This place is awful.  First off, all of their merchandise is not only extremely overpriced, but generally of a low quality.  Besides for their smoking accessories which run the same standard rate at any other smoke shop, their glass is UNBELIEVABLY expensive while AT THE SAME TIME being crap.  As for their "artsy glass", it's not even artsy glass a real glass connoisseur would want to  own, the artists aren't that great and the pieces are just UGLY.  As for their tattooer? a total joke, this kids  "portfolio" includes some failry nice and a whole mess of ugly tattoos with barely kept lines and ugly designs.  He's probably got one or two masterpieces, all the others are total crap.  OH YEAH I FORGOT, the imbecile was selling some kid a sack at the time i walked in, he tried to hide it, but the smell of dope and the look on his face told a different story. TALK ABOUT PROFESSIONAL!.  seling dope out of a college head shop that specializes in shitty tattoos and regretful piercings.  And the poor kid working there, saw some employee cleaning glass as I walked up, and i noticed as i checked out the store everything was already SPOTLESS!  meanwhile, the kid's manager im assuming, some tattooed out wannabe rocker who has no idea he's hit 55, walked in a few minutes later only to walk his butt back onto the patio to listenn to some crappy nirvana and flirt with every girl that walked by while his employee cleans glass that's already clean!!!!! what jokes.  i was the only customer and clearly the only one who had been in there for awhile from the look on that kid's face.  can't even let your employees sit on their butts and take it easy when there's no one around like any other normal business huh?  this place is SUCH CRAP, there's cheaper glass ALL OVER IV, and much better places to get tattoos that you probably won't regret in the morning

UPDATED: The owner and manager of the shop are obviously really committed to their business and providing good services. In my original review I was miffed because the woman at the front charged me $7 to have the ball on the end of my tragus replaced when I had only just gotten it pierced there the day before. The manager and owner were both very kind and apologized and gave me a refund. They obviously care about running a quality shop with good customer service.

And as for the quality of the piercing itself (the most important part, eh?): Excellent!

I went in today to get my first tattoo.  Obviously, I was extremely nervous.  The tattoo artist knew what he was doing though, and advised me about how best to get lettering that would last for a long time.  i got a simple phrase on my foot, and he knew the best way to put it.

He was much nicer than I anticipated, talked me through it, and gave me detailed explanation about care and what to expect.  Overall, I'm very happy.

When I was in college at UCSB, I had two piercings done at Precious Slut and one fix-up. As someone whose body isn't very sensitive to piercings, I have never had very negative experiences. My piercings done at Precious Slut were my 4th and 5th, and both were done professionally and cleanly, and they looked great!

When I got my tragus pierced, my friend got her tongue pierced and the 1-2 times that either of us had problems, they remembered us and would charge little or nothing to re-pierce or fix whatever we came to them with (note: none of these were infection-related...usually problems with the hole closing up, or lost jewelry).

1 year later, I got my belly button pierced with a friend who got her nose pierced, and we had a similar positive experience. I don't remember the piercings themselves costing too much more than my first piercings, though their jewelry sold separately is pretty expensive. To be honest, I don't mind paying more for the peace of mind that comes with clean, good quality jewelry. For a place with "slut" in the name that sells bongs and (last time I checked) salvia, I consider Precious Slut to be a trustworthy place to get pierced.

Went here with my friend to get her nose pierced on her birthday. The man helping us out first with paperwork and buying the necessary cleaning materials was very nice and relaxed. The piercing room was small and sanitary, and the guys let me go in with my friend. The actual piercer was really chill and helped my friend feel at ease during the actual piercing. He was quick and careful with his work. Only setback is that they didn't have the color jewelry my friend wanted (just the classic clear crystal look), but she ended up choosing another that looked just as good. Also, she got a Precious Slut t-shirt since it was her birthday. I would go back here to get a piercing myself.

I've had all of my piercings done here: my tragus, both rooks, and my belly button. My initial experience getting pierced at another shop back in the Bay left me with really bad anxiety about getting pierced. However, when I met Dick at Slut he helped me put all my fears behind me. I could not be happier with how all of my piercings have turned out and I intend to get more soon! The owner is also such a sweet heart and I love just coming by to say hi when he is in town and hanging out on the patio. Everyone at the shop has my deepest respect and I would encourage everyone to check it out and get something done!

I would honestly just never go here. I feel bad because the owner/manager guy is very friendly but I have had three horrible experiences. I got my nose pierced here. I told the piercer I wanted a ring eventually and that I wanted to put a ring in. He put the dot a bit high when I told him I thought it looked too high he disagreed.
So after the allotted healing time I decided to make the switch but found it insanely difficult because .. hm surprise surprise the ring wasn't big enough, the hole was too high!! I went in to ask for another ring and for the piercer to put it in for me. He checked it out and said this won't work, your holes to high, who pierced that? I said YOU DID! Naturally I wanted to strangle him for being so stupid. Eventually I just took it out.

