I've been meaning to write this review for awhile now soooo without further delay, here we go...
This shop kicks ass and the people here are pretty alright too (haha). I've been tattooed twice now by Danny and I can't go on enough about how amazing my tattoos have come out. So amazing in fact, that I'm going back tonight for another!
This shop has real artists, not dudes who pick up a machine and grab a piece of flash of the wall.
By far the cleanest shop I've been to since moving down here. Decent sized shop, a number of stations, nice selection of flash and most importantly portfolios for each artist out in plain view. Just because someone tattoos in a shop, many people think they're legit..... Until they're on an episode of tattoos nightmares.
I know I'm in good hands with Danny and as long as he's tattooing, he'll be the only artist I go to.
They're even conveniently located right next to a little liquor store, ya know, for green tea & chocolate!
Great shop, the artists here are cool down to earth people and very talented. Came here for advice on my tat, spoke with an artist there named Danny and he was really helpful explaining all my options before setting up an appointment. Came back and got a quarter sleeve done in a few hours. Everyone said it'd be painful but I barely felt anything and was able to show off my new tat that same evening.
Go see my man Danny, he also helped me fix a couple of older ugly tats I had. They also do piercings here.
I recently got a new piece on my side. I couldn't be happier. it looks awesome, very clean script. I never once got the feeling that I was being looked at or touched inappropriately which I've actually encountered at a couple other places in the past. Chatted with my artist as he worked and it was over before I knew it.
Parking was a breeze. I got a spot right in front of the shop.
Plus, that guy Benji is pretty sexy. I'd go back just for him ;-)
Original Tattoo is one of the cleaner shops I have visited and the staffs friendliness is on par with 85% of the shops I have visited out there.
I notice a lot of tattoo shop reviews "in general" are a bit on the harsher side. Â A tattoo shop is a place where you can be real and hang out. Â Employees shouldn't have to pretend to be overly nice or slave over customer service. Â I think of tattoo shops much like bars, ya go in for one thing and one thing only. Â Do you really need hand holding? Â If so, maybe a tattoo isn't for you?
When everyone in the shop is working with the gun in hand, it's not always convenient for them to look up from what they are doing.  So forgive them for not addressing  your highness the minute you walk in the door.  Sometimes  when you walk in a tattoo shop it can take a few minutes to be acknowledged.  I hate to sound artsy but they ARE creating something permanent on your body.  It's considerate to let the artist get to a comfortable spot where they can stop, at which point they can address you.
My friend got work done by Monkey and I was worked on by Jay. Â In fact, I got my whole back done and Jay put in close to 40 hours (one session was worth 7 hrs). Â We are both happy and my friend said he will be going back to add to it. Â My next tattoo will also be back with Original Tattoo. Â
Who goes to a tattoo shop for the customer service? You're going for the artwork. Â If you want to be spoon fed, skip the tattoo and go to Starbucks so you can order your skinny upside down frothy latte like my 115lb girlfriend ya pansy!
It's a Tattoo shop people, relax a little. Â Don't walk into a place like this expecting to be treated like a princess. Â Real shops aren't all smoke and mirrors like LA Ink and the likes in Hollywood. Â This is a real shop with real artists where ya come in, sit down and get stuck.
i recently moved to san pedro from san diego, this shop was pretty much around the corner from me so it seemed like a logical choice. i walked in and was pretty much standing around waiting to be talked to by an artist, i must've waited 20 minutes at least, when i was finally approached by someone i got nothing but additude, needless to say i didnt get tattooed here because of the horrible customer service. it seemed like they had talented artists, but they were certainly lacking personality and to me that counts for alot, at least to me. dont think ill come around again.
Review Source:went into this new shop to check out their work...which was very nice by the way. BUT customer service was HORRIBLE!! i felt like i was IMPOSING on them...the guy i spoke to was a complete jerk!! and i ended up walking out. Whats with tattoo shops and ATTITUDE..guess i will get my tattoo somewhere else.also the loud green neon was super tacky!!
