My friend and I came in here randomly today to get our ears pierced. I've been to two other places before and neither were as friendly or helpful as Peter! He told us step by step how the piercings were done, talked us through different piercing options, and detailed instructions on how to clean it. I got my tragus and cartilage and my friend got her conch and neither of have any qualms. Really glad we came in here today :)

Got my first ever tattoos there last night.  The people are amazingly friendly and courteous.  The boss, Curt, made things very easy.  Chris, the tattoo artist, was very friendly, open, fun, and reassuring.  On one tattoo, we had to work a bit to get it right.  He was very patient and made very sensible suggestions .  I highly recommend this place.  I love the tattoos.  Nice work!

I have 2 tattoos and plan to get more, and honestly the best place I can think to go is Patriots! The staff is friendly and so talented. My first tattoo was done by Chris, and he did a fantastic job! I just got my second tattoo done by Logan, and it was very detailed and exactly what I wanted. The only down side is the price... It's a bit pricey, but I would rather pay more for a well done tattoo, then pay less and get something poorly done that I'll regret.
If you live in the area, go check them out. :)

I can't say enough good things about Patriots!  I came here for my first tattoo in November with a vague idea as to what I wanted--cherry blossoms with an inspirational phrase.  Curt (the owner and absolutely sweet guy) hooked me up with Ty.  Ty is really knowledgeable about what will/will not work on your body and within a week he sketched up a few options for me to choose from.  I was incredibly nervous about getting inked, but Ty is such a sweetheart and definitely made me feel very comfortable by talking with me through the whole process.  Everyone in the shop stopped by to talk to me, see how I was doing and ask if I needed anything, and see Ty's amazing work.  The whole staff is genuinely nice people who just love sharing their art.

I recently came back to start my second tattoo and asked Ty to custom design three goldfish going down my back.  He's a phenomenal artist and created a design that I love.  It's a huge (for me!) piece and once again everyone stopped by to talk to me and ask how I was doing throughout the whole time I was there.  When Ty noticed that I was really hurting about 2 1/2 hours in, he said let's stop and come back when you're healed to finish because he didn't want to make me really suffer.  Curt was totally cool with it and I tremendously appreciated how kind and understanding they were of someone like me who's not experienced in getting tattoos.  I'm excited to go back and finish the beautiful shading on the fish once I'm totally healed.

Pricing is more than reasonable for the incredible artistry and customer care you receive at Patriots.  I highly recommend Patriots and can't thank the artists enough for making a very painful experience into a great one!

Silly me....I knocked my month old nose ring out...after several attempts to get my nose piercing back in the hole, I Yelp-ed Patriot Tattoo and Piercing, only 3 miles from me. Walked in and Peter was kind enough to re-insert my piercing. It was quite painful because the hole begins closing immediately but, Peter was very gentle. :) His kind customer service and understanding sold me.

Next time, I need something pierced or tattooed, I will definitely check out this place

I had a motto tatto that I wanted to cover up so first site I came by was the <a href="http://yelp.com">http://yelp.com</a>. I looked around and found local tattoo shop that had four star so i decided to stop by and check it out. After meeting with Curt and Chris we decided to do half sleeve tattoo cover up. I've been to many tattoo shops and even paid deposit to do it but I never went back in because of the price. but Curt was fair very with the price.

anyways i was very worried when I was doing my half sleeve tattoo because I didn't know how it would come out. But chris def did a great job on it. I told him what I wanted on my tattoo. very detailed aggressive tattoo and look what he did, he did a fantastic job. I uploaded a picture of after I got it done and hopefully you guys will like it.

Patriot's will always hold a special place in my heart. It's been some time since I've gone back but about 4 years ago I used to go ever couple of weeks to get a new piercing.

Everyone here has always been super sweet, especially my lovely piercer, Lora! Yes, some of the piercings hurt, Lora's happy and friendly personality is what have made most of my piercings tolerable. Every time I see her she is always smiling, I just want to hug her all the time!

I remember my 1st visit here when they were located on Main St. next to the wig shop. It was the day of my 18th birthday and after getting lost trying to get home from some other tattoo/piercing salon which just repulsed me, my friends and I came across Patriots.

1st sign that I knew this place was good: it didn't smell like butt and cigarettes. Curt is the one who greeted us and was so nice and not sketchy at all.  Lora was so friendly when I met her and is the one who suggested I do a 16G for my industrial because it looks more girly and less bulky - she was right.

Since then she's done my tragus on my left and right ear, my daith, helix, and tongue - the one piercing I wanted badly but after hearing others' horror stories started having second thoughts. Lora killed that skepticism and pierced my tongue in the right place. I'm happy to say that my teeth didn't get messed up and I was still able to talk as normal as ever (instead of like an idiot after the dentist numbs my mouth!)

I took a couple of friends to get their piercings done (nose and eyebrow) who both really liked her as well.

A few of my piercings closed up recently and I want them back and Lora's going to be the lady I go to!

Patriot's = Friendly Faces, not sketchy faces :)

I just came back from getting a small tat done on my chest, work done by Dave.  He was professional -- I never felt like he was checking out my body, even though I ended up going topless.  The art itself was extremely simple - just lettering - so I can't speak for his graphics ability, but his script is very nicely done and I have absolutely no complaints.

