If there were a 6,7 or even a 10 star that is what I would give Laura Crow!! She is amazing! her fine lines are just that FINE!! her studio is peaceful and inviting!
there are not a lot of people that go in and out every minute while you are on the chair! It's nice that you get one on one with her! She takes care of your needs and what you want. you can definatley count on walking out of there with a beautiful tat!
and when someone comments on your tat, you can be proud to say, "yep, Laura Crow over at the Red Crow Studio did it!, She's Awsome!!!
So,the next time you are wondering where to go to get your first tat, or a full body piece..... Laura Crow at the Red Crow Studio!
Unless things have again changed, Laura now spends most of her time up in Canada, only coming down to her shop every few months. If you can manage to get hold of her (we've had difficulty with this), her artwork is as amazing as ever.
It is quite sad to adore her artistry and not be able to get in contact with her! Hopefully things even out soon and she manages to become available again.
In the spring of 2011 while living in San Diego, I spent a couple months pondering my first--and only--tattoo. Once I decided that I definitely wanted it, I devoted more than a few hours to online research for who I wanted to ink me. Based on the quality of her online portfolio, I decided to send Laura Crow an email to schedule an appointment. Despite unforeseen events, she responded to me in a timely fashion & got me studio time in less than 2 weeks. She had the artwork I sent her ready as an outline & copied a couple scaled images of it upon request. Together, we decided on the perfect size.
For the 4-hour masterpiece adorning my left scapula, she charged me $400. Not too shabby. It looks great. Her studio is classy, clean, & comfortable. Plus, she seems like a very righteous woman. I highly recommend her to anyone in the San Diego area looking for a great tattoo artist & experience.
I was recommended Laura by a co-worker. When I emailed her, she didn't even have the decency to respond back. How unprofessional! I've been told she is more expensive than other awesome tattoo artists in town, but I wanted to go to her based on the recommendation. Guess she's too busy or my tattoo request was too unworthy for her time.
Review Source:Let me first start off by saying that Laura Crow has given me the best tattoo I've ever gotten. Â That having been said, let me go into the atmosphere of this place.
People stop by to say hello. Â They share ideas and stories. Â It's more than a tattoo shop, it's an artistic community. Â The shop itself is clean and tasteful. Â There are portfolios of tattoo designs rather than generic tattoo posters and wallpapers. Â This is NOT the place to stumble into when you are drunk to get matching BFF tats. Â This is the place to put into action the tattoo that you have been thinking and dreaming up for years. Â And honestly, how many female tattoo artists do you know? Â That alone charges this place with a centered, empowering energy that makes you excited to create a wonderful piece of body art.
I've known laura for a good while now. She's an incredible artist and is such a good person. I've had a complete half sleeve done as well as a decently sized leg piece. Justin is awesome as well. His artwork is mind blowing at best. The vibe inside is very welcoming and there's always incredible art displayed in the gallery.
Review Source:Over the past few months I have been working on a full sleeve with Justin Cota here at Red Crow. Â Justin is an amazing artist. Â He is very easy to work with and he has a keen eye for detail.
The actual studio is quaint, clean and very artsy. Â This is a very classy shop. Â I have not been to a nicer one.
Highly recommended. Â Go see Justin and tell him I sent you, okay? Â Thanks.
I would recommend both the tattoo artists working here to anyone.
First off, the studio has a great feeling and atmosphere. They have different art-work up every month from a different local artist. There is a huge fish tank when you walk in as well, and its very neat and clean.
I see Justin Cota, he did a beautiful deer on my arm that I get compliments from everyday, hes also working on other stuff for me as well. Hes good at what he does, and easy to communicate with.
Laura Crow is so nice as well! Â However, I haven't personally got tattooed by her, but i've seen her work in progress and finished work and its all amazing.
The prices arent too bad, but your paying for some good artwork.
My very first tattoo experience rocked! Â I had a small scar on my back from some plastic surgery, and wanted to cover it. Â I visited several studios, and just never got a good feel from them. Â Also, the different artists I spoke to wanted to take my design ideas and twist them into their idea of what I wanted. Â We just happened to have brunch at Urban Solace around the corner, and I Yelped tattoo studios. Â We walked over to The Red Crow, and I was amazed! Â What a beautiful place! Â It's an art gallery with tattoo stations artfully tucked into it. Â Laura is amazing, and I knew right away that this was the place for me. Â She loved my ideas, and tweaked them just a bit to create the perfect tattoo for me. Â
When I arrived for my appointment, I was ushered to a tattoo area behind a beautiful fish tank wall. Â It was very relaxing to watch the fish swim around while I was being tattooed. Â Laura is easy to talk to, and has some great life stories. Â My design took about an hour and a half to complete, and I was given thorough after care instructions. Â She asked me to come back in 2 weeks so she could check it and take a picture. Â
The only down side is the parking. Â Make sure you arrive a little early for your appointment so you can find street parking. Â
Thank you Laura for easing my anxieties and making this such a great experience!
My dad and I both recently had Laura at Red Crow Studio do our tattoos and the whole experience was wonderful. She was great over email contact, I met her in person with some of my ideas, she produced a PERFECT sketch the first time around, and had the stencils ready to go when we arrived for our appointment. The whole experience was fantastic and we're both very happy with our tattoos. My dad's is small and Laura's attention to detail and color are just stunning! And her prices were very reasonable considering we were having custom work done in a private studio. Her space is clean and relaxed and she allowed some friends of ours to be there as well to be a part of the experience. I definitely recommend her as a professional and interesting tattoo artist. You won't be disappointed! I will definitely be back to her for my next tattoo, and recommend her to family and friends!
Review Source:I have seven tattoos and this experience was far and away the best. Â First off the artist- Laura did a custom piece for me in the space of a week. Â She took the ideas/themes that I gave her and translated them into a piece that exceeded my wildest hopes. Â She not only is a talented artist in her own right, but she designed my new art in harmony with my other tattoos. Â Consequently, my two back pieces complement each other perfectly.
The studio is wonderful. Â Tucked away in a very quiet corner of North Park, Laura has the studio decorated in a sparse, zen-like feel that gives off warm vibes of peace and creativity. Â She shows art on the walls rather than lining up hundreds of folders of stock tattoos that are a staple of most tattoo shops. Â Which underscores that this is an artist's studio. Â The experience is deeply personal, and the clean, comfortable furniture lets you know that you are in good, caring hands.
Laura's great to chat with, she plays good tunes out of some killer speakers, and is very attentive during the whole process. Â Reasonable prices, too. Â She specializes in Japanese styling, but the one she did for me is traditional and it's better than any others that I have.
If you're thinking of some new ink, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Red Crow Studio.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Â Laura Crow is THE BEST! Â I had admired her art work for years before I knew she was a tattoo artist as well. Â She has a gentle hand, amazing skills and a new art gallery/tattoo studio. Â It's a very comfortable setting for getting work done. Â She is doing a back piece for me and I get so many compliments on it, that it's ridiculous! Â The art gallery has amazing work, what a great idea! Â I can't recommend Laura enough if you are wanting a tattoo by a really talented artist. Â I am so proud to have a one of a kind Laura Crow piece of art on my back! Â And she's a kick ass chick too!
Review Source:The Red Crow Studio is a Art gallery slash private Tattoo studio owned and operated by Laura Crow. I have gotten several tattoos from Laura and she does amazing work. She does great custom work, ranging from potraits to what ever you can come up with in your head. My last tattoo from her is a half sleeve of a Japenese dragon, I gave her the idea and she just drew it right on my arm and went to work. I wouldnt go any where else. Thank you Laura !!
