My sister was visiting me and we knew we wanted to get tattoos. It was 3 weeks out when I emailed the shop after looking through their facebook page and website. The shop manager emailed me back the following day and told me who was available the day I wanted and that I should come into the shop to talk to the artists.

I went in and looking at the artists portfolio and decided I like Albert Flores' work the best. He was there and talked to me about what I wanted. I brought picture idea of mine and my sister's tattoo. He said he could definitely do it and took down my info and scheduled me.

Albert is not good a communication. It was a week and a half until the appointment and had not gotten any drawings (He said he would email them). I emailed his email I found on the website and got no response after a few days, so I emailed the shop's main email. I got a phone call from Albert a few days later and he said he had emailed it to me.. I guess he entered my email incorrectly. He ended up texting the drawings to me. My sister wanted something changed so he said he would work on it and get back to me. I did not hear back from him until Monday before a Saturday tattoo. Everytime I text him a question, like How much for the tattoos? or Can you add this?, he would answer some questions, but not others. I had no idea how much we were paying until three days before the tattoo. I did not like that. I would have liked to know much earlier.

Besides his communication failures, Albert did an excellent job on both my sisters and my tattoos. He is truly an incredible artist. He needs to work on communication, but overall I would go back to him.

On a side note, I felt very comforted by the cleanliness of the shop. Even between my sister and I they sterilized everything including the table.

I went here with a friend to get a wrist tattoo, Anh was my artist. He was with a client when I walked in. While I was waiting all the artist that were there were chit chatting with the clients and made it very comfortable. Not only did Anh do a great job on my tattoo, he fixed a previous one that wasn't done so well. I love it more then I did origianlly. I would absolutely reccommend Salvation Tattoo if you're looking for a clean, fun and friendly place!!!

An did a piece for me. It was my first tattoo and he took the time to do exactly what I wanted. It was beautifully done. Love it. I plan to get my second one by him again. The only negative side was that I had to wait about an hr and half even though I set up an appt. but bc I love the job he did, I still gave it 5stars.

I was visiting California, stopped at a few tattoo shops in San Diego to get my first tatoo. I wanted a half sleeve and keep in mind I needed done asap. The shops I stopped at were a no go.  They needed weeks to draw the art work and time to adjust it and blah blah.
I traveled to North Cali and started researching the area for a shop that specialized in what I was looking for which was Polynesian tribal. I stopped by the salvation tatoo website, gave them a call and was referred to Mosa Fotu.
I called Mosa and talked to him briefly about what I wanted and when I needed it done.  I had about 4 days left in cali and Mosa said sure man no  problem. We sat down decided on the style day 1. Day 2 I approved the artwork.  Day 3 and 4 he knocked out this large piece and I love it.
Everybody in the shop has a great attitude. The place is clean, everybody is professional. Being my first tattoo I didn't know what to expect but the guys here are great and helped me through in a timely and painless lol manner.

    My first tattoo.
Had to visit twice since it took a while for the artist to get the design right.
    but it was worth it...

I would advice readers to be Patient and give the artist time to get your design sketch ready.

Skyler was the guy who did my tattoo and he was great. it did not hurt much... the pressure he used and the speed in which he did the tatto was incredible.

Just got my 3rd tattoo from here! (2 of them i got elsewhere). A friend recommended them to me and at first I emailed Albert, and didn't really get a reply. My husband kept telling me to go with An when we were reviewing their work, but i guess wives have a habit of not listening to husbands haha, that and from reading all the good reviews about An here, i figured he would be fully booked. However, when I contacted An through Facebook, he responded immediately. I tried to do a walk in yesterday & asked for Albert, but he was being weird, he said he was going to take his lunch, and he couldn't finish my tattoo in an hour and also said that if we would have come in an hour earlier...blahblahblah...Luckily An saved me from total heartbreak when he himself offered to do it for me the next day (today). I was stoked at his chivalry (lol) and that I would have him as an artist! So, I went in a few hours ago and gave him my design & asked him to tweak it a little bit. He did just that and even made it better! I almost fell asleep on the damn chair! He's that good! And took him a little under an hour to do! He was a bit on the quieter side, a man of few words i guess, but thats all cool, if he's super focused on my tat, awesome. The other guys make up for him when it comes to talking =)) I was surprised he charged me less than I expected/calculated. So awesome. Right now, everyone on FB be raving about my tattoo & asking where i got it done! I'll certainly be coming back for more & will be recommending to all of my friends =) Thanks AN!!!

