A friend recommended me to this shop and I'm thankful that he did! Peter is an amazing artist, just got a big piece done on my thigh and the details and his work is amazing!! Super satisfied and Ivan was there also doing another piece for another customer and his work is amazing also! Definitely will recommend them to all my friends. I showed my sister the work and she was in amazed by the detail and work he put into it, she said she's definitely coming here to get her next tattoo.

Peter was great! He was very welcoming and professional, listened to my rambling and insecurity about exactly how I wanted my tattoo, and gave me a fair price. While being tattooed, he made sure the pain wasn't unbearable (I got a long-ish quote on my shoulder/collar bone area) and let me take five minutes when all the vibration on the bone made me nauseous. I will definitely be back for more ink!

Where to start! My boy Peter is legit! Honestly i wish i could gave 10 start 5 for the tattoo 5 for him. I can't really say how much I really appreciate his work, time, kindness, & patients he put in for me. He helped me out with one of my biggest regards but NOW I don't have anything to regard. Just happiness all the way guys. You want good tattoo Art, well you're looking at the right review.

The piece Peter has done for me was 3 Rose with vines and leaves (black and grey). There's no pain in what he's doing. If there is then he'll make you laugh to forget about it. This is the most comfortable place I've been too. Ill probably be coming back for more. Thank You Peter you the brother!

    Cheers guys Enjoy

Peter did a pet memorial tattoo and he did a fantastic job! He has a light hand and is super nice and totally made me feel comfortable. I told him to do his own twist on the wings and he nailed it, I couldn't be happier!

I seldom write reviews but Peter deserves one.

Peter Gunz Tattoo is legit. This place has a great vibe and welcoming; you don't feel intimidated walking into the shop. Shop was clean and decorated nicely with beautiful art. Equipment was all sanitary.

Peter is a great artist! Really friendly professional. Truly talented artist. He was really patient and provided very helpful opinion and advice. One look at his portfolio and wow does his work look amazing. I knew he was the man for the job, even though I was still nervous about getting tattoos and not really sure what to get.

I scheduled an appointment a couple days later and he dedicated an entire day for me (was getting 3 pieces for my first time). On the day of, he worked at a good pace, gave me breaks here and there, and chatted to take my mind off the pain. When it was all done, the work was AMAZING. He did a FANTASTIC job. If you don't believe me, walk into his shop and check out the picture of the wolf he did on my back. He hooked me up BIG TIME (thanks!).

TL;DR Great shop; Extremely talented artist; Fantastic work (check out the wolf tattoo).

I came to Peter through word of mouth from a friend and definitely worth it. Very professional and welcoming. Finished my half sleeve and going to finish full sleeve next week! It's addicting especially when you find a good artist. Going to be a life long customer for sure.

Not only is he patient with you but if you are unsure of what you want, he will be more than happy to give you his input. It's obvious that his customer loves him because every time we are at his shop, we see his customers walk in just to say wsup..  My boyfriend and I love the work hes done on us. Real nice guy, definitely have and will recommend to others!

I Seldom go on Yelp but I had to write a review for this one. As soon as I walked in, I felt very welcomed and at ease. I met a guy name Peter and he was very professional and helpful in what I wanted. I'm not really big on Tattoos but recently I decided I wanted my mum's name in Korean characters. The pain is tolerable since Peter had conversed with me throughout the session to keep me distracted. I am very satisfied with my results and wanted to say thank you once again for the incredible work
    Best,
    Bella : )

I've been wanting a specific tattoo for awhile and researched the shit out of places looking for an artist. No one ever jumped out at me, until I randomly searched Arcadia. When I saw Peter's work and read the reviews I knew I had to go in.
From the moment I met him, I just got the vibe. I showed him what I wanted and within a few minutes he was suggesting the things I had thought. I booked my appointment right away for two weeks later (I was in the process of moving)
I was nervous but the day I came in and saw what he had come up with...I knew I had made the right decision. It was gorgeous, he took my concept and gave me everything I had wanted and more. I took my little sister that day to keep me company, and he was so accommodating and friendly, and just the coolest guy ever. (Plus he's a Lakers and Cowboys fan, doesn't get much better ^.^)
Apparently I had picked a very painful spot but he was patient, asking if I was okay, talking and trying to take my mind off of it. 3.5 hours later I was left with a really gorgeous piece of art.
It's sore, as expected but no blood, no scabbing and everyone who has seen it is amazed at how amazing it looks so fresh.
I will definitely be going back and I would definitely recommend Peter to EVERYONE looking for an artist.