The shop itself seemed pretty standard for a tattoo place -- a bit of a hole in the wall in terms of location, but inside it was clean and well lit and I saw no evidence of dirty equipment or unkempt areas.  The staff were all friendly and helpful.  I also had the opportunity to meet Chris to discuss him doing a tattoo for me over old scar tissue and I feel confident that not only can he do the work, but the quick drawing he did for me made me feel comfortable with moving forward with having him do a full design.  I did not feel pressured to start right away on it, either, and he was very upfront about the cost.

I didn't tour the entire shop, so I couldn't speak to any of the other work areas other than the quick glimpse as I passed, but it appeared that there were no private areas, so if you have any sort of modesty, this may not be the place for you.  That said, if there is a private room, I withdraw my one potential negative comment.

I definitely recommend Patriots.  I got tattooed by Chris, who was very friendly and professional.  The pricing is reasonable, and they take walk-ins.  I plan on going back for my next tattoos.

I've got two half sleeves done by Chris. I've got many spots on myself done by Chris. These folks are very professional, they've help to set standards with the local government on what a well run shop should be. I've dropped thousands of dollars into them, and will continue to do so.

There aren't enough great things to say about Patriots and their staff.

I just got my second tattoo last night and it was a phenomenal experience.  I was originally planning on going to Vanh's Tattoo in Falls Church so I called last Saturday to inquire about their Sunday hours, told me they opened at 2 so I was at Vanh's at 2 on the dot on Sunday and sure enough, they were closed and the door said "Sunday: By Appointment Only" - thanks, Vanh's, for telling me when I called.

But really, thanks, Vanh's, because if it hadn't been for your lack of professionalism, I would have never gone to Patriots!

I went into Patriots on Sunday and talked extensively with Curt about what I wanted to get - a Japanese Ink Block Print of Cherry Blossoms.  I was nervous, as not just anyone can pull off the kind of art I wanted.  Curt assured me that he had the perfect artist for me, had me email him the picture of what I wanted and we made an appointment for the next day.

My appointment was with Chris, who has been tattooing for 20 years, and just so happens to be one of the raddest guys I've ever met!  He got started on my cousin at about 6 on Monday (we were getting the Cherry Blossoms together) and finished at around 7:30, leaving no time for mine.  Curt and Chris moved appointments around on Tuesday evening to accommodate my schedule - I really felt like as a customer, they appreciated my business and patience, and that makes all the difference when you're letting a stranger drag needles through your skin!

I came back Tuesday evening and met my cousin there, and Chris had added a whole branch to her tattoo and darkened her blossoms (that she had gotten the previous day) free of charge!  Chris did my tattoo in about an hour and I am so insanely satisfied and happy that I want to shout it from the rooftops! He even touched up my old tattoo (4 years old, and desperately needed some tlc) for free!

My tattoo covers my left shoulder blade and is an incredible piece of artwork, and Chris only charged me $165... quite a deal in this area.

The bottom line is that I would have paid a ton more, because I trust Patriots and the value they offer is unmatched.  Curt is hilarious, put him together with Chris and they'll entertain you all night long - another important thing when they're the strangers dragging needles through your skin!

I met Dave yesterday, and he's a pretty awesome dude too... he apprenticed under Chris, and is very into Japanese tattooing and is an incredible, multi-talented artist.

Basically, I want to go back all the time and just hang out with these guys, I told Chris last night that it's bad that the shop is so close to my house, so affordable, and so comfortable - looks like I'm going to end up being there a lot!

Having gotten my fair share of piercings, and a couple tattoos, I can honestly say that this is by far one of the best shops I've been to - you can't beat the friendly faces and service, and the quality of the work is incredible.

I plan on bringing cookies or SOMETHING... really, SO incredibly happy with my tattoo and I feel like I formed a relationship - which is exactly what I was looking for when I started my search for a new tattoo shop!

I have gotten three tattoos done at Patriots.  I have loved both experiences and still love the work they did.  The first one I had done was on my left shoulder blade of the trinity symbol with a moon in it.  The guy who did it was the older man with the long hair, and he did an amazing job and listened to everything I wanted.  The second one he also did and it was a rosary around my right ankle that goes onto the top of my foot.  The third one was a gaelic word on my left foot and someone else did it but it still turned about amazing.  I love all of my tattoos but those three just look better than the other ones.  I would recommend this place to everyone, the service and people are really great.

I really hate to be "that" person, but I'm going to write about my experience here even though I didn't end up having anything done.

I went to the shop with 2 friends and we all intended to get a tattoo.  Though they were friendly enough, the place wasn't very big and kind of smelled funny inside.  My friends went first and unfortunately I didn't get his name.  Let me just say that I wasn't disappointed when there wasn't enough time left for me.  One trend I've noticed in this area is that it's not common practice to have the consultation done with the artist, you have it with a receptionist-like person, and that might contribute to some of the issues.

My one friend got a vine with flowers on her foot and up her ankle.  He did 2 colors she specifically asked him not to do and didn't do the 2 colors she wanted.  Also, the flowers he did don't look anything like the ones in the picture she brought in.

On my other friend, he chose a blue that is way too dark and almost looks black, which (in my opinion) kind of ruins what it is - a lei around a surfer-girl's neck.  Aren't those typically brighter colors?  Although, the rest of his tattoo looks really good.

    All-in-all, I won't go back.

I got my 2nd ear piercings here, and it was easy and fabulous! I decided one day that I wanted a second hole in each ear, so my friend mentioned there was a place down the street that was pretty good. So we went down there and were in an out in no time! It wasn't crowded, had a fun, relaxed vibe, and they were really nice! I was a little nervous, but the lady doing my piercing was really cool and talked me through everything. She was fast and clean and very friendly. I would recommend this place any day!