Just got  home from my tattoo! Me and my friend went in as walk-ins (7PM) and luckily they weren't busy! both our tattoos were done by Albert. He was awesome and great to work with.  It was my first tattoo and I was a little nervous but all the guys in there were jokesters which made everything SO much more enjoyable and was a great distraction.   Sad I'm moving away.. as I would love to come back!

Salvation Tattoo Studio...What can I say, it was one of the most positive experience I have every had, and the Artist's Shana, Skylar and Che were extremely professional and talented.  It started about 6 weeks ago when I had to find a place for my two sons and father to get a tattoo together.  They have planning this since they were 5 years old.  Any way my oldest is in the Marine's and my father lives 3 hours away, not only did I need to find a place, but due to my sons leave, we only had one day that would work for an appointment, which was New Years Eve.  All three of the Artists came in one their day off to accommodate our tight schedule.  The Studio was extremely clean and using a top notch infection control program.  (I should know, because, I teach infection control and give an 8 hour state certification for CA) This was the first tattoo for my sons, and my dad 6th,  their work is exceptional!!!! It was exactly what they wanted and more.  They all got the same tattoo "Celtic Cross" it was amazing what Shana came up with from just a few notes. The pricing was great and well worth it.  I will recommend them to any one that is looking to get a tattoo.    I want to personally thank them all for their talent, professionalism and their care to detail.  THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salvation tattoo is the place to go! I just got my second tattoo here about 3 days ago and had a great experience! The people woking there are really nice and personable. Mosa!! Mosa is the guy to talk to about getting a tattoo! I emailed him and got a response within a few hours. He has a calm trait about him which made getting my tattoo that much easier. Although calm, he was funny and talkative as well! He took his time and it turned out beautifully! I have already recommended Salvation tattoo to two of my friends. This place is great!

So I gave them an extra star because anyone who thinks Getting a spur of the moment tattoo when their day drinking is kind of a tard, Anyhoo. So basically I get the bright idea and I'm cruising yelp for a reliable spot and I come across salvation tattoo. Place seems legit I give em a call let em know I just want the word discipline on my right shoulder and I want it today. They were cool enough to let me come down and twiddle my thumbs an hour before dude was ready but I guess thats how it goes with drop ins. I was greeted by a emo looking hobbit (sorry little guy) who told me I would be being tattd by Albert. I knew I was drunk cause I didn't care to reschedule even after reading Albert came two hours late for another dudes tatt and was too blown to even do it. I should have known better when I walked into the open shop and these guys were all laughing hysterically reciting lines from couples retreat playing on the big screen. A bunch of tattd up roughnecks watching couples retreat!? And I bet those fools have never even seen swingers, tssk tssk. So I bring in a picture of what I want, Albert looks at it and says oh this is computer text it would be much cooler if I drew something freehand. He gave me his catalog I found this really cool font he had done, I told him I want it similar to that. He said ok drew me something completely different and I wish I had been more forward about what I wanted because what he drew me sucked but i was drunk and I just wanted to lay on the table and take a nap. So it takes an hour or so for a really small piece. It comes out ok, at best, like a jailhouse tatt I'd be excited over if It was my first and I was 14 in juvi. All and all I didn't like the layout of the shop, dudes are just standing at the counter shouting over the gun and the tv arranging appointments and talking prices while people are in the middle of getting tatts. If your gonna go I wouldn't funk with Albert, hes a nice dude and all but I think I was overcharged for mediocre work, regardless of if I was drunk or not.  Recap, what have we learned?... You should never get tatts on the whim or  if your drunk, unless your a pussy like me. And most importantly you should never trust a man to put a needle to you when you've witnessed him watching and thoroughly enjoy couples retreat. It's just not right!