Awesome, plain and simple. Only way to describe Peters guns, made my whole experience very comfortable, did an amazing piece on me, and I was satisfied 100%
Glad I came to his place, clean, comfortable, and just a good vibe.
I'd recommend him to people, especially people getting their first tattoo who aren't sure of who to choose or what you want, he makes it a lot easier.

Yelp is truly the most reliable and trustworthy site to get real feedback and review. This was the reason why I decided to check out Peter Gunz Tattoo Studio. For the longest time I was looking for a renowned tattoo artist who specialized in Asian art such as dragons, kois and tigers, however I was skeptical to find such place in Arcadia of all places. However, when I met peter he was a very professional, outgoing and a cool guy in general. Unlike other tattoo stores, he is genuine and greets each and every person with respect and hospitality. He knows that going to a tattoo store may be intimidating so he makes everyones experience fun and comfortable.

Peter listens to your suggestions and the cool thing about Peter is that he knows how to make what you want even better! He is not one of those random tattoo artist who copies a stencil or a picture, he is actually an artist, someone who can freehand and draw whatever you want on the spot. He is very light and gentle when he tattoos, so he wont cause any deep scaring, scabbing or anything that may harm your skin.

I actually went to him a few times during a 1 month period because I was unsure of what I want; he was patient, understanding and does not pressure you. I had a tattoo that I didnt like and he is well known for covering up tattoos! Not only that, he is well known for Koi tattoos! Best of both world.. I hit the jackpot. I did my tattoo 6 hours straight; making me feel at ease and comfortable; giving me my own tv to watch to keep me distracted. Most importantly the place is safe, clean and organized.

Bottom Line, Peter is truly an awesome, amazing tattoo artist who I believe has been recruited by famous individuals, TV shows, studios etc.. However, he chooses to do his own thing because he loves his job, his art and his passion to make people happy.

Highly recommended! In the end I felt like I made a good friend who cared. I will for sure come back in the future!

Finally found some time write this review!
First and foremost, Peter is an amazing artist and person. I got my second tattoo with him three months ago, and I couldn't be happier with the results!
He didn't treat me in a generic/mechanical manner. Peter was very sincere, friendly, and very patient.
Peter listens to what you want and gives you tips on how it could look better with his innovative ideas and understanding of body shapes and proper placement of a tattoo. After all, these are pretty permanent, and he wants to make sure that  you are happy with the size of the tattoo and where it will be on your body.
My tattoo took about 2 hours. It was quite painful, but he helped calm me down during the most painful bits of the process.
my tattoo healed beautifully. There was no scabbing or other issues. He also accommodated me for an appointment in a very timely fashion.
If you've never had a tattoo before and you're exploring that option, I highly recommend you speak to Peter about it! He will give you a fair price and assessment of your idea. Also, tattoo veterans should also go to him because he is well known in the industry, knowledgeable, and highly experienced!

In short: really cool guy, great price, nice clean shop, and is willing to answer all questions to make sure you're really comfortable with what you're doing!

I looked at all of the reviews of Peter Gunz tattoos before I decided to go there, and every single review was 5-star. I think that says something about your work and your customers if all you get is 5-stars.

