I really wish I would have just waited for an appointment with my regular tattoo artist, but instead I came here because I'm impatient. I just got a simple wrist tattoo done, just one word, and from the get go the customer service was not great. I was greeted (not very warmly may I add), and then I spoke with one of the artists about hat unwanted done. He gave me a bit of a hard time with the design, which was pretty simple, but he gave me some crap about it being too small. Finally in the end he made it work and gave me what I asked for. The ambiance isn't all that great, but I guess it's pretty average for a tattoo shop. I just didn't really like the people there. I went back in to get it touched up, and they said the artist wasn't there because he just didn't show up (on a day he was supposed to be there.) So then I had to go back. So frustrating. He did an ok job, but I definitely could have been better, and I'm sorry I didn't wait and go somewhere better. I would not recommend this shop.

i've never had a problem and have always had a good experience since my artist was sam. but when i went on sat the 20th 2013 it became awful because i was ignored. i had a big piece and wanted a meeting with peter but as much as i yelled for someone to help, nobody helped. two of the costumers looked around (to see if someone that was there would help) and no one helped me and that felt akward with everyone. two of the guys there where just on there phone and i knew they saw me because when i walked in, they all looked at me. it was bad but if the manager is reading this, please contact me because i had a problem trying to get in contact with you.... eli.lopez@yahoo.com. i would glady tell you you what happened but it is something that should have not happen. i probably would have had my tattooed last week. it really felt bad (really ignored). please contact me, manager/owner.

I'm a fan!
If you need to get some work done, make an appointment with Peter. You won't regret it. :)

I got my first tat here a year ago, and decided to come here after getting several recommendations from friends to go to Peter. He's the owner of the shop with tats on his face, but don't let his looks scare you. He's very professional, engages with his clients, and he has some really great work.
His shop is very clean so even if you don't get work done by Peter, ask for some of his other tattoo artists.

I'm very picky with my tattoo placement and sizing, and Peter's had to re-stencil both my tattoo because I've changed my mind more than once after he's placed it on me. I know how annoying that can get, but he's been very patient and makes you feel comfortable. (He probably knows who this is after reading this part haha) One of the main reasons I keep coming back to him, referring other friends, and will get more work done at Resurrection Tattoo is because Peter's been a pleasure to work with. He'll work with your schedule, and unlike other artists who make you wait a year before getting your first appointment, he'll always try his best to make time.

He's done my sister and boyfriends tattoo, and the boyfriend and I are still getting work done by him. I only have two small tattoos but my boyfriend got his whole back done here and it looks amazing.

For those who want a tattoo but are scared to get one because of the pain, trust me and go to Peter. I was in the same boat, but he's light handed and I've been fine with both my tattoos (rib & spine - two spots people say hurt alot)

Their prices are reasonable & works are amazing so check them out!

Great place to get work done. Rocky did my piece, and although I cant speak on the other artists there, the portfolio work looks solid. Anyway, Rocky did my tat, he def knows how to sling ink, it turned out sick.

Got a tattoo done by Rocky today and he's awesome! Nice clean and sanitary working station, he doesn't touch stuff he's not suppose to be touching with his gloved hands, very professional, good sense of humor and he keeps you company during a long session. I LOVE the work he did on me today. This is a really talented guy. Thanks Rocky and I'll be back! ;-)

Edward worked on my tattoo. He's friendly & nice... and so the other guys in the shop. Usually they mind their own business, and do whatever they have to do. The shop is clean and chill. Edward is good, you should ask for him.

Fan of resurrection tattoo. Got my 1st tattoo here. (3 years ago)

Walking in, i was a little nervous. Gosh who wouldnt be when theres needles about to puncture your skin & you KNOW its gonna hurt?!

The friend and i wanted something matching, but not the typical girly crap. We wanted something that would symbolize who we were. Something that we both had in common. The gentlemen had us look through a booklet that had everything. Having too many pages to go through and not liking anything by the 10th page we decided to get a japanese symbol that meant "love of friendships" It would mean to us that we would be willing to do whatever for our friends. There were 3 guys and they were cracking jokes and asking if we were really ready for it. The typical boys will be boys stuff. I told them "do we look like chickens?" They answered yes. Did i mention i had my little 13 year old sister with me? i know, im such the bad girl cause now she wants tattoos

They accepted only cash and we only had our cards so we had to leave to go to an ATM. As we left they said have a good day, assuming we wouldn't be back. Girly girls.. yes.. chickens... no.

Ten minutes later we returned and they asked us which we wanted. The asian guy Nobu.. or the white guy. Of course my friend picks the asian guy cause shes a phlip. I got the white guy, no biggie. My sister (being a horrible sister) goes and hold my friends had because shes scared. C'mon what about me i scream?! So a couple regulars who had just gotten some work done come around me and start cracking some joke.. then they start hitting on me. Good way to lighten the mood. It was nice, not over the top. They actually we're making me laugh so hard that they guy doing my tattoo told them to stop cause they were making me move.

All together the symbol cost me $60 and then i tipped $25

It was a great first experience, i'd go back and get my tattoo there if i lived in the area, but i dont. My friend though has gone back many times to Nobu.

Absolutely love Resurrection Tattoo!

When I decided to get a tattoo for my 20th birthday I had originally planned on going to Shogun since peopled raved about how great it was. So not true! As soon as i stepped into shogun i was immediately asked "what are you doing here?" in an extremely rude way. Wtf morons why do people go into tattoo shops for? Once i showed them the tattoo i wanted i was turned away saying they were unable to do such a tattoo. I was baffled and disappointed, considering it was just a bird I wanted. As I was leaving I noticed Resurrection and decided to give it a try. As soon as i walked in I was immediately welcomed and taken care of. Once I showed Sam my drawing he quickly said "no problem, where do you want it?". He made getting my tattoo a great experience with his jokes and comments.