After months of debating with myself, I finally decided to get my first ink.  I came across Salvation Tattoo on Yelp and read quite a lot of excellent reviews, so I thought I'd give them a call.  I got a hold of Mosa and spoke briefly with him about what I wanted. I also emailed him a couple of pictures to give him an idea.  Mosa was one of the friendliest, most professional and extremely talented person I have met.  He was so prompt at answering my questions. Within two days, he was able to come up with several personalized sketches of the tribal turtle tattoos that I wanted.   The hardest part was narrowing them down to the best 3 (I wanted 3 tribal turtles on my left side lower rib).  There were two turtle sketches that I wanted to incorporate in one turtle and with a few modifications, Mosa did exaclty just that.

I was so happy with the final sketches that I commited to putting a downpayment and made an appointment. Mosa had only recently started tattooing.  I was confident with having him do my tattoos but knowing that this is my first time, he unselfishly suggested that An do it. I have seen An's previous work and I had no doubt that he'll do a great job with my tattoos.Fortunately, An was able to squeeze me in his busy schedule.  I had to wait an hour before getting started, but I am happy with the results. The procedure wasn't as painful as I anticipated considering the area where I had my tattoos is one of the most sensitve.

Overall, it was a great experience!  The studio was nice and clean. The location is great and had awesome mountain views.  Super friendly and talented staff.  I'm already jotting ideas for my next tattoo!

Salvation Tattoo is the kind of place where you walk in and everyone stops and looks at you and smiles. What better vibe can you ask for ? You get greeted by this big guy who has the biggest smile in the world and the voice of a giant and the greet is as if you were family, full of laughter and cheer in his voice. You get a great feeling about the place.

We called ahead of time to set up an appointment with An so that we could speak with him about our design and to make our $60 deposit. The person who answered the phone was the guy who greeted me with that big ass smile when we first came in after the phone call. He told us that An was busy doing a tattoo but we can feel free to come in and he'd be more than happy to answer any questions we had. We came in and An did exactly just that while working on his customer.

An answered all of our questions right then and there and we made an appointment to get my tattoo. We showed An a photo as an example of what we wanted as a tattoo and he said that he could do it no problem. His confidence and assurance made us feel really good and calm about choosing Salvation.

We wanted to add something else to the tattoo and we told him last minute when we came for our appointment and he added it into his rough draft and we absolutely loved what he came up with. It got exactly what I had wanted a more within his first try. My friends and I were more than impressed by his skill as an artist. We all agreed that his rough draft was the piece that I was going to get. I brought some friends to get more than 1 opinion but we all agreed to it right then and there unanimously. Well done An. Well done.

The process was a lot less painful than I had expected which was a major plus. I actually missed the needle going through my skin when he took those small gaps to refill his ink. He made it as painless as possible and did a fantastic job doing so.

According to their website, An charges $140/hour and after our tattoo was finished in less than an hour, he knocked off $50 off of his charge because he is so god damn awesome. So our total for the tattoo came to a total of $90 and he received a nice hefty tip of course.

Very satisfied with the tattoo and the customer service. Superb.

5 Stars for Salvation Tattoos. My friends who accompanied me will be calling you guys soon.

Great place to get your ink. I've been here for about 4 different tattoos, one cover-up. An has done an amazing job, he has also done my gf's smaller tattoos and we refer him to all my friends. Place is laid-back , jokes here and there, just relax and have a great piece of art needled onto your body. An is great in catering to your ideas, he will tell you what is good and what won't work, Shana does very good scripture for my gf at Guru in the past so I am sure shes another great artist you can trust.

    this review is long overdue.
Dude, I'd give this place 5 stars and more. An is AMAZING! I came in with my idea and some references. I got a beautiful tatt on my forearm of the goddess Dhanwantari emerging out of the sea of milk holding a gourd containing the elixir of immortality. He worked with me to modify his initial drawing and it turned out way better than I ever even imagined. Considering, I have an small forearm, there is SO MUCH detail and the color is so vibrant. You can even see her individual eyelashes and strands of hair. The guys in the shop are great and really friendly.  They made the time go by and the pain minimal. I did almost pass out a few times...haha. but they were nice about it and gave me some soda to drink.

gotta go back soon to get it retouched.

    true artists!