This guy was great! These were my first two tattoos, (I have to admit they're small as far as tattoos go, but still) and I was really nervous about it. I had tried last year to get a tattoo at another parlor in Pasadena, and after waiting forty minutes for some action I was turned away because of the location of my tattoo. Anyways, I have wanted blacklight or UV tattoos for the last few years, and after calling around found out that no one around me really carried ink, so I bought my own and called up Peter to see if he could use it.
He told me that he would do it, but really wouldn't recommend it because the ink can be toxic and your body could react to it badly. I said thanks and hung up, feeling dejected. A couple of hours later I called again and asked about white ink tattoos, (I've heard they also react to UV lights and are more visible than blacklight ink, but are still fairly subtle). He also didn't recommend this, but I had more questions and he patiently answered. Then he said I was welcome to come into the shop and chat with him and have him answer my questions.
So a few hours after that I went to the shop, a little before eight (he closes at nine). I showed him my ink, and said he could do the blacklight tattoos, but again strongly recommended against it. So I started asking about the white ink tattoos and he talked to me about them too. After about twenty minutes of going back and forth I decided to just go with it, and because the two tattoos that I wanted were tiny he let me have them for the price of one! He really made sure I was positive I wanted these, and even looked at things from my parent's perspective (they're very conservative as far as piercings and tattoos go). Another thing that really made an impression on me was that he said, "I don't want your first tattoo to be something you'll regret (because of the reaction my skin would have) and not want to ever get another one". He didn't mind doing them even though he was closing fifteen minutes later and even better I didn't feel judged at what I got.
My worst fear was having an asshole laugh at me because I didn't want a huge piece of art. He was cool with it, asked me a few questions about it and just went on. It's nice that he's been doing these for so long and can still be completely cool about it and not make you feel badly for not being "hardcore". I would definitely recommend going to him for anything big or small and if I decide to get a third one then he's the one I'm going to!

Long overdue review! Two years of contemplation and I finally decided to just get it done. I can be fickle and indecisive at times, and this was definitely one of them. I a tattoo newb and think my nerves got the best of me, but Peter was super patient and accommodating. He even put up my friends who came along in case I chickened out. Peter was very open to making changes I wanted and answered all my questions. I was nervous since I wanted one with script/fine lines, but Peter did a great job on it. I couldn't be happier with my tattoo! You can tell he's very detailed and attentive with his work and always made sure I was comfortable and not in too much pain throughout the entire process.

The people there are awesome. Service is great. The shop is spotless. I would definitely recommend Peter to any friends who wants to get a tattoo and go back myself if I ever want another.

    THANKS, PETER!!

I have to say, I couldn't have chosen a better artist than Peter. Not only is he amazing at what he does, he's also very patient with your pain tolerance.  He said to me before we started "I'm probably the only tattoo artist you'll find who will say sorry a lot!".  His shop is also very welcoming and clean. I had a three hour piece done on my back, and it healed really quickly with no scabbing or other problems.

You gotta make an appointment, because he's the only guy in the shop and is super busy. I went in to make an appointment and got my tat done a week later. He reserved the entire afternoon because you really never know how long a tattoo is going to take. He also generously edited my drawing beforehand.

I've been referring all my friends who are nervous about getting their first tattoos to Peter. I absolutely love my tattoo, everyone tells me the detail is perfect and beautiful.

Peter is awesome! Chill guy, great work, and most of all he actually cares about your tattoo. Peter was very patient with me and tried to give me EXACTLY what I wanted. His quality of work is phenomenal and his prices are fair. He created exactly what I wanted (a side profile of a woman's face, a rose, and the exact type of flowy shading that I wanted) and I couldn't be more happy.  I highly recommend Peter Gunz Tattoo

After over a year of my daughter talking(begging) to get a tattoo I told her I would get her one for her 21st  bday. I did some research on the web and found Peter's place, plus it is ion walking distance from our apartment.

As it was my daughter's first time she was really nervous and Peter was extrememly patient with her and very professional. His work is increibile!! I went to Peter Gunz Tattoo to get my 3rd tattoo. It was my first time here and I was pretty nervous. My first impression was that the place was super clean which is pretty important when you're about to get stabbed a thousand times with a needle. Peter was really nice and made me feel relaxed. I wanted to get a tattoo on my hand but his girlfriend Jun actually informed me why getting a tattoo on your hand would be, lack of a better word, a bad idea. I decide to change the location of my tattoo to my arm. I'm so glad I did! I'm glad that she cared enough to give me a heads up because I know a lot of places would have just done it. When Peter was tatting me I almost forgot I was even getting tatted because it was so painless! He has a light and precise hand. I will definitely be getting my next tat here.

I've been to Peter Gunz Tattoo once before to get a tattoo on my back. The tattoo healed beautifully and you can see every emulated brush stroke and detail. My back healed nicely and I couldn't be happier with the piece of art on my back-- done by Peter himself.

I've been planning on my next tattoo for quite a while when I was finally able to get it yesterday (4/23). It would be a color tattoo of Windmill Island on my forearm, about 'medium' sized (if tattoos could even have a 'size').