I'm definitely getting the rest of my tattoos done here.

Peter is hands down one of the best tattoo artists in this area. I love his work. He fixed my arm and I couldn't be happier. This place gets real busy thou so I highly recommend making an appointment.

I looked around for a couple of different tattoo shops in Pasadena because I believe if you can "buy locally," you should.
I had gone to Incognito (on Colorado Blvd.) for a couple of other pieces of work, which were very good but I was less than impressed by the whole 'tattoo artist attitude' they had going on.
I went to Resurrection to get one of my pieces touched up and add a few other details... what a joke. (The worst part is, I really liked my artist. He was very nice and went through the ideas I had with me. He had a good looking portfolio, too.)
The accent lines he added to my other tattoo were shaky and incomplete in areas; they look like they were done by a 2-year old. And the additions to my other tattoo, well, let's just say I should have left it the way it was.

Don't waste your time (or money) here.

If you read Caitlin M's review below, I just want to say that the same thing happened to me when i went there! I had gotten their business card from the tattoo expo and decided to go there. I walked in with a friend and was COMPLETELY ignored for about 30 minutes while other customers were getting tattooed and pierced.

Then my friend and I went down the street to Shogun Tattoo, where Charles was super nice and friendly and tattooed me immediately! Shogun also has private tattooing rooms, and Resurrection does not. Also, there was lots of dust bunnies all over the floor and a bunch of creepy guys standing outside smoking.

If you're int he area already, I say just go down the street to Shogun, they do great work!

This place is the shit. My Tat artist is Nobu. He is very detailed and will not hesitate to tell you that you're Tat won't look good that way or this way. He'll give you ideas. Peter, is the owner.
Their whole crew there is very laid back.

I've sent several friends to this place and now they won't go anywhere else.

If you plan on getting inked I suggest you try this place out. The price is right and pressure is non existent.

I haven't gotten work done "yet", but I will soon..

However, I did take a friend of mine here earlier this year to get his tat and he was more than happy with it. Nobu did his work and it was just flawless. I was even impressed.

My sister, Liyah, has gotten a lot of work from here and she keeps coming back due to Nobu's fine artistry and originality. Much kudos to this place.

i'm not prolly the type who u would think would get one, but i sure did!

hot mama and i have been talking about getting one, my very first, her fourth. we never really planned a day to do it. sunday just happened to be the day!

there was only one customer being attended to when we walked in so that was perfect timing. i already know what i wanted so it was up to sam to work on it. being this my first time, they were pretty cool about it and very laid back. i had mine done first since hot mama can't decide yet what she wants done. it was a toss up between two ideas. she was darn surprised i didn't grip her hands thru the whole process! i have a pretty high tolerance for pain and wasn't worried much about it but more on the expectation of the whole process. once the needle touched my skin, there was that tingling sensation in your body.. sadistically tingling, i say. now i get what angelina jolie meant! in the end, i got marked for life and it was done in perfection. no regrets.

Sam, who does my husband's work is truly gifted, detailed and patient. He values your business and loyalty and because of that makes this place very enjoyable.

This tattoo place is pretty chill, everyone is really coo and laidback. The pricing is average, I talked to jay about my 2 half-sleeves and he quoted me for 600 for each. However, I didn't go through with it with ressurection tattoo, I found Inkfiend Tattoo Art Studio in Alhambra. Although he is more expensive and i spendt 2.5x more my tattoo is really detailed and truly amazing.

wow..i dont know how this place has any positive reviews. When I went in there, I was completely and totally ignored for about half an hour while every guy who walked in after me was warmly welcomed and helped. It was seriously like I didnt exist. and...since I was in there to experience pain and spend a lot of money, this didnt really bode well with me. Not to mention the place was not as clean as I would like a place who is going to shove needles in my skin to be.

I finally just walked out, I was so disgusted. I went to Shogun tattoo down the street and had a much better experience. I complained about my experience at Resurrection and they told me that they always have to fix work that the artists there have done. And these guys at Shogun have been doing this a long time and been voted many times as Pasadena's best tattoo shop.

If I could give it negative stars, I would.

I've gotten 3 tattoos there by Jay and Asian Sam plus my belly button pierced by Pete and I keep going back for more. The guys there are friendly and professional plus they make you feel comfy while you're there which I think is important. If you get a chance feel free to walk in and check out their portfolios.

This place is pretty awesome. They are very busy on the weekends. While I was there with Walter to check out some work done by Dru (one of several artists), I noticed that their creative works had earned them several awards for being the #1 place in CA for having the best "asian" themed ink work. THat's awesome. I'm sad, though, now that their expert in filipino ink isn't there anymore. I think he was affectionately referred to as MOKO. If anyone knows where he went, please let him know that he has customers lookin' for him!! Too bad INK is permanent, if it weren't, I would have tons by now. I love so many of their designs. It's hard to pick just one or two. Placements is even more difficult for me to figure out. Oh yeah, they do some awesome piercings too. Clit piercings are $100. Webbing is $80 on up and tongue piercing is like $60-70. Tattoos start at a minimum of $50. Of course, they go up in price depending on what you're lookin' for. Still, this place is pretty awesome. Even better, they're real clean & sterile with their stuff!

After calling around to a bunch of tattoo shops, Resurrection was the last one I called for a quote. They were friendly and helpful, and I went in the next day for my tattoo. While many shops are filled with surly artists full of attitude, the guys here were welcoming and nice, and ready to answer any questions I had. I would highly recommend Sam or Drew, as I have seen much of their work.