I have gone to Salvation for 4 of my tattoos and had Albert as my artist each time. From my experience he's very professional and cut me some good deals being that I was a returning customer. For each tattoo, we sat for hours discussing exactly how I wanted everything to look and made me feel very comfortable. He was easy to talk to and was fun to joke around with. I haven't been by the shop in about 2 years, but I'm sure I'll go back when I'm ready for my next one!

I have been to Salvation twice- once for myself and the second time with my boyfriend. I had an"Om" symbol tattooed by An. He was very nice and the price was reasonable for the size. He even stayed at the shop later to do my tattoo. So when my boyfriend was looking to get a Slipknot "S", I recommended Salvation.

My boyfriend scheduled an appointment with Albert. However, on the day of his appointment, Albert arrived almost 2 hrs late! And on top of that, he was too blown to even put the stencil on straight. After many failed attempts, Albert had to ask another, more sober artist, to help him put it on correctly. (At this point I was surprised that my boyfriend even let him continue the tattoo- I would've walked out hrs ago) He completed the tattoo and, to my surprise, managed to stay within the lines.

Other than that, both of our tattoos look more faded than our older ones and have become a bit raised. If you close your eyes and run your fingers over the tattoo, you can feel where the skin ends and the tattoo begins. Neither of us have plans on returning EVER! Especially to see Albert.

Only good things to say about Salvation Tattoo, Albert has done my work since I started coming in there based off a friends recommendation. He has now completed  a 3/4 sleeve on my right arm and now have plans for my left arm. First off I want to say that Albert is one of the most down to earth, easy to talk to and highly professional guys I have met in a long time in any line of work. He is thoughtful in his approach to his art he creates for you and in his interpretation of what you are looking for and how the final piece will look on your body.

He is open and honest and you can tell that he loves his craft, as it shows in his work. I have always felt welcome in the shop and the time he puts into your work from the prep all the way to the final product shows. I have had many compliments on his work since I started going to him from many different types of people.

Albert has a quality that is lacking in many people and business now of days,
and that is that he puts 110 percent into his work and  wants his customers to be completely satisfied and excited about the work they are getting done. I highly recommend Albert if you are thinking about getting some art done, come in check it out you will be happy you did!

Salvation Tattoo is hands down the best place to get your work done. An (the owner) is truly an artist and is passionate about art --- not just in tattooing but also drawing, sketching, painting and photography. He has done work internationally in Europe and in Vietnam. The attention to detail and the level of professionalism is unprecedented. I would recommend this place over all of the other places that I've gotten work done and I've even been here to fix work that has been done at other tattoo parlors. He has several apprentices working for him in order to bathe in his experience and teachings. I have had a total of 18 hours with An and he is the most professional and honest tattoo artist you will meet in the tattooing community. An has been a tattoo artist for more than two decades and is simply a seasoned veteran. There really is nothing he has not seen.

Appointments are necessary, especially with An because he is in such high demand. Do call ahead and ask specifically for him because sometimes he is traveling abroad to do work.

If you are thinking about getting a tattoo for the first time, you must visit Salvation first and if you don't believe me, go check out other places and you'll see the that the level of professionalism, attention to detail and quality far surpasses those of other tattoo parlors.

Shana is the absolute best! I've been lucky enough to have 3 of my tattoos done by her and I refuse to go to anyone else. Shana used to work out of another shop and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to see her at Salvation. The shop itself is clean and cozy and very welcoming. The location was hard for me to find at first since I've never been down Santa Teresa that far but don't let that deter you!

I'm planning my next big piece and I know Shana will be ready to add her excellent imagination and creativity to my ideas!

I've been getting my work done by An for the last 5 years. He is a very dedicated to his work and it shows through his art. I plan to continue the rest of my body with An for other work soon.

Salvation is a very clean shop. It has never been dirty because they have a great staff that always breaks down right away and clean constantly. I've been to other shops and just by looking at their shops make me feel itchy and infected. lol

Salvation Crew are straight forward. So if you want to hear bullshit then make sure you DONT come here, because  they will tell you how it is.

I have had 4 sessions so far from An and he is absolutely a pro.  Not only did he do a great cover up on a past tattoo, the new one looks great. I m always getting asked where my ink was done at. The best part about working with An is fair rates and he's quite the conversationalist. Nothing is worse than getting inked and all you're thinking of is the pain. Having a chat makes time fly by much quicker.

