What can I say, this is the only place I would go to get ink. Â Everyone here is super chill. Â No egos here. Â Can't say that about 99% of the tattoo shops out there. Â
I've only gotten work done by Hoang (Wong). Â He's my go to guy. Â I've been going to him for 4 years. Â He's sleeved up both arms and done some back pieces. Â As far as everyone else's work I've seen, they're all legit and talented artists. Â So you can't go wrong with whoever you get. Â Some specialize in portraits, Asian tatts, and so forth. Â Just give them a call and you won't be disappointed.
Got my first tattoo from Sara. Did a lot of research on-line before I found her at OC tattoo. She has excellent skill with fine detail tattoos and script. She gave me an awesome deal on my second tat which she designed to go around my first. Great work! People stop me all the time to look at the work. Great artist and fun to hang with while your sitting in the chair for hours.
Review Source:I got my tattoo done by Thai. Â He can get very busy, bit forgetful at times, and delayed my drawing a few times. Â However, the end result was worth the wait. Â The Koi design on my leg came out the way I wanted and I love the shading. Â People hit me up once in a while to find out where I got it from. Â I am currently doing a quarter sleeve and I am real happy with the work. Â It looks amazing. Â Thai is on a Master level with the other Elite Asian tattoo artists at a more reasonable price. Â I am juding purely on the outcome of my ink work.
Review Source:Sara is awesome! Me and my wife got tatted for our anniversary. Sara paid attention to the details and has a very light and steady hand that can work the tiniest details... haha she should've been a surgeon! But really, she offered great advise. My wife has seemed to pick up the tat bug and will be returning. Thanks again Sara!
Review Source:i get all my tattoos done by sara! did a lot of research before i got my first tattoo about two years ago and found that sara is really good with writing and smaller tattoos so i decided to make an appointment with her. sara is really chill, easy going, and super nice; she's always willing to work with you and give you suggestions if you're unsure about something. she communicates and converses well with her clients which is a great quality to have when you constantly working with people; she also checks to make sure that you can tolerate the needles while she is tattooing you. i've personally never had a problem with needles or pain but being asked if i'm okay every once in a while is always nice and reassuring anyway. i got one tattoo from someone else in LA after being pressured into it and i regret it a lot ); wish i had gone to her instead; i now have seven tattoos, six of which are done by sara and have turned out magnificent (: the environment/shop itself is pretty nice on the inside...i like the interior designing. everything is clean and sterile. touch ups are free. i think the prices are pretty reasonable, although my friends have told me that there are cheaper tattoo places. however, i don't mind paying and tipping a little more for amazing work. thank you thank you thank you! SARA DELARA, YOU ARE FUCKING AWESOME! THANK YOU! i'll see ya in another four months, oc tattoo!
side note: i love that her station has angelina jolie related posters and drawings all over it because i'm a big fan of angelina too!
Let me see what can i say about Nick Sage, how about HE'S AMAZING!!! Â Such a nice guy, very polite, not overly chatty and does great work. Â I gave him a picture of what i wanted and he drew out something that was better than the original and the end products was just beautiful. Â I couldn't be happier. Â I am going back and will tell all my friends about him.
Review Source:As a middle aged couple getting our first tattoo ever, our experience at OC Tattoo was a very pleasurable one. Â My wife and I had a very special concept in our minds as a symbol we wanted to share in a tattoo. Â We are not artists. Â We searched the web endlessly for pictures and symbols and nothing worked. Â We then started speaking to artists. Â Still in vain. Â I fortuitously happened to call OC Tattoo and Nick Sage picked up the phone. Â Literally from the first contact, his friendliness, his ability to communicate to a very uneducated person regarding tattoos was a treat. Â I emailed over a mere verbal description about my wife, our love, what we wanted in a symbol and in one drawing he hit the bullseye, dead-center! Â It was a perfect piece of art symbolizing our marriage. Â We immediately scheduled an appointment. Â Having never been in a tattoo parlor we had no idea what to expect. Â But we were very pleased with the surroundings, extremely organized and clean, and a creative artistic atmosphere. Â Nick was as personable and professional in person as he was on the phone. Â A true gem in fact. Â So as to service my wife and I faster, he had a fellow artist do my tattoo while he painted my wife. Â Sara was professional, just as personable as Nick and likewise a fantastic artistic. Another gem. Â
We found the overall experience a Perfect 10!  From the rare (these days) care factor of the customer, to the creative ability, the price and the environment, we would recommend OC Tattoo, especially  Nick and Sara, to anyone wanting to share in this ever increasing art form.  OC Tattoo is a Professional operation. Â
Thank you Nick and Sara for bringing some very artistic and symbolic joy to our lives.
