This place was fantastic! We came in at 8:30 and we were promptly taken care of. I got Randy who did excellent work an was hilarious! He made the whole experience so much better and the pricing want bad either. It was about the same as what I paid for my other ones.
If I lived in Virginia beach I would definitely make this my go to shop. I was so impressed!
Go to this shop, no seriously go here!
Just got my second tattoo done there last night. Definitely worth every penny. The whole experience was great. I was nervous at first but as soon as you walk in you are put right at ease. I had a terrible print out and idea of what I wanted and AJ made it awesome. I would recommend this guy and this place to anyone. Don't forget to tip them to show your appreciation.
Review Source:My experience here was amazing. Got my first tat evarrrr here!
I just walked in on a Saturday afternoon at around 12:30 and waited a total of maybe 45 mins before my tat was started. That included getting the stencil printed and completing the necessary paperwork. (Granted I went during the month of Feb. so maybe not as busy as summer, but still awesome!)
I had what I wanted in mind (a phrase in script), and the artists (who are so friendly and helpful) helped me tweak it a bit. The tat is stunning and I could not be happier.
The price was much lower than I expected and a hell of a lot better than what I was quoted by some of OM's competitors in Norfolk, especially since OM was able to get me in the same day.
The place was clean, and I felt very at-ease. Parking was easy as OM has its own designated (free!) parking lot.
Overall, amazing experience. Already recommended them to friends looking to get tats, and I'll definitely be returning if/when I want another tat or piercing
LOVE this place. Gentleman Jim is back working here, so I spent about 4 hours here the other day finishing my sleeve. The artists are all amazing, though I've only every worked with Jim. The Ginger Giant that runs shop is super cool, he's always there to help new clients figure out what they need and hand over the forms & take money from us returning folk.
It's a great place overall. Comfy couches in front of a large TV. Tables with stools for good old fashion loitering. Walking distance of Doumar's & all that lies on 21st Street.
Went here with my sister for her first tattoo and my third. They were all very polite and helpful and were good at keeping my sister calm since she was so nervous. We were both tattooed by Amanda who kept up conversation with us the whole time. She also took the time to draw out my tattoo by hand and make sure that every aspect of it had the detail I wanted.
The shop itself is really nice and not too commercial. Prices were pretty good too. My sister paid $60 for a filled silhouette of a swallow about the size of a half dollar coin and I paid $120 for a detailed anchor about 4 inches long.
Definitely returning to this place for any other work I want done.
I was visiting Virginia Beach for the weekend and already knew ahead of time that I wanted to get one of my tattoos fixed/touched up.  I figured prices might be cheaper in this area versus the DC area.  I searched on Yelp to find a place with the best ratings and came across Ocean Mystique.  I was very impressed with the interior of the shop..very clean, neat, up to date, etc.  The staff was super nice and helpful.  I had an Ankh on my wrist that was poorly done and it needed to be filled it and pretty much re-done.  They charged me the minimum $40 + $3 to use a credit card, which was fine.  I can't remember the guy who did it, but he said he can be referred to as "the little dude".  He was so friendly and outgoing and  extremely knowledgeable. He was also hilarious!  He talked the whole time he was tattooing me, which made the time go by super fast and helped a little with the pain. If I am ever in the VA Beach/Norfolk area again and in need of a tat, I would definitely come here again!
Review Source:I'm a wimp when it comes to needles, but for some reason I decided to get my nose pierced. I went to OM's Ink Gallery because I lived close enough to walk and had seen the piercing sign in the window.
I have no tattoos, and I'd only ever had my ears pierced at the mall, so I'd never been to a "tattoo parlor" before. I was pretty impressed with their atmosphere. I'd apply the following adjectives to the place: clean, fresh, cool, legitimate, un-trashy (if that's even a word). Â
Well, it was a pretty decent experience, other than my intolerance for pain and near pass out. AJ did the task and didn't make me feel like a loser for my wimpiness or naivete. He even bought me a coke from their machine so I'd recover.
I bought the H20 Saline spray to keep the pierced area clean, and even ended up using it on my hair because it gave this amazing beachy wave effect! (Crazy, I know). They carry they same spray at Hot Topic for a ridiculous rip-off. I still use the saline on my hair, so I go back to OM to restock occasionally at a much better price (plus the local business incentive).
Well, a week after the initial piercing, I was still getting used to it, and I guess I pulled it out while I was sleeping. I couldn't find the jewelry to save my life, so I went back to get a new one and AJ was nice enough to rebend it and reinsert it. I probably would have passed out if I'd done it on my own, because it had already begun to close a little.
All in all, every experience here has been great. The staff is friendly and down to earth, and the shop is great!
Went to get some new work done and to clean up an old tat. Highly professional and the artist helped me understand that not everything that looks great on paper looks great on flesh. In the end he took my design and improved upon it. I will be going back for more work the next time I'm in town.
Review Source:I was born and raised in Norfolk, but for some reason I passed up this location when I got my belly button pierced 2 + years ago and went to the tiny little one on the VB Strip. Â Let me just say...the Norfolk one is so much better! Â The location isn't stellar, but there's plenty of FREE parking and the space is huge and clean and visually appealing! Â I popped in on July 4th weekend to finally replace my boring barbell, and the man helping me was fantastic. Â He informed me that I was wearing something that was way too big for me, and proceeded to take out a tray and suggest something for me. Â I went with his suggestion, he took me in a room to change mine out, and voila! Â A fabulous (and inexpensive) experience. Â I will definitely be back to this location when I go home for a visit.
Review Source:I was in Ocean Mystique earlier this year for a piercing and I was highly impressed with everything that happened. The shop is very clean and well organized. The woman who pierced me was extremely knowledgeable and confident about the procedure which immediately put me at ease.
She gathered up all my information and had me sign the paperwork before taking me back into a private room. My friends were with me but they were not allowed to come back with us.
She made the piercing very quick and basically completely painless. This piercing should have hurt a lot, but it didn't hurt at all when it happened. In fact it wasn't even really sore afterward and it was the easiest healing I've ever had with a piercing.
When I get ready for my next piercing or if I ever wrangle up the courage to get tattooed I will absolutely go to Ocean Mystique in Norfolk.
