I first got a tattoo here about 10 years ago on my foot. I wish I could remember who did it because it turned out amazing, it was small and the details on it were pretty spectacular, I always get comments on it.
My recent experience here was great as well. I had this star tattoo on my wrist that I had gotten 6 years ago for who knows what reason and I have always hated it. I've been wanting to cover it up for some time now but never really knew if it were possible. I went in last night knowing what I wanted and Ray impressed me. He did a fabulous job and the experience as a whole was just fantastic!
I would suggest this place to anyone wanting a professional tattoo at a reasonable price. Ray was very patient with me and the tattoo turned out better than I had anticipated. This was a cover up, I didn't expect greatness!
I got my first tattoo here when I was 18, and 20 years later I'm still getting tattoos here! Â Kevin is the man! Â Every piece he has done for me always turns out better than I hoped for! Â I get asked all the time where I get my work done, and love telling people: "Kevin at Sharky's!"
Everyone in the shop is super cool, laid back, and knows their stuff. Â I've never seen anyone leave unhappy with the work they got. If you're looking for a place to go where everyone is treated respectfully, whether it's your first tattoo, or your 20th, Sharky's is the place to go!
Got my first tattoo here.....def over rated and over priced....they wanted 150.00 for a 3 inch tat.... Guys I wasn't born yesterday plus the ol' Â guy needed to retire..... He seemed so wiped out .......I def want another tat but will spend my money else where......especially where there's more ideas and youth!!!!!!!
Review Source:I went today to take my daughter for her first tattoo. Â Her me and my bff wanted matching dove tattoos behind our ear. Â We walked in and Frank was there by himself. Â I was hoping that he was good since the choice was only him...
He was really friendly and not stuck up or rude like most tattoo shops! Â He was easy to work with and tolerated my many pictures talking me toward a great choice :) he gave us permission to tell him if we wanted anything changed before he started. Â The price was reasonable and he was pretty gentle on us. Â We will go there again since now the tattoo seal is broken for my 19 year old...
Got my first tattoo at this place and got it done by Ray and he is THE sh*t. It came out perfect!! Definitely better than I expected.
I loved him so much, I came back the following Saturday and he had an appointment, but he was so nice he fit me in and didn't even rush, took his time and worked on my next piece. I love this place and if I were to get a third tattoo, this is my shop and Ray is my man :]
Got a tattoo here about 6 weeks ago. Â Tattoo is raised and very crusty. Â Is this normal. Â It's not sore, just doesn't look good. Â What can I do at this point. Â I didn't get any instructions when I had it done except to use A&D ointment sparingly which I did. Â I don't really want to give a review until I see the final results - but isn't 6 weeks a long time to wait for the results. Â Seems to me it should be nice and smooth by now. Â Can anyone help?
Review Source:Met Steve a month or so ago when I was eating at the Gyro place next to the shop....spoke with him about fixing a bad foot tattoo and was really impressed by his portfolio. Saved up my hard earned dinero for my 7th tattoo, and got a motorcycle helmet with wings on my shoulder next to another tattoo I had. Popped in last night and luckily he was working, so he sat me down and we got down to business. Three hours later I had this beautiful tattoo. My boyfriend came along because he'd never seen anyone get ink before, and we had a good time chatting with Kevin and the other guy working. I am extremely pleased with the results and will definitely be dropping back by to get my foot fixed in the future. Price suited me just fine (not really sure how to compare though...my other tats were free or a hookup)...I am aware you get what you pay for! Anyway, definitely recommend the shop...ask for Kevin!
P.S. The shop is CASH ONLY-NO CARDS!!
I think Sharky's tattoo is one of the best places to go. They do not take credit cards anymore by the way, but it makes the prices way cheaper and the quality is good. I went to Frank Casas and I still have to send him a photo of the portrait he did for me. If you are looking to do a color portrait, Frank is the man because he said he loves challenges and loves to do color portraits. He says black and white are okay. Anyways he did it for $400 dollars which at the place in santa Cruz cost me around $750, but then again the tattoo was way bigger too. Â But anyways his work took 3 and a half hours to do and it goes by really quickly and he hooks me up by putting in extras as well. He puts his heart and soul into it. Â Frank is cool and if I want another lady on my leg, I will go to him.
Review Source:Almost, almost filled the tattoo piggy bank with enough for the next big piece, but I just couldn't wait another day after my whip-smart wife suggested that the epiphanic moment when I would realize what my "daughter" tattoo would be had already passed and was hanging on our fridge.
About two months ago my three year old drew a picture of our cat. Now, aside from Wiener-Guy (don't ask), this was really one of the first pictures that actually looked like what she said it did. Kitty ears, evil smile, tuft of fur on the head. So on a Sunday, Wife says "There's your daughter tattoo." I liked the sound of that, said I'd think about it for a week or two, then called Sharky's the next day and was done 40 minutes after work on Monday. Very pleased again with my third one here, this one by Ray. Cool guys. No one made fun of me (openly). And it looks just like her drawing. I ain't figured out how to link to a picture, but it's with the other one above. I guess I could post one without the blood and saran wrap, but fuck it. It's late. We'll see how many years it takes for her to be embarrassed by it, but for now... "That's Butch! That's my guy! I made that guy on your shoulder!" Every. Freaking. Day.
I had my bellybutton pierced here when I was 18. That was 8 yrs ago, so I can't tell you how great the place is now. But I can say that I've had many a friend get a tattoo here and they've always been beautiful. My bellybutton is still A-Ok as well:) lol
The shop was always clean when I used to go and the artists were great fun. Â If I'm in the market for a tattoo or piercing, I'll definitely see if sharky's is still awesome before I go anywhere else:)
came here on a whim with my friend to get inked. Â i wanted a dove, and one of the guys kind of mocked me with, "like some christian $hit?"
the girl that did my little birdie was very professional and very nice to me. Â it was only my second tattoo, and the first one didn't really hurt at all. Â i was really nervous but she was the same age as me and kind of made me laugh and calm my nerves. Â it was pretty cheap too and very clean. Â i would come back again.
Got my first tattoo here (1996) when I visiting my friend. Â I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for awhile now and I mentioned this to my friend. Â So we were talking and at 2:00 in the morning, decided to get a tattoo. Â She's had her tattoos done here, so she knew the people pretty well. Â
They were very friendly even at 2:00 in the morning. Â We chatted for awhile and I didn't really notice the pain because I was having a good time, sitting on the chair. Â It was a great first experience!
