After mulling it over for five years, I finally got a tattoo. Â
My sister recommended the ink artist who did her first tat. Â Cliff didn't have an available appointment over Labor Day weekend, but his colleague Jeff did. Â The tattoo I decided on was "quod me nutrit me destruit" (Latin for "that which nourishes me also destroys me") in Gothic lettering. Â Angelina Jolie has this tattooed on her lower stomach. Â Yes, she is my favorite actress but I decided on this quote because it definitely fits me (dark, alone, moody Capricorn). Â I only had a website with a picture of her tattoo; I wasn't able to bring any photos with me. Â Modern Electric's staff found a font online that I really liked and was able to create a stencil from that. Â This was my first tattoo, and Jeff treated me great. Â I love the tattoo!
A month later, my sister had Cliff redo a tattoo on her upper back which was originally done by another local tattoo shop. Â Using only her verbal description of what she wanted, Cliff hand-drew what she wanted and it is incredible -- very colorful and incredibly elaborate. Â (Check out the pic!) Â She received numerous compliments the next morning while we were out to eat at breakfast. Â
We both definitely recommend Modern Electric Tattoo if you are looking for an ink job. Â Ask for Cliff or Jeff.