Others reasons I continue to come here...

This place is really clean and he actually has a person on his staff that all he does is clean and sanitize.

Its in a nice area, not some dingy hole and the wall that smells of diseases.

The other people he works with like Vu and Albert are very friendly and professional.

If you're even thinking of getting tattoo, I'd drop by here and see what you think.

So I was referred to Vu by a friend that got a piece done by him. My friend posted a picture on FB and it just caught my eye how his lining and technique of making the art look so realistic! So I Had to get his info to set up my appt.

So I contacted Vu through FB and got a consultation! I was super excited, I've been wanting a new tat for awhile but haven't found the right artist. I arrived and saw that I was the only one there and that he does his work by appointment only. The shop was clean and well spaced out. So my main goal was to let him see some of my old work to see how I can change or add to it to make it better. But since that went by quickly, I wanted to get a quick quote on my rib cage and he agreed to do it right away. I was very appreciative of it because as we were chatting in the beginning, he told me he was taking his family to LA in the next few hours.

When I say that Vu is clean and meticulous, I really mean it, haha...its the best feeling when you know that ur artist is super clean! He did my piece in like 20 mins and it was flawless. The font that I chose had very fine curves and points at the end of each letters and he execute it perfectly. I can't wait for my next piece! I have already told so many people about him and just knowing how passionate and motivated he is to better himself and his business just speaks loudly about how much he cares about his work. So I DEF and highly recommend Vu for your next piece!

Here's the story in a nutshell.  After 11 years of whining I finally consented to let my husband get a tattoo.  No, I'm not controlling...I just am really not into tattoos.  I think he won me over by saying he wanted to get our new son's initial tattoo'd on his back.  Whatever the case...it was our anniversary...we had just moved back to Cali from NYC and I was up for a little late-night fun without baby!  I told him if he could sell enough stuff at Rasputin's to pay for his tattoo I'd go and witness his lunacy!

One problem!!!  Apparently it's impossible in this town to get a tattoo after 9pm!  As someone who got her navel pierced at 2am in the West Village on a whim, I was determined not to let boring old San Jose lead me to welching on my deal with my husband.  I started calling every tattoo parlor in the area who had good reviews on yelp!

The poor soul who answered the phone at Salvation was just trying to be nice...he said the shop was closed and that he was just there finishing up his buddy.  He couldn't think of any other places open that late and he took pity on my husband (who obviously had a permission window of this one night only to get his tattoo) and told us he'd stay and take care of us.

I still cannot remember his name (when I can I will update this review) but he was awesome.  He helped us find some letters online and we didn't feel rushed even though we were determined not to waste his time.  He did great work and we tipped well.  I don't think we'll be back (at least until I'm in a daze after having baby #2) but I'll recommend this place to anyone who will listen.

    This review is BEYOND overdue.

*AN* did my first tattoo in '06 at Guru, and I've been going to him ever since.  Drew has done a couple that are 5star too but An is my go to man, I couldn't even count how many people I have sent to him.

He truly listens to exactly what you want while adding his art and talent, (has put up with my indecisiveness like no other), and has the most beautiful script I have ever seen, I get amazing compliments on it. The colors, details, everything is flawless, and have remained that way for years, which really says a lot. Plus, he will make everything truly unique, and let you know when he doesn't think something will look good, which I really respect.

The shop is extremely clean and the guys are always really friendly.

I will never go anywhere else.

AN is very professional and will tell you what will and won't work.  And with my latest tattoo, he was particularly patient as it was a saying in a small sized font on my inner arm.

For those looking for first inking... Go to Salvation Tattoo... AN and the rest of his crew are super professional, experienced, and friendly.  Just Don't show up drunk from the bar next door asking for a four leaf clover behind your ear like some guy did... Big mistake on that drunk! :)

An is very knowledgeable and a great artist, he helped me figure out my tattoo and I even did research on it before I went there to make sure the writing was right. When I got the writing, he drew out a few drafts and I picked the one that I liked best. I liked how he just could envision what I wanted without me having to explain it as much. He also freehanded my husband's tattoo which took 2 sessions, but it came out awesome! I also love mine so much, hopefully we will be back to get some more work done! Also the price was reasonable =) Thanks An!