Then with a different pierced I went to get my tongue pierced. The guy was very friendly and it all seemed sanitary but once again the placement was so weird. It was literally so far back! My boyfriend couldn't even tell it was there when we kissed because it was so far back.

So I obviously wasn't having much luck with my piercings, so what about tattoos you might ask?

My best friend came to visit me and because her nickname is tree she got a leaf on her ankle. The guy was totally awful! The tattoo looked childish. Not only was it not a close replica to the black and white sketch they had decided on but the coloring looked awful, like as in he was the toddler of all tattoo artists.

Eventually she got someone to go over it and fix it a little but she's still embarrassed by it.

Selling bongs, shirts, being tatted and pierced, and sitting outside smoking cigs does not make them  talented tattoo artists or piercers. Please go elsewhere, even if its just a spur of the moment piercing that you can't imagine they could f*** up that bad.. because they will.

Amazing artistry, the staff is super talented and professional.  Have driven from Anaheim to Santa Barbara several times to have work done, along with my wife and kids.

    Can't recommend this shop enough.

Jinx is an amazing artist, Schmoe and Dick are super talented as well.

Super clean shop, awesome staff, really a cool experience.  I've been inked at all of the company's locations, chain wide - top notch.

First and foremost, I have been to this place quite a few times and have watched many friends regret the work they've had done.

The piercing prices are ridiculous, number one. A cartilage piercing was $75. Number two, I watched one of the longest lip piercings EVER. Next, I saw the aftermath of an infection from a piercing. Then I watched one of the "artists" butcher a detailed tattoo-he took checker print that was supposed to be mirrored on two sides and made one half stripes! Honestly, for those college students looking to get a first piercing, tattoo, or a new one of either, don't go here. A tattoo is something you have for life (most of the time), and is an investment. I just know that if it was me, I'd rather do the research and find someone I trust to do a great job. Removal or cover-ups hurt and end up costing even more.

This is more of a shout out to my man, Tomac!! I'm not sure if he still works there, as I have lived back in Los Angeles for about two years now, but if he does, by all means rest assured that you are in good hands. He puts his heart into his work. Whether he's tatting or piercing, he will treat you well.

I have a darker tone and have talked to a few other artists who say that they will not put any color on my skin, but after three or four years my color pieces look as awesome as the day I got them.

    Truly an artist...

He has a bit of a gentle hand, which is great for someone who is new to the experience or is planning on getting a larger peice done. I have sat for about 15-20 hours under his needle, and have never felt anything more than some discomfort.

The shop has a bit of a boutique feel, but it is bright and makes me feel like I'm in an art gallery or a store where I would buy a gift for a girlfriend or something.

I miss the times when I would stop in after a class or before a class to shoot the breeze or get some work done. Where are you dude? Hit me up!!!

    NEVER EVER GOING BACK!

worst piercing and painful job ever.
not only was my lip pierced incorrectly, but they wanted to charge me when I came back for them to fix it.

I ran out the store and went to LA where I know they'd do a good job.

    UPDATE:
So the store owner is pretty rad, has tons of good karma, and deserves a pat on the back. Although I still don't plan to go back for piercings, I may consider checking out the artists for my birthday tat.

This is a tattoo, piercing etc. place. This is a great place to get a peircing, at least from my experience. I got a lip peircing, which turned out very well. It never got infected and they gave me salt and told me what to get to clean it. It had healed perfectly. I also have had several friends besides myself and they never have any complaints either.

They may look scary LOL but they are super nice, professional, listen to what you want. The place isn't very big but it is very sanitary and they are willing to help you whenever you need it. You can come back if you have any questions as well. You just come in and they make you fill out some paper work and you're set.

However, do not 4get to pay! I filled out all the work and then got the piercing and then left. OOPS! I 4got to pay. Not entirely my fault they did not remember either. Nevertheless, they called me right away and I came back and paid. :D no problem.

Precious Slut: tattoos, piercings, and smoking accessories.  The staff has always been nice when I've been in here.  It's not very big, but it's clean and organized.

I have friends who have gotten their nipples and tongues pierced here.  The piercers are very professional and sanitary.  I've never heard a complaint.

I wanted the phrase "Everything happens for a reason" inked on me for quite awhile, and one day I decided I would just go and do it.  I walked in and was greeted right away.  I told them what I wanted, although I wasn't sure where to place it or what size.  I talked to Tomac, and I ended up deciding to put it down my ribcage.  We decided on an approximate size and the font.  We then set an appointment for that evening.

I came in and Tomac had it printed out.  I didn't like the size, so we fixed it a bunch of times until I was certain that it was perfect.  He was super nice about it!  The actual tattoo took about 30-45 minutes I would say.  I'm not sure, because I was distracted by the pain.  That sh*t hurts!  He was pretty gentle though, so I know it was probably the least painful it could be.  We finished and he gave me all the aftercare info.

It healed up quite nicely and I'm totally satisfied with it.

I guess I can't fully recommend them because my tattoo was really simple, but I think they're definitely worth checking out.