Scott and Colleen
Customer service per se is lacking. This is what the 3 stars are for. Don't expect returned calls or emails in a timely manner. Â Be prepared to play phone tag for sure. They'll get to you when THEIR ready. Mass public would just consider staff as just plain rude. My sister actually walked out after standing at the front for over 20 min and not being helped or even acknowledged. They weren't even that busy. That's the major downside. Cost is moderate. Had Sara on two different occasions, whom you usually have to book weeks in advance, another downside if you're in a hurry, however her skills are stellar. Her script is precise and I was very happy with the sketch drawn up with my personalized idea. She nailed it. Shading, colors and lines were exact. So 5 stars for the artists work for sure. If you do decide to choose this shop, go in with low expectations of super friendly or attentive customer service then you'll save yourself a lot of frustration, lol.
Review Source:Oh my god this place ...
very very rude unless your sitting in there chair.
They like all hate answering questions.
They chain smoke 247.
I mean I smoke but come on every 5 minutes..... a little bit of a turn off if your dirty ass is tattooing me.
And there like not even excitied for the person whos getting a tattoo by them.
All you are to them is another dollar sign $.
THEY GIVE NO ADVICE THEY WOULD PROBABLY TAT A PENIS ON YOUR FACE IF YOU WANTED TOO.
Do yourself a favor and do a little drive over to Costa mesa Outterlimits tattoo
they are very nice and verrrrrrry cleeean. They all about what you want and they tell you the truth. This place is just out to get your money.
I was impressed by this place as soon as I walked in. Modern decor, VERY clean, friendly staff, and great prices. I had a "mistake" on my thigh that I had gotten when I was 19, and a scar right next to it. They had me email the pictures and set up an appointment for the following wknd. The day of the appointment, the drawing was ready and the artist was on time (how often does that actually happen?) It took about 3 hours to do, but honestly I would have stayed there all day if I had to I just wanted the tattoo covered. During one of our breaks, the artist joked how impressed he was with how it came out. The previous tattoo was VERY dark, but you can't even tell it was even there. I dont think any of us thought it would come out as awesome as it did. I'm going back soon to get more work done, I'm never going anywhere else!!! Thanks OC Tattoo... you're awesome!
Review Source:When my dad's mom passed I decided I wanted to get a tattoo for her, then when my mom's mom passed almost a decade later I decided it was finally time to actually get it done.
After searching and visiting shops for a few months, I, half-heartedly, searched Orange County Tattoo in google search and OC Tattoo popped up. I opened the page to their old site and looked through some of the work, when I came across Sara Delara's work, and immediately realized I'd found my artist.
My piece was going to be a fairly simple design of a cross with a ribbon wrapped around it and my grandmother's names in the ribbon. And on her section of their website she had crosses and all kinds of fonts and lettering.
I visited the shop and met Sara who was very kind and patient and helped me decide on exactly what I wanted. I put a down payment on a design and told her not to rush, it'd take me a while to scrape together some funds.
I contacted her a couple of months later for a picture of the design and we tooled with it for a bit until she sent me exactly what I wanted to see.
A couple of months after that I called, set up an appointment and went in.
Sara was very good with trying to have me feel as little pain as possible, while also working quickly without losing any quality.
Less than two hours later, without a tear shed (which I was sure going in that I would be bawling) I had a magnificent homage on my shoulder blade.
I can't speak for the rest of the artists, but from what I've seen online they're all professionals. And as for Sara herself I couldn't recommend her more highly, especially for any pieces that have to do with lettering.
I WILL be returning to the shop, and have in fact sent in four ideas to Sara herself for estimates.
Do yourself a favor, if you live anywhere near the shop and are considering a tattoo, take a look at their site or stop in to the store.
EDBALL is the man!! I've been going to him since he was at addictions.. He did my rib piece and my leg piece. Pricey! Â a good rule of thumb never shop price for a tattoo! and never judge an artist on personality. most artists have no people skills! if you use these two criteria, personality and price to form your decision. are you doing is getting a short great conversation and shitty tattoo for life for cheap. Shop work first by looking at their work take your time think about your tattoo do your research with your eyes if you feel comfortable and want to move forward THEN you start to talk about cost. please don't get turned off by rudeness or personality or vice versa don't get sold by a smooth talker. USE your EYES look at his WORK WORK WORK WORK. know what you want ie cartoonish, japanese, black and grey, or portrait etc.. and find an artist that is good at what you want! Eddie @octattoo did all my japanese art. hes pretty good at it. if you are looking asian art he's the man but good luck getting an appointment LOL
Review Source:I've been coming here for majority of my work and I admit sometime there is a wait, but its worth the wait sometimes....if you want to get ink work done clean and done right.