My girlfriend just got a some work done by Albert.  This guy is great.  He asked all the questions about the art that most tattooers don't.  He wanted to create something that she liked AND wanted.  He took time to create a piece just for her.  Way to go, Albert!

But the whole time we were there I was checking out Vu's portfolio and framed wall art.  Damn!  His monkey gods and warriors are very badass.  I haven't seen art like that in a long time.  Hmm, maybe he could do my back piece.

Of course I have to write about this place for my 300th review (about time, right?).

I heard about this place through a friend and actually had the pleasure of watching An work. He did a cover up piece for a friend of a friend (you can see me with a stupid face in the background of the picture of it on their site). From what I saw, the line work was excellent and he worked efficiently. I just knew I had to have him do my back piece.

I booked an appointment with him for me and my boyfriend by email. At first, I wasn't sure that he would be able to fit both of our tattoos in, but as I said, he works quickly and does an amazing job.

The guys who work there are wonderful artists. They are fun, like to joke around, and are honest and straight up when giving you their opinion about what you want done. If it's too small, they well tell you. If they can draw something up better than something you Google'd, they'll offer that option for you. These guys are proud of their work and wouldn't want to put their name with something that wouldn't age well or is poorly done.

The place is clean and has a laid-back vibe.

The line work An did on my boyfriend's tattoo was gorgeous. Despite being very simple, it looked so good that my boyfriend didn't even feel the need to go beyond that, which was what was initially planned.

I'm glad I made my boyfriend go first, because by the end of mine, I was a bit out of it. Four hours under the needle. The first and last half hour were the worst (before the endorphins kicked in and after they ran out), the last being almost unbearable. Seriously the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. But it was so rewarding once the piece was done. After enduring that, I know why tattoos can seem addicting. Your brain blocks out the memory of the pain and in the moment, the pain is so fleeting as it's only there when the needles are on you. Brace yourself when you hear the buzz.

Note for those getting black and grey tattoos, it will look a lot darker right off than when it's healed, so don't freak out when it doesn't look exactly how you envisioned it right off.

An did gorgeous work. I have got nothing but compliments on it, from his fellow artists, my boyfriend, and my friends. Never did he make me feel weak when I asked for a break. I'm happy that he put his own personal touches to the piece to make it flow better. I am happy with his work.

I just finished a 6+ hour session with Drew tonight. He did a chrysanthemum and some poppies on my thigh. i love it! Really, it's freaking gorgeous. If you saw it in real life, you'd be soooooo jealous. Drew did a great job, plus he's pretty personable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

And either he has the hands of an angel or I'm Bruce Willis in Unbreakable because my tattoo didn't hurt at all. Well, actually, he said he got some new motor and it's a lot softer. Whatever, it made those 6 hours a lot more bearable.

This tattoo shop is awesome!  I've been to many tattoo shops but I followed An here from Guru Tattoo because I wanted an asian-style tattoo that would look really authentic.  He gave me a koi fish on my right foot, and I love it! He managed to get the whole thing done in a few hours of pain hah hah.  He did a great job! The shop is clean, and most of all, the people that work there are cool.  There aren't a bunch of low-lifes hanging around so that makes it comfortable.  And I've had artists in the past that take time away from my tattoo to answer phone calls, take smoke breaks, or converse with people that walk in... and that's OK... but I want my time to be about me and An gave me that. Thanks An!

I had a traditional japanese sleeve done by Khoung, which is his specialty, when his shop was Braveheart Tattoo.  The shop is now Salvation Tattoo, which is at the exact same location.  Don't have enough good things to say about Khoung as an artist and professional.  He is fast and his rate is below market for the type and quality of work he performs.  I researched my sleeve for a good year before committing and was deciding between Paco or Horitomo (@ State of Grace), but one day found Khoung's website and checked out his portfolio online.  His work speaks for itself.

Khoung has a busy calendar, from what I remember, but he was always willing to adjust his schedule to fit me in on weekends and evenings.  He primarily does large pieces so if you want a small tattoo done, then there are other talented artists at the shop that handle those.

