I've gotten my lip and nose pierced by Ana and she is great, so sweet and they both came out perfect. She also did my friends nipples and they look awesome. Â Cool little shop too. I'll probably be back to get tattooed soon! Oh and bring cash cuz they don't take cards, if not they have an ATM there.
Review Source:As a few have reviewed, this is my first ink so I cannot rate against other artists/shops. This is why 4 stars and not 5, just sayin'. I can tell you that I always read other's reviews to make an educated decision.
I have been thinking about getting my first tat for a VERY long time because I wanted to make sure "MY" design was what I wanted permanently on my bod. I came up with my design finally and called to discuss what I was going to get done. I will not speak to any of the other reviews here because I do not want to skew anyone's opinions on those opinions, just my experience. I found everyone that I spoke to as friendly and helpful. Especially Kenny, my tat guy.
I was not sure what all to expect except to bring a print out of the fonts - designs I wanted. Sorry, I am a tech guy, I took docs in a thumb drive so I knew what I was going to get. After some discussion with Kenny the original sizing I was set on was actually to small and I am SO glad I listened to his advise. Looking at pictures I took with a sample taped to my arm at home and how Kenny had it stenciled, huge difference and I could not be happier. The colors are perfect, lines are excellent and even on the skull I had, he did some grey wash that made it look so much better. The detail is killer. Again, I could not be happier and if I add to it or get another I will go back to Kenny!
Oh, and the aftercare talk and info that was sent home with me covers it all (in case you are thinking about your first tat).
Cash only so if you don't have an idea of the cost, ask, ask, ask.
Best tattoo shop EVER, my experiences there have always been fun, relaxing, interesting, and just all around enjoyable, the owner, Tom Cross, is so creative and personable, he makes you feel right at home. The artists are top notch, best in the business, Vinny, and Kenny put their personal touch in ever piece yet still create the masterpiece you were dreaming of, Meredith is one of a kind while also offering facial skin treatments, the apprentice shows amazing talent and promise, you really can't go wrong, it's great to just hang out and have a cup of coffee at the attached coffee shop, or sit down and get creative with your artist, with their charming personalities and talent, you would be stupid to go anywhere else!
Review Source:This is your average tattoo parlor. However, they only accept cash and do not offer consultation appointments. If you want to discuss ideas with a certain artist, you have to stop by and hope they have time to talk with you. It took us three tries to track down the artist we wanted. Also, their website says they are open on Sundays, but they aren't.
My husband and I both got tattoos here recently. We provided pictures of the exact tattoos we wanted. We were both happy when we left, even though my husband's still needed to be finished and then touched up. However, the next morning when we took a good look at our tattoos, we were 100% disappointed. Mine looked nothing like the picture I provided - the lines weren't straight, the shading was bad, and a few lines didn't connect. Also, the entire thing is crooked. My husband's, a $300+ - three hour piece, was absolutely horrible. It looks as if the artist finished the outline and just stopped trying. Several of the lines are crooked or "squiggly," there are several "tails" where the end of the lines overlap instead of connecting, the shading is very inconsistent, and there are several places that were tattooed/shaded and shouldn't have been - destroying some of the finer details of the design. We waited a week for them to heal and see if things improved, but they haven't. My husband cancelled his follow-up appointment and we've decided we won't even go back for touch-ups.
The artist books/examples at the parlor were impressive, so I'm not sure if we just caught them on an off-day or what. Bottom line, the prices are pretty good and the people are nice, but the actual tattoo work was awful and we'll never go back.
So for my wifes upcoming birthday she tells me she wants a tattoo. Sweet, those are easy to arrange being that she is the only one that knows what design she actually wants.
So I did what I thought was best and contacted my Brother whom is very tattooed and got a recommendation to Kevin from the Smokey Banana. I then quickly contacted Kevin and he invited me and my wife down to the shop to discuss the design.
That same day we stopped in and met with Kevin (whom I might add is one of the nicest tattoo artists I've ever met) and she described the tattoo that she wanted. Kevin agreed to sketch it up and email it to us. The next day we got the design and headed in for our appointment.
With a few minor changes at my wifes request and we were ready to roll. About an hour later and she was a proud new owner of Kevin's permanent art. She admitted several times that it came out much better than she had imagined and that the pain was minimal compared to previous tattoos. Thanks Kevin for making me the hero this birthday!
All in all a great experience from a great shop. Kevin is awesome and the other artists seemed really down to earth and experienced as well. I will return soon for my next piece.
I will admit I failed to try the coffee, next time.