Eddie does great free hand work...one of his pieces on me WITHOUT pre-drawings and all free-hand (talk about trusting someone w/ a needle huh?) He's been doing it for awhile...so you should never have to question his experience and knowledge....and he can pretty much do it all.
Sen has the sickest koi fish designs and ink work in town. I've seen him do all sorts art pieces and all spectacular. You gotta see his work in person.
I'll be coming back for more ink work soon enough....
Beware! Over 6 weeks to sketch a $350.00 Tat? Showed up for my girlfriends 1pm appointment. (Thai) Let us know that the owner of the shop said to bump us???? WTF! "Another appointment flying in?" This probably translates 2 ways.............I forgot and didn't even realize I had a appointment with you. Or..........someone that is going to pay me the most bucks took your place!
We then asked.......Why not a simple phone call to let us know that this situation had occurred? His reply was " I lost my cell phone." Very convenient!
To top it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He didn't even have the sketch completed as promised! At least we got our deposit back and our example pics.
Bottom line. If one allows their business to operate in this manner......Ya got to question other procedures being followed properly such as sterilization etc.
Probably the worse customer service I have received anywhere! A total waste of our time! Go someplace other than here!
I was referred to Sara here by a friend. I emailed her and heard back within two days and exchanged my custom tattoo pictures and specifications to see a sketch and schedule an appointment. Well, it's been four weeks since I've heard from the artist even after I've sent a check-up email to see the progress on my tattoo. That's fine, I can spend my hard-earned money with an artist who actually wants my business.
Review Source:I came here back in August of 2009 and got a tattoo of a daisy flower with a bee (its a picture in my picture gallery as well). I was extremely nervous as this was my first tattoo, and I got Sara as my tattoo artist. OMG she is so awesome! She was so easy to talk to, and has really cool pictures where her work station is. Her favorite celebrity is Angelina Jolie and she was able to go to one of her her movie premiere and got a really good picture of her and was telling me about that cool story.
She was very helpful during the whole proccess as far as telling me what not to do (don't peel the tattoo, slap it with lotion if it gets dry, but of course I didn't listen, stupid me :( ). I would definitely recommend Sara to anyone who's thinking about getting their first tattoo as she will make it a very easy going proccess, or as someone to go back to, as I hope to soon!
I had a great experience with OC Tattoo from start to finish. I called in a couple days prior to actually going in and I spoke with Sara (who actually did my tattoo) and she was extremely friendly and helpful. She immediately sketched out some ideas, for a word that I wanted to get done on my arm, and picture messaged me the same day I called.
When I came in, she was very easy-going and made me feel completely at ease about getting my first tattoo. She talked me through the entire process, even educating me about some tattoo concepts. She didn't rush me and made me feel completely at ease about the whole process.
I love how my tattoo came out and I'm thinking about getting more done once this one is completely healed.
I've already gotten plenty of compliments on how the writing is so on point and I recommend Sara for any writing tattoos.
I got my first tattoo yesterday at OC Tattoo!!
I emailed and called the morning that I wanted an appointment and made an appointment with Sara. I chose her because on their website I liked how she put examples of her writing and it showed lots of examples of her being able to do small writing and just nice, simple, clean stuff.
The people were friendly, and I was nervous and they didn't pressure me. Sara was really friendly and patient with me as I was trying to decide the size of the tattoo and the exact location. She was patient and made me feel comfortable, which was great :) Â My tattoo was just letters that say "pran kwa ou chak jou" on my forearm.. and the font is smaller than a dime. The lettering came out nice and clear.
I had a simple tattoo design and this was my first tattoo experience, so I can't compare it to many other places... but if I get a second one I'd consider going back here :)
Oh yeah and it cost $60 but yeah can come within a month for free touch up. I thought it was reasonable price for a guaranteed nice tattoo :)
My custom tattoo was put on someone else and I only found out by looking at my artist's gallery online.
My artist was not communicative with me. It took forever for the sketch to get to me. And its just downright asshole-ish to put someone else's customized tattoo ideas on another person.
I wouldn't go here for a couple of reasons.
1) When I went there were guys just sitting outside smoking. I think this is very unprofessional. All of the other shops I have been were clean, if there were smokers they were to be out of site of any clients, this wasn't the case here.
2) My tattoo artist was Hoang. I would not recommend him. He first offered to email me my sketch. It took over 2 weeks before I got my sketch and I had to come in and see it. I wanted a little pig hidden in the tattoo, but he forgot all about it and was trying to convince me to have the pig in plain sight. I didn't want this. I wanted it hidden.
