Strongly recommend this shop. Â I have got my leg worked on by Sean Beck, the owner, quite a few times, giving me a lower leg "half-sleeve" in a Japanese traditional style. Â Sean is very good at taking your idea and free-handing it on your skin with a pen and markers, if you trust him enough to do it. Â I have been impressed every time with his work on both myself and several friends whom i have taken here.
I have also had work done here by 2 other artists, Mike back in 2009, and Chuck in 2011. Â Neither of them were as impressive as Sean, but still good.
The shop is very large, and has private rooms for each artists so its not like your being stared at by everyone who walks in the door. Â The floors of the shop are covered in comic book pages, and Sean's paintings are hung everywhere.
This shop is a lot different than most others i have been to.  Rather than listen to your idea and quote you a price, they will generally ask you what you are wanting to spend.  you could spend 100$ on a 12"x12" tattoo, or 500 on a 4"x4", it all depends on how much you are wanting to spend, which will tell them how detailed. Tattoo shops generally average at least 100 bucks an hour, sometimes up to 150-200 an hour, Sean seems to  usually be close to 100/hour, but i have seen Sean get pretty into ideas and give good deals.  They are all very honest up there, and will tell you if your idea is going to look awkward and try to help adapt it (let them, they are artists!) and i have heard them explain that some things just aren't going to look good at all.
The best tattoo shop in Wilmington. Sean and Chuck are both great artists who do exceptional work. Along with doing the best tattoos in town, they also have the best prices in town.
My wife and I like their work so much that they are the only artists we will let work on us, despite the fact that we live nine hours away. We've made many special trips to Wilmington just to go to Mom's and get new tattoos.