I had a lot of people telling me to go to 'their' artist and that they know people, etc etc. But every time someone tried to tell me they 'had a guy' I merely let them know I already had 'a guy' and 'my guy' is the only guy I would trust to permanently, and repeatedly stab me with ink.

So I spoke with Peter about two ideas I had and eventually I picked one. We set an appointment and in no time I was in his shop waiting to get inked.

As I laid on the sir-ran wrap table for what felt like only 30 minutes and turned out to be almost 3 hours or so, I didn't feel much pain at all. Granted my tattoo was on my forearm and there isn't much bone there, but I owe much of my painless-ness to Peter.

He has a very light hand that doesn't dig into your body like other tattoo places. I remember even with my back tattoo, I had no scabbing and there was hardly any blood.
As I watched Peter add the vibrant colors to my arm, again I noticed there wasn't that much blood and the buzzing into my arm felt like a massage.

After Peter was finished I looked at my newly done art on my arm.
It was-- rather, it IS beautiful!!

The line work in the image I wanted demands small strokes throughout the piece and Peter nailed each one!! The colors and shading are also magnificent and enhance the piece far greater than words can explain.

Peter also suggested to have some blue sky around the island and windmill that at first I didn't even really consider and when he mentioned it, I trusted his artistic eye and talent-- and now the sky around my windmill island works so extremely well with the piece that I can't imagine it without it.

As always, Peter made sure that what I wanted was certain before permanently putting it there. He always checks to make sure you're happy with what you are getting and that's always a great amount of comfort whenever getting anything permanent to your body.

I should also add, that some places don't really take into consideration (which is quite horrible and nasty), is that Peter's shop is extremely CLEAN. There have been some shops I've visited in the past that were dirty or didn't swap out sir-ran wrap and etc.  Peter makes sure everything is super clean and new for each patron.

Overall, Peter has created another masterpiece! I could not be happier with both tattoos and my thanks goes out to Peter Gunz! He is my 'go to guy' and I'm pretty sure everyone can see why-- with outstanding service, an amazing attitude and phenomenal work, how can you not go to Peter Gunz!

I myself got a bow with the bestie and 3 weeks later, it looks even better than what I had originally imagined it'd be. Came back here with the BF since he wanted another tat and we're both extremely pleased with the work that was done.

Thanks Peter (bow master) and Tim :)

Came in with an idea of what I wanted and spoke to peter. Gave him a few pictures of what i wanted. Came back a week later to look at the sketch he had drew out for me, and it was simply amazing. I had talked to him a few times before my actual date just to make sure he knew exactly what i wanted. He explained to me why everything was drawn out to his expectations. He told me that he would free hand the outline, he also added his own pagoda temple on my piece which turned out amazing. Peter is very talented, and i would like to thank him for being so professional, considering it was my first tattoo. I definitely will be back when im ready for my next piece. My whole right side back took up the whole day, and in no way possible did he try to rush his work. He worked on it in a timely manner, and even though the shop was soon to close, he still finished my piece before closing up his shop. Again, thanks peter ! i will see you soon.

I know for me, i was very anxious to get my tattoo. A few of my friends had told me to stop by & talk to peter, which allowed me to compare prices and art work with others. Definitely a plus - peter is very professional and will explain everything to you. He has answers to your questions, guaranteed. Stop by for a consultation !

I don't think there are enough good things to say about this place. I went into Peter Gunz to talk about an idea. Peter introduced himself and listened to what I was looking for. This was new to me as other places heard a word and then tried to tell me. He gave me a few ideas and then Tim came in and he introduced me. The 3 of us talked and Tim felt he had some workable ideas. I made an appointment for later in the day when he was free. I came back later and they remembered my name (Doesn't always happen) and they welcomed me and I waited my turn. Tim sketched something up. It was perfectly sized and what I had in mind. As a non-artistic person it can be hard to take an idea and present it artistically. Tim made it so. He lined it up and copied it on. He then free hand drew the rest. This blew me away. 4 hours later I walked out with an amazing tattoo outline. 10 days later I went back to get it colored. Tim listened to what I was thinking with colors and I told him that he hadn't been wrong yet so I trust him. He did such an amazing job. I sat for 10 hours of color and he took his time and made sure that it was absolutely perfect. I get a lot of compliments, including some from people that don't like tattoos at all. These guys are artistic, professional, and have a demonstrated passion not only for what they do, but to make sure it's what YOU want and it's the best it can possibly be.
I can't recommend them enough for any of your ink needs. I'll be back (and I'm sure more than once)!