Needless to say, I ended up going somewhere else.
I went to OC Tattoo where artist "Q" worked on me this past Sunday and I walked away with a beautiful piece covering my right calf. I definitely recommend OC Tattoo and "Q" to anybody in the area that wants a great tattoo. OC Tattoo sets itself apart from (and in my opinion, above) the other tattoo parlors, by playing my favorite, Trance music (and Hip Hop) rather than the standard Heavy Metal and Rock music played at most others.
It's clean and the staff is friendly.
I went here to get my very first tattoo back in June 2008. About 3 of my good friends had gone here prior and were very happy with their experiences and the results. I was extremely nervous the day of my appointment. I absolutely hate needles, but really wanted a tattoo. My tattoo artist (whose name I can't remember) was not very nice. He knew I was nervous but contiued to rush me the entire time. He layed down the stencil on my wrist and I told him that the position was wrong. This frustrated him even more to the point where he then decided to imprint the stencil all over my forearm and said I should just get it all over since I wasn't happy with where he positioned it the first time. Seriously not necessary! As he was tattooing me, he kept talking about how he was missing the Laker game. He was obviously in a rush and did not take the time or effort to do a decent job on my tattoo. After  the pain and agony he caused me, my tattoo was came out crappy! The lines were NOT even nor were they completely straight!! He told me that the ink wasn't staying in my body, so I would have to come back a few weeks later for a touch up. Even after the touch up, I still am not completely satisfied with my result.
I will never go back to place nor will I recommend it to anyone I know. If an establishment allows their employees to act this way, it says a lot!!!
I Love this place i walked right in and asked how much for the tattoo i wanted they gave me a great priche was even willing to bring it down a little fore me cus i didnt bring enough cash. everyone was sooo nice this was my first tattoo and they made me feel comfortable. sing is the guy who did my work he is great very nice, very sanitary, very personable. i give 5 stars to OC tattoo
Review Source:this place really deserved 4.5 stars since the remodel but i guess i'm just a little bitter because my favorite artist isn't there anymore (he moved to san diego). although, he does come back from time to time to do tattoos, by appointment only. i've got 5 of my tattoos done here, all original pieces designed by Arnold. Â
Since the remodeling it looks a lot nicer now..more zen per say. Â Before it did look like a little hole in the wall tat shop. They don't do anymore piercings and only tattoos. The prices are affordable. Â I would suggest you make an appointment because they are booked about 2 months in advance. From time to time they'll take walk-ins, but rarely. Seng also does a great job & he's really great with asian-inspired pieces and Gabe, he's more into the nautical theme.
The only other shop I went to for was Inflictions in Covina for my tats and all my piercings...the prices are expensive and the artists aren't as friendly/personable and they rush you in and out cus many of their clients are walk ins and it gets packed from people who go there for piercings.
..and remember to tip your artist! "tips are terrific" whenever i need a touch up they always do it for free.
I just went in to get both my tattoos touched up because Arnold came up to visit and did a session there. This is why I love OC Tattoo, they let my artist come back and tattoo when he's in town. This makes me a happy girl.
This is the first time I've been since the shop was remodeled. Oh jebus! It's awesome. Flat screen tvs to watch. Everyone is nice and will come over and talk to you while you're getting tattooed. Shop is super clean. And I think it's one of the best shops in Orange County.
If you go here I do not recommend Nick. Â I asked him to design a tattoo for me. Â He said he could do it and we scheduled an appointment. Â He had 6 days to work on the design. Â On the day of I called to see if I could come in about 30 minutes early. Â Nick didn't even remember who I was or that I had an appointment until I reminded him about the content of the tattoo design. Â He said he hadn't even started to design the tattoo and wanted to reschedule our appointment.
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Â According to their policy, if I cancel an appointment less than 24 hours ahead of time they can charge me for it. Â But if they cancel on me less than 30 minutes ahead of time... they simply get to reschedule and call it square? Â No thank you. Â I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
I asked for a refund on my deposit and now I have to wait another two or three days because only the owner knows how to give refunds.
this place is very close to the freeway so you can pretty much tell where it is. A friend  of mine and my girlfriend have gotten work done here and its always came out top notch. The artist was Arnold but he is moving so sorry. but the other artist here are pretty chill and from what i saw they do excellent work. The atmosophere is always very cool, they just re-did the interior and looks like a gothic porn star set in china.  Thier shit is clean and tight so you dont have to worry about catching the clap.
So i guess what im trying to say is if you want to be permenantly written on this is the place, thus the name OC TATTOO,.
