Friendly staff who really want to genuinely help you. The piercer guy (I think his name was Michael) was so knowledgable and his knowledge really made me feel comfortable. Which is important when you are piercing something or getting a tattoo.
I came into the shop after purchasing two small titanium nose studs that I was told to bend at home and cut with nail clippers (from Rockabilly jewelry kiosk [not officiated anymore with this company I believe). I didn't feel comfortable with doing that so I looked for a piercing shop to help. My original piercer shop argued with me about my contact dermatitis and their metals, arguing that their metals wouldn't cause an allergy, so obviously I wasn't going to go back there. So I found Rockabilly Tattoo and Piercing.
They personally cleaned and fitted the two nose studs to my nose for $15. Then, afterwards I decided to purchase some titanium earrings since my ears had been having some severe contact dermatitis and literally blistering and popping over and over again. They gave me an awesome deal since I had to buy 5 sets for each ear (10 earrings altogether). They special ordered them for me and had the earrings within 3 days.
If you need a piercer, or even some jewelry, go see Michael!
I have been to Tattoo shops in over 13 different countries, Rockabilly has to be the top 1!!!!! Great service, Military friendly, Highest health standards!!!! Â Michael took an old beat up tribal and turned it into art! The rest of the staff are very professional and highly talented!!! If your in San diego, this is your spot!!!
Review Source:Michael is awesome! I've been here a couple of times and have gone to Michael both times and could not be happier with his work! Ive been to other tattoo shops to get ink but this is now my 'go to' shop. Clean place, friendly staff, and great work being out out. I will defiantly be coming here for future work.
Review Source:Met Mike last year after the shop opened around Christmas and later found out my family had gotten me a gift certificate for the shop. I don't know why I waited so long but a year later I go strolling in gift certificate in hand ready to go. I had met Karin the day before and after discussing what I had in mind she said I would be better off talking with Mike as he specialized more with tribal than she did . I appreciated her telling me that up front. Anyways, Ispoke briefly with Mike and decided to allow his artistic mind to design my work and I couldn't be happier with the results. He brought a 20 year old eagle back to life and added some nice tribal around it. This guy is a true professional. I look forward to working with him again.
Review Source:I recently had a cicada put on my left inner bicep by Michael. Â I had a couple of scheduling changes, but I called a few days before, and he was able to move me around. Â When I got there, I had brought a different design than what we had originally discussed. Â He quickly and efficiently drew up a new design. Â Even with the hubs griping in the background (he does not like tattoos and fears that in spite of a graduate degree and an impending JD, I will somehow become an unemployed outcast on an off ramp, forcing him into a life as a Filipino Lady Boy), he was patient and even natured. Â We got it down to a size that I was happy with, and it was on.
4 days later, it is healing nicely. Â It is still a bit tender, but it doesn't itch and I have gotten a ton of compliments on it. Â Everyone mentions the colors -- striking. Â This was my first colored piece, and I am very happy with it. Â I will definitely be back to get my originally planned design (a flapper). Â Most t-shirts cover this, and God knows I won't be wearing sleeveless dresses in court that may show my arms, so it's a non-issue in that sense (dress for court is extremely conservative). Â
Michael played some decent country music (not that God awful Zak Brown chicken frying song, but Dixie Chicks, etc.) during the process, and that pacified the Hubs some -- he loves country music. Â
Process took about 2 hours, and I won't lie -- it hurts. Â It's a very tender area of your body with a lot of nerves. Â It was never unbearable, though, and I actually found myself getting sleep towards the end. Â
Michael and the staff are very nice; and he has a super cute picture of him and his wife up on his computer desktop (or maybe it was Facebook). Â He has done a lot of work on his granddaughter, and they're just a really cute family.
To paraphrase the Gropenator, I will be back.
I went in to the shop w/out an appointment & was helped right away by "Lil Mike". I had been wanting a tragus piercing for a long (long) time, but always chickened out. I happened to find this place while walking around the mall & it looked super nice & clean (probably one of the cleanest tattoo/piercing shops I've ever seen). I figured since I was there & had the courage at the moment..why not! Everyone in there was super nice. I always thought this piercing would hurt really bad, seeing as its a lot of cartilage, but Mike did such a good job that I barely felt it! I would definitely recommend coming here for your next piercing! :]
Review Source:A couple of years ago, my daughter got her ears pierced at a Claire's. They sold us some solution to clean her ears. Her lobes got infected; one had cellulitis, which was gnarly. We had to take out her studs.