Tattoos tattoos tattoos.... So everyone knows there are many tattoo parlors around LA county, but the question is who do you trust? To get something permanently marked on your body is a big deal. I reside in san diego and had thought about getting a full sleeve on my leg but had no one i can trust. I Had an idea but did not know exactly where to start. So i came home to monrovia to visit my parents and visited peter gunz while i was there. I told him that i wanted 2 koi's in my leg and if he had any work on it. I scoped out a sketch he had hung up in the shop drawn by him and immediately knew he could get the job done. We made an apt for 2 weeks later for him to start. Long story short, i went in at 12pm without any pictures or sketch. Me and peter spoke about what i had in mind, so i told him. He was very helpful and within minutes he started he started free hand on my leg. first of all who does that? And who even has the skill to even do that these days? Well let me tell that peter can and he does it well. As young as he is and had the skill to free hand was extremely rare. Although we had not finished the tattoo which wasy intention but that was my fault and not peters. The lines where done and peter had begun shading. This was 5 hrs in and i had not enough strenght nor the persistent of enduring anymore. Afterall my whole leg was inked up already so i asked if we can continue this another time. Peter is very accomadating and had agreed we should do it another time if i couldnt take it. I am extemely excited for our next apt to finish cuz this work he drew up is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the trip from san diego. I highly recommend anyone wanting or thinking of a tattoo to talk to peter and seek some advice and get some Q&A's.

My friends recommended me to come here to get my first tattoo.  Peter and Tim are really nice and Tim was so understanding and accomadating about the size and color I wanted.  I like how he explained why my tat wouldn't work with a different font and informed me what would happen if I got it smaller then what he recommended.  Tim did an amazing job and it did not hurt that bad (probably because it wasn't that big).  At the time when he ask if I'll be back for another I said we'll see (probably due to the fact I was still in a bit of pain) but for sure i'll come back for my second piece here.

I was there for a bit after I got my tat done because my friend was getting his done by Peter.  While working on my friends tattoo Peter took time out, while still working on my friend to ask my why I got my Ambigram Tattoo as my friend was sitting there in pain.  Had a great conversation with Peter about the meaning behind my tat.  I would recommended for anyone to come get their tattoo done here becuase they really listen to you about what you want and take the time to make sure it is right and perfect.  (I.e. when Peter was putting the stencil on my friend, he kept fixing it and re-working it to make sure it was straight and perfect...when I looked at it I thought it was fine.)  I've heard where other artists will not care as much and just do the tat, but the artists here do care and do a great job!

The pricing depends on what piece you're getting and the size.

Walked in to this place a few months ago to get a portrait done on my arm, I was greeted by Peter himself we discussed a few ideas set a date for my appointment and I was good to go, came back 2 weeks later and Peter went to work and did an excellent job. I have been back for 3 more tattoos since, needless to say this is my go to artist and shop. It is a very laid back environment and Peter himself is probably one of the most chill and non pushy people you would ever meet. This is where I send all my friends to get work done!!

Great place!  Normally get my tattoo's @ Prix in Hollywood,  but this time I thought I would keep it local.  So looked at the reviews on yelp. And found this place.  Went in and was greeted by Tim and we discussed some ideas that I had for a tattoo and within 20 minutes the design was ready to go.  Tim did a great job and was very professional. My only criticism would be that there were to many friends just hanging out.  Other than that, it was a great experience and would highly recommend them!

Plus the atmostphere of the shop is very relaxing and clean. Also they provide a large selection of artwork to choose from. Feel free to ask them to review their personal portfolios. Quality of work is considered A+ and i would recommend this shop to all my friends and family. Get your ink on yelpers!

This shop is within walking distance from my place and a friend recommended the shop, so I figured I'd check them out. The place was clean and didn't have a ton of "flash" on the wall like some other shops in the area. Peter's wife gave me a quote for my two boy's names, of which was very reasonable. I also asked about the rate for some larger work, which once again was highly competitive in comparison to other shops in the Arcadia/Pasadena area. I said that I would most likely be back soon.

