I was talked into getting a piercing done by my 15 y.o. daughter because she wanted one too.  She wrote me a proposal as to why, gave me all the pros and cons , risks and rewards (huh?).  She even researched locations that had the best reviews.  She found this location because one of the best places in Dekalb County said it is illegal to pierce or tattoo anyone under 18 even if accompanied by parent or guardian.

I use yelp to look for new ideas and reviews but the Magick Dragon didn't have a one on Yelp (unbelievable), but since my girl was really hoping for me to say yes and she did her research I decided to give in and not only let her get pierced, but get me one also.

I called earlier in the day to get some general info and to see if they were going to act like they were too busy to answer questions over the phone (Jessica wasn't - more on this later), we showed up about 4-5 hours later as a walk in.  I had been in several tattoo parlors before, so this looked like the average shop, nothing fancy, but clean and tidy with about 10 chairs in the lobby and the big poster like drawings of tattoo offerings on the wall.  We went to the counter and the girl asked if she could help us, I told her what we were looking for and she said "I remember talking to you on the phone this morning".  That was a pleasant surprise and definitely broke the ice for me.

Her name as mentioned earlier is Jessica and I got to say she made the whole experience wonderful.  She did both of our piercings and was really good, really sterile, really thorough, really patient.  My daughter went first and didn't barely blink when she got the first of her snake bite done, the second went so smoothly that it was my turn faster than I was ready for!  So after Jessica sterilized her whole cart all over again, she said she was ready for me.  I was really about to say "nah, that's ok I'm good, this was for my daughter anyway", but I jumped up on the table because I didn't want my baby to know that her old man was a wimp!  :)

My first snake bite went so fast that I didn't even know she was doing it!  (it does not hurt going thru the inside of your mouth, but once it breaks the skin coming out, you feel the "pinch" or sting of the push to get it thru, which trust me was very minor).  So it was time for the second one, well the second didn't go as smoothly as the first (actually it did), but that side of my lip swole up more than she liked and she decided to put a longer and new rod in.  That was when the problem started, first I kept bleeding on that side and she had a hard time finding the hole to reinsert the new rod.  It took what seemed like forever (compared to how quickly she did my daughter and half of me), it still didn't hurt as by then my mouth and lips were dry and having your lip pulled out and twisted for about 5-10 minutes is uncomfortable, not painful just not what anyone is used to.  She finally got the new one in, the swelling almost went down immediately and I was a happy camper!

I can only recommend this place based on me and my daughters experience, and recommend it I will.  By the time we finished up the place had quite a few people there for either tattoo or piercings so I'm glad we got in when we did and didn't have to wait.  This is a quality spot, I have no problem telling anyone to give them a try (especially Jessica) you will be pleased with their business and the work you get done (again and finally I can only speak of piercings)
