I actually got my first tattoo here about 5 years ago, so when I wanted to get my nose re-pierced, I decided to go here. I interacted solely with Charlie and he talked to me in detail before he even put on gloves. I had my nose pierced a few years ago, so he first checked to see if the hole was still there instead of just sticking a needle in my nose. Surprise, surprise, there was still a hole and he didn't have to re-pierce it. Charlie went this route even though it wasn't as expensive as actually piercing it. His level of professionalism was really impressive.
Review Source:Being liberal yet appearing conservative, we are not the typical "piercees" however, I had my nipple pierced for my wife some years back. Â The deal was she would get a VCH (Vertical Clitoral Hood) piercing. Â She finally got the nerve up and we went to Subculturez Tattoo. Â Charlie was the piercer on staff. Â I have to say it was by far one of the most professional experiences I have ever been involved with. Â He was very knowledgeable and was more than willing to answer all of our many questions. Charlie's main concern was to develop trust and rep-or with us, his clients. Â He was very polite, courteous, and understanding. Â We were in the room for about an hour when the procedure only took a minute. Â He was ensuring that we were comfortable with the overall experience. Â He had an apprentice and asked permission for his apprentice to observe the procedure. Â Both Charlie and his Apprentice (forgive me forgetting his name) were consummate professionals leaving us with a very comfortable feeling having my wife exposed to strangers. Â Once the procedure was finished, he allowed her to get her bearings as she was consumed with the emotions of having a procedure such as this performed (we are not typical piercing people not that there is anything remotely wrong with piercings, one would not suspect either of us probably having piercings). Â The overall experience from beginning to end was more than exceptional. Â Charlie even walked us out to the car, repetitively stating if we had any other questions or concerns to not hesitate, just call him. Â Having been in the Marine Corps I have been in a few Tattoo parlors. Â While waiting for our procedure, we were observing the tattoo portfolio and one of the artists asked if we had been helped and was very polite and professional ensuring our comfort in the shop. Â The shop was extremely clean and inviting. Â I just cannot say enough about the great experience we had with these guys. Â If you are apprehensive about getting a procedure done or a tattoo, I am more than confident that these professionals will put your concerns at ease and have you leaving with a smile. Â Thanks Subculturez for making us feel welcome and Thanks to Charlie and his Apprentice (again apologies for the name) for an outstanding experience above and beyond the normal customer service. Â Hell, banks should take a lesson from these guys as it seems they have a better grasp on what a customer is and how they should be treated. Â 10 STARS through and through.....Thanks guys, loving it!
Review Source:I went in a long time ago to get my first piercing, and I had great experience. I decided to go in for a tattoo, since I'd heard good things. I walked in, only to be ignored by the employees inside. There were more employees outside standing around smoking who also didn't acknowledge me as I was entering the shop. I looked around at some things for about 10 minutes. No one ever came up to me or even acknowledged that I was there. I decided to just leave because clearly my business wasn't of anyone's interest there. As I got into my car someone said "Oh hey, can I help you?"...I just said "Not now, thank you." I was really disappointed, and I'll never go in for anything.
Review Source:This is the place where I have had the last 5 of my tattoos done and I cannot say enough good things about this shop.
The artists are professionals and excel at what they do. Â They each have portfolios available to view so you can decide on who to select, or you can walk in with a design and an available artist can consult with you. Â I have worked with Babin and Dan in the past and both were very nice guys and professionally serious about the quality of work they perform.
Piercing is also offered here and is quality. Â I have had my nostril pierced here and it did not hurt and aftercare instructions were good. Â I will take my daughters here for ear piercings when they are older too.
The interior of the building underwent a major design renovation about 3 years ago and it is gorgeous inside. Â Artwork by local artists are featured and many of the stations where the tattooists work feature fine art that they have done themselves.
Price for all work is reasonable and was approximately $75/hour of work for my designs which are "new school" or more cartoon-y in nature. Â It could perhaps be more if you have an intricate design, but I have yet to pay over $250 for any of my work. Â This may have changed, but gives you an idea.
