I can't say enough good things about The Rose!
I was so happy when I heard a bunch of the Aloha Monkey crew had set up their own shop. It took me a while to get out there, but I am so glad I finally did, instead of looking for somewhere closer to home.
The shop is bright, clean and open. The vibe is very welcoming. I had been used to a shop that was a lot darker and it was very refreshing to walk into a well lighted shop. On top of the open floor plan, the music is eclectic and fun and I have caught myself jamming along several times.
I had an interesting tattoo in mind and I had a hard time choosing who I wanted to go to... Mostly because the artists are all amazing, but also because I wasn't 100% certain whose style would compliment my tattoo the best. I spoke with Will and he knew exactly who I should see and found me an appointment that fit my schedule. The price I was quoted was very reasonable for a large and colorful piece. I ended up paying less than the original quote, so I made up the difference + with my tip. Very worth it.
Two weeks and a good dose of nervousness later, I came back and got my amazing tattoo. My tattoo artist was Kyle and he immediately put me at ease. He was very friendly and very professional. I had no idea what to expect, since it is an open floor plan and I was going to be topless, as it was a chest piece. They had blinds that they brought out to shield me from prying eyes.
Honestly, I forgot I was topless. Kyle was nothing but professional. He never once made me uncomfortable in the 3 1/2 hours it took to finish. He was very personable and easy to talk to. It would have been so easy to just sit and be awkward, but that just wasn't the case. He was open, funny and didn't mind at all when I was asking a million questions or when I was silent towards the end.
He did such an amazing job!!!!! I get so many compliments and so many people asking where I got it done/who my artist was. I wish I had his business cards to pass around lol. I have since been back for two more and a small touch up on my chest piece. Â Same amazing experience.
I have also gotten tattoos by Josh and Marx and a piercing by Ryan, back when they were in Burnsville and they were all wonderful and professional as well.
The Rose is definitely the place to go!
Did a walk-in here and the service was great. The artist, Adam, had nice clean lines a does a great job on the shading. My only concern is that the tattoo came out just a slight bit larger then how I printed it. Not a big deal, but I was trying to match up size with another one I already have.
I would definitely come here again and for custom design work.
SUPER experience at Rose - couldn't be more pleased. The shop is clean, staff is friendly and welcoming, the vibe is low-key and relaxed.
Jesse McNally did my tattoo and she took my images collected online, and created something to embody the elements I liked. She was very helpful about the pieces I was indecisive about. She made sure I liked the pattern before we started. Jesse had answered many of my questions by email and that prepared me somewhat for what to expect for my first tattoo. She made sure I was comfortable and once she began I let out a huge sigh of relief because I'd expected it to be far more painful.
I LOVE the lotus tattoo Jesse gave me and cannot endorse her highly enough. The pattern looked beautiful but seeing the actual tattoo in color on my skin put me at a loss for words. Jesse is a talented artist and tattooist.
GREAT experience at this shop. I've been to a few others in the area, and for someone like me (outwardly conservative in a job that frowns on body art), there are certain vibes I need to steer clear of when I look for ink. Â
Rose of No Man's Land can cater to all clientele. Â My tattoo was done by Marx, who took a vague picture and listened to what I wanted, and drew up the most perfect little tattoo that I wouldn't have ever envisioned. The price was right, and I was able to have it done the same day.
My favorite thing about this shop is how professional it feels. It's *clean* and bright, with a cool but edgy aesthetic. Also, they accept cards.
Yesterday I got an AMAZING tattoo from Kyle. I wanted a tattoo of my first guinea pig, Frisky, so I brought in some pictures about a month and a half ago so he could do a drawing for me. When I went in last night and saw the drawing he came up with - a happy guinea pig with flowers and a banner with FRISKY in it - I was thrilled. Then, once he was done with the tattoo and I saw all the coloring, I was ecstatic!! I honestly couldn't be happier with his work! He is clearly a really talented artist. He is super nice and easy to work with too. I highly recommend Kyle - especially if you want a guinea pig tattoo. :-)
And yes, Minneapolitans, you have to take 94 East ALL THE WAY PAST 494/694 - but a perfect tattoo is worth the drive!!
I got my first tattoo here last week, and it was a fantastic experience! I was definitely nervous, but everyone put me at ease, and Josh sketched up exactly what I wanted, Â much better than I ever sketched it! All in all, it was very clean, friendly, and most importantly- I love my new tattoo, it is beautiful and exactly what I'd pictured. I would definitely reccomend going to Rose.
Review Source:Just got my first tattoo at Rose of No Man's Land in Woodbury yesterday. It was a great experience. Kyle Franklin did the work and it was masterful. I got a Green Bay Packer tribute tat.  It looks amazing.  I had been searching for just the right place to get my work done and am glad I stumbled upon Rose. The staff all have alot of experience. They do tat's and piercing's. When I first went there I didn't know exactly what I wanted done, but after talking to Kyle for a bit he seemed to read my mind and sketched the beginnings of a great piece of art.  And these tattoo's really are art.  Even if  you don't live in the east metro it's worth a drive to check these guys out.  AMAZING work!! Thanks Kyle.