I came back a week later and met Peter himself. He's a very personable and friendly guy, I told him the quote I had gotten and explained I already had a font in mind. (I figure everyone already has cursive for their kid's names so I had to geek it out a little and used a subtle sci-fi font.)
When I found out this was not the shop my friend recommended, Peter told us where the other shop was and laid no pressure on us to get it done there. I said I'd stick with him because of the positive reviews on Yelp.
Just like you'll see in the rest of these reviews, Peter has a very gentle touch, and this being my first tattoo, was finding the process not painful at all. The names and font were simple and clean, and Peter took care of business quickly and easily earned my future business.

Now here's where I rave. My wife and kids came along just to see the beginning of the tattoo. That and my wife wanted to see if I could tolerate the process. :) The plan was only to stay for the first few minutes then they would head back while I stayed behind to finish. Who wants a 3 year old and 1 year old hanging around while you work right?
Well no one else was in the shop at the time, and we were the only customers at the time (It was about 6pm on a Tuesday.) Peter, his wife, and another artist interacted with my kids as my tattoo was being done. Peter asked my oldest all kinds of questions and told him to do well in school. My little one explored the front lobby and everyone became animated to induce smiles from him. Peter even placed ink tattoos on my kids so they weren't left out of the action. Suffice to say, my family stayed and enjoyed themselves the whole time I was there.

The people at this shop have awesome personalities and completely non-pretentious attitudes unlike some other tattoo shops I checked out while researching. You can see from the gallery their abilities and skills as artists. If you are remotely nervous and looking for a laid-back, friendly, atmosphere, then this shop is the place to go.

peter did a great job on my music symbol last night. I had NOOO clue what I wanted so I went in without no patterns and he already had my pattern printed out and cut, ready to go! the sample was a tiny bit bigger than what I wanted so he resized it by eyeballing and it still came out nice. Some people say people who does it so quik does a half ass job. However he was still capable of doing a neat job on my tattoo spending about a little less than 15 minutes on it. This is my first tatt and I was pleased with how it turned out. Even if you're not sure what you want to get, Peter is an artist all around. He can sketch and get his creative mind into what you want and come up with a fast sketch sample that looks amazing! Even as a 1st time customer, I will definitely go back to get some more in the future. WHY? because once you get it at PETER GUNZ, YOU CAN NEVER STOP!!! ITZ THAT ADDICTING!!! :]

Dont know why my previous review was taken off, but I just want to let people know how great mr Gunz and his staff is...

I have gotten 2 tattoos from Peter himself, one on my back and one on the side of my arm.  Every  time I say Im thinking of getting something new, he always askes me if Im sure, because he knows that it will be something that will be stuck with you for life.  Not only are they into tattooing, they are really into art itself, if you walk in you will see paintings created both by Peter and Ivan on their down time.

Now that Im thinking of sleeving my arm with him, his first question was, are you sure buddy?  He makes his money off tattoos, but also makes sure that his money is earned, so he never pressures people into getting anything they might regret...  =)

    Peter Gunz!
Love them! I took in a small, simple tattoo and Peter still treated me as a big customer! He warned me about the way tiny tattoos might come out and wanted to make sure it was what I wanted. He didn't just go ahead and tat me to get my business, he wants you to be 100% happy with what you have. He also has more than one artist on site, so whatever style of tattoo you want, he's got it! I'd recommend them to anyone :]

One of my favorite experiences when getting a tattoo happened at Peter Gunz Tattoo Shop with Peter himself.

First I was not sure what exactly I wanted as a tattoo, all I had was a basic outline and some ideas on what I wanted inside. Peter was so patient and professional with me. He put in my ideas but with his artist view. And only when I was very happy and sure about the end results on paper did he proceed to ink it on my skin. He is not one of those artist that just want to get it done with... he understands that your tattoo is going to be there for the rest of your life so it better look good!

During my session, he always asked if I was okay and if I needed a break. Peter is very light handed which is important because less blood loss!! Even though I am pretty pain tolerant.

I highly recommend this place if you are trying to get any work done.
