old is stunning. I'm so pleased I found Living Art Gallery and Monte.

I am not much of a Yelper, but had to make sure the rest of the world knew how great Living Art Gallery is. After years of searching for the right artist with the style and feel I wanted conveyed, I came across Monte Livingston's portfolio. He had the painter's style I have been searching for, and the price range I could afford. I shot over a message through the website, received a response very quickly and was able to place my deposit through PayPal or in person.

When you first walk in, you are greeted by some of the nicest people I have ever met. The ambiance is gorgeous. Cozy waiting area with amazing works of art on the walls by the employees. Not intimidating in the slightest as many tattoo studios are. Monte greeted me, discussed the piece I wanted and was just as excited about the work as I.

The work space was very clean and private. The lighting was cozy and design was beautiful. I commented on how I could just sit and stare at the walls and be content. As a fellow painter, I enjoyed watching Monte's creative process. The end result conveyed the movement and joy I was looking for in my abstract pieced. I am absolutely in love with it! Thank you Monte!

By far the nicest tattoo shop I have ever been in! Also the most classy. It has an art gallery feeling which is suited by the name of the shop. The artists are very friendly. I will be going back in a few days for more! My artist is Robert.

Living Art Gallery is a truly professional establishment. The decor is stunning and it's very comfortable. As a woman, I typically haven't enjoyed going to tattoo shops, but Living Art isn't just a tattoo shop, it's also a beautiful and classy art gallery and lounge.
Robert gave me the most beautiful tattoo I've ever seen, and I get compliments on it every day. Not only was he kind, well-read, and professional, but his standards of sanitation were very impressive! I will definitely be a return client of Living Art Gallery & Robert!!
The artists at Living Art are extremely talented, polite, and professional (not to mention they're real artists, so they can customize your tattoo and give you something that is fully original). I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!

So I came in and had a pretty simple concept of a sugar skull but I was super pumped about getting it done. Monte talked with me and turned this draft-idea into such an unique, amazing piece! He did insane details which made It come out 100X better than I imagined it would. The vibe is real cool and relaxed- unlike many other shops. This is the place I'll be continuing to come to for my future tattoos. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a badass design!

I love that it doesn't look like a typical tattoo parlor. You can enjoy a high class, gallery environment, while getting a beautiful tattoo. Robert is my tattoo artist & he is amazing. He made a mistake tattoo I got at 18 look like a million bucks, & it's not even halfway done yet! They also have beautiful artwork for sale. Tattoo wise, they are professional, sterile & perfectly clean. Highly recommend this place for tattoos. :D THE BEST!

The first tattoo that I slapped on my body on my 18th  birthday was one of the LARGEST mistakes that I had made in my lifetime. It spanned out over my right side, from my hipbone up to my armpit and packed full of color...it would have cost me thousands of dollars to remove. Since the design wasn't completely horrible I figured that if I was patient I might possibly find a talented artist who could hopefully fix this mistake. So I began my quest to find the wizard of ink who could fix the mess another "artist" had made. I spent hour's online researching shops and recommended artists, reading reviews, checking out galleries.  I spent just as much time driving around, visiting various shops, browsing through any portfolio I came across. Some artists were all right - nothing mind blowing. The majority was amateur, talentless and unskilled. The shops were all the same - the size of walk in closets armed with artists who all seemed to be covered in poorly done tattoos. Feeling hopeless I made one last stop at the Living Art Gallery in south San Clemente. At first I thought got the address wrong. This place was impressive - one classy joint.

Monte, the gallery owner and artist, was clean cut, mature, and incredibly artistic. Unlike anyone I had spoken with, he was able to take my ideas, put his spin on them, and present sketches - I remember thinking to myself, "no way, this guy can actually draw!"

Monte fixed the mess, took crap and transformed it into a work of art that I am proud to walk around with on my body for the rest of my life. Having my work done at the Living Art Gallery was the best decision that I could of made and I'm thrilled with the end result. Monte exceeded my expectations and delivered perfection.

Monte was the artist that has been working with me since April. This is my first tattoo and I'm so glad I picked this studio. Monte's creativity and friendly service have made this artful experience amazing. He really incorporated a lot of my personality in my tattoo and is very attentive to what his clients want. Not only is my piece amazing but the quality of everything in the studio is above par. The cleanliness and organization of the studio make this truly a professional place of business as well as a lovely art gallery.

The shop is HANDS DOWN above any other shop I have been to. I was able to see the process of the shop go from opening night to full throttle in a pretty short time. Its clean, its spacious and most of all, its beautiful. There's various art throughout (done by Mont and another artist (Zoe) I think).

Go here if you're looking for a tattoo experience like none other. From the amazing talent to the unique and intimate interior set-up I would say this is one of the best places you can go for a one-of-a-kind experience. The owner is not just someone who tattoos, but an insanely talented artist whose passion is evident through the work he creates. To be honest, I would let him blindfold me and tattoo whatever the hell he wanted on me because I trust his work THAT much...haha :) And I'm sure the other artists at the gallery bring just the same unique talent as well. Living Art Gallery is a beautiful place and you should DEFINITELY stop by if you get a chance! :D

The OPPOSITE of your "average" tattoo studio.

When you walk in to Living Art Gallery, you will be amazed. There is a HUGE functioning art gallery, accompanied by a fireplace and lounge. The tattoo area is separated by a beautiful floor-to-ceiling glass partition, covered in white hand-pained designs. The tattoo area has four large separated stations with floor-to-ceiling walls and white curtains for complete privacy during your piece. No peeking over a wall at whoever is getting work done. It's just you and your artist. This place is one-in-a-million. I have never experienced such a professional, laid-back, and comfortable environment, when it comes to tattooing.

The artists here are amazing. Each artist is a specialist in their own right. From superlative realism to crazy cartoons and the art of cover-up and re-works, this place has it ALL covered. You will never walk out because an artist "can't do" this or that. They can do it ALL. Check out their website or facebook (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Flivingartgallery&s=38f97f0e257adcd29ced2abeef20eafe017abdeb5db4d482e37457ed6205fc6d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.facebook.com/…</a>) for examples of their work.

These guys are professional, yet very down-to-earth. No big tattoo "egos" here. Just guys who are passionate about art and tattoos. If you're looking for a tattoo shop in South Orange County, you HAVE to check this place out!