I've been here twice, once with my brother to get his work done and the last time to have my side piece worked on. Great tattoo shop vibe - good size, open, music and a great banter between the tattoo artists. You can tell these folks LOVE to work here and it's no surprise why. Also very clean and cash-only. Call ahead for appointments or right before and they can usually accommodate.

Drew did my tattoo and has tattooed me before, amazing artist and very personable. Anh and the rest of the guys are all enthusiastic and talented artists. Highly recommended!!

I really love this place! When I walked in for a consulation, they had The Hangover" playing and it was a very chill atmosphere.I just got my first tattoo done here which is a cherry blossom piece with a butterfly on my lower leg. My artist was Sonny. He did a very nice job putting on paper what I had imagined in my head. I was looking for very natural, very japanese- style cherry blossoms and i love them! He was very specific when he asked me about what i did and did not want. The people in the shop were all very nice and chill. Price wise, it was not too bad, average for any tattoo parlor your going to find in San Jose. My piece is about 5 inches and took about and hour to an hour and a half and paid about $140. I highly recommend this place !

I got my first tattoo at here by Albert. It was late December, and my friend and I suddenly wanted to give Christmas gifts for ourselves LOL so we just searched for a tattoo studio and randomly called Salvation Tattoo to see if we could get tattoo on that day. We arrived around 6pm and didn't wait too long, and Albert and other guys were sooooooo sweet and funny. He made us feel comfortable and gave some great tips on aftercare. I am probably going to return here this December again for a touch-up and a second tattoo! Can't wait to meet nice staffs again :)

I send all my friends and family to An...Tattoos are always better than they have expected! An is very passionate and very into his customers. Its hard not to be friends with him, especially when you just speak to him. His art is very detailed demands attention from other people. I wasn't planning to get a tattoo when i went with my friends, but now, after referring lot of my friends to him, i'm inspired to get one as well! I'm booked couple of sessions for my back in Oct.

Janice did my tattoo and was wonderful to work with. I walked in, expecting to make an appointment or getting some resistance. Another tattoo artist in Santa Cruz turned me off of getting what I wanted and was a little rude, so to find her so willing to make it work was great. The shop is very clean and easy to find, and the prices are very fair. I will definitely use Janice for other work I want to get done.

    Love It.

They've done all my work. My traditional piece & my daughters name.
Every single time I've walked out feeling like a million bucks.

An is the man! But even then everyone else has good feedback. Give this place a shot.

They're awesome.  They're super nice to customers, and I was lucky that Khuong had time to do my tattoo today.  The rabbit tattoo looks great, and even though it was painful getting it on my inner wrist he made me very comfortable.  I was kind of indecisive about what I wanted (placement, size, and coloring), but he was patient and helped me decide.  I recommend the shop to everybody.

BTW, there is some confusion on the studio name (Salvation/BraveHeart).  It's now called Salvation, it used to be called BraveHeart.

I got my tattoo done by An recently. I came in for a consultation and gave him a bunch of random ideas I was interested in. An is very knowledgeable with Vietnamese history and culture. He helped create something I was passionate about into an art piece.

Here are some photos of my tattoo getting done. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flickr.com%2Fphotos%2F32781542%40N05%2Fsets%2F72157616544868881%2F&s=0a2cf9f882290e960164061934dc50d0d29e59028c1810e050e4eeb576df0c45" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.flickr.com/ph…</a>

Khuong was the artist and he was such a pleasure to work with. My best friend and I decided to get each other a tattoo for our birthdays. We came by a few weeks prior to drop off a sample of what we each wanted. This wasn't our first time getting inked but he made sure we were as comfortable with the process as possible. He answered every question that popped in our heads and had a great sense of humor. Khuong was very gentle and although I can't blame him for the pain, at least he did his best to minimize it. The both of us were satisfied with his work and would definitely come back for any future inking.

I was referred to An from my girlfriend and her husband who have both gotten their work done by him. He is awesome. He does beautiful work. He busts out some great peices in a short amount of time. He has done my hubbys chest and arms and just recently did a 1/4 sleeve for me which people come up to me all the time asking where i got it done at. He is definitely worth the money and he can do great cover up work too. BY far one of the best in the bay area.