Her pediatrician said this time, to go to a tattoo place because those places are kept way more sterile. We came in here, and Chris pierced her ears.
He told us to never use anything but some saline (like for contacts) on the ears; anything else would mess it up. He was quick and clean. It's been a month, and my daughter's had no problems with her ears. They're healing beautifully.
I have been going to Michael for several years now. My husband goes to Michael as well. There are many reasons why I go to him. One he is a really good artist who takes his time and concentrates on what he is doing. His work matters to him. Michael not only cares about the integrity of his work and how it appears to you, he cares about how it will reflect towards Rockabilly's. I am over 50 years old, so it is important that an artist knows how to tattoo different skins. You cannot just jump in and tattoo on someone. Michael is a seasoned artist with a lot of experience. He knows what he is doing and takes all factors into consideration. My age and skin being one of them. He is a good ole' biker that takes good care of his clients. I love him and I will keep going back for more and more and more...as long as my skin holds up and I have space left...Michael is the one for me...Try him and you will see.
Review Source:I've had a few piercings done by Chris. Â He's very professional, gives advice, answeres questions and makes you feel totally comfortable. Â A couple weeks after getting my septum pierced, my retainer fell out and I couldn't get it back in...luckily, I live down the street and I drove over and he put it back in for me-free of charge! Â I did tip him though :)
The shop overall is very clean and well run....the staff is all very friendly and knowledgable. Â I'll def be back to see Chris for some more piercings!!
I walked into Rockabilly with my daughter and decided to finally make the decision to have my nose piercing done. I spoke with Chris the first time I walked into the shop and knew that this would be the place that I would return when the time was right.
The Shop is very clean, well organized and the staff are really friendly. Chris was off the day I came back to the shop, however Little Mike was working. After chatting with him for a bit, I felt very comfortable with allowing him to do the piercing. Although he is young, he is very professional and very good at what he does. Â He was quick to respond that he has been taught by the best, (meaning Chris). Â Little Mike knows what to do and does it well. I would definately come back to this shop to have any future piercing done by Chris or Little Mike. Â
Thanks Little Mike for taking such good care of me and my daughter.

I absolutely love Michael Meo!
Everyone in this shop is extremely friendly and caring. I have been going back to Michael after he did my 3rd tattoo in 2009, when he was working for a different shop. Since then he has done 6 additional tattoos on me. He is always extremely honest and straight forward about the process and price. I have several other pieces done by other artists that don't even compare to the pieces Michael has done. Tattoo fever will always get you in trouble. :-) My boyfriend and his brother both got tattoos from him and they all look fantastic clean and straight.
So if you want an honest quick clean tattoo you have to go check out Rockabilly Tattoo and find Michael Meo!
Karin is awesome! I had a tattoo that I wanted to cover up and have redone. She gave me a great idea for the cover up and I'm so happy with the results! She was thorough and went through all of the sterilization procedures with me. Karin also went through the healing process with me and very clear on what I had to do to keep the area clean so it didn't get infected. She did an amazing job. I highly recommend this place. It's very clean and everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable. I may have to go back for another piercing (or tatt)!
Review Source:Came in here for my first piece. Good size with a fair amount of fill, the artist (Mike) wanted to make very sure that I was ready for a 3-4 hour sitting on my first go, which I can appreciate.
The shop is very clean, and the staff are all really friendly. They get you seated, comfortable, and they get right to work. I never felt like the artist was dawdling or wasting time. They're completely transparent on they're sterilization procedures, which is fantastic.
They're more than ready to fix you up if you start feeling light headed mid-piece, and once you're back they just keep right on going. Watching the piercer and other tattoo artist do their work while I got it done, they all seemed to be just as fast and effective. I watched people come and go in good time for piercings and smaller designs. They were all happy with the work, and had no qualms whatsoever about the very fair pricing.
I'd highly recommend these guys, and they'll be getting my cash when I'm ready to add more to my canvas.
