Is there some rule against acting professional when your job in life is to put permanent artwork on people's bodies?

My wife made an appointment five weeks before to make sure we got the artist (Fonzie) that was recommended to us by a friend. The tattoo I was getting was a super simple banner with text in it. I figured he could knock it out of the park. I'll never know, because when we got there, this sawed-off shop monkey intercepted me, really rudely inquired about what design I wanted. I asked him if he was "Fonzie," and he just says "no, he's busy tattooing someone," like we didn't just explain that we had made an appointment with that specific artist weeks ago. When I asked a question about a shading difference in the two examples I brought, he just says "So, which one do you want?" I was done dealing with this guy, so we just waited for Fonzie. Meanwhile, the short, rude guy casually starts explaining the design to one of the other artists in the shop so he can do the tattoo, not even attempting to address us and ask if we'd prefer to not wait for Fonzie (even though we had an APPOINTMENT).

At this point, my wife just asked straight up "Is Fonzie not available today or what?" Then the short dude lost his attitude all of a sudden and started backpedaling "Oh, no, you guys want Fonzie? He should be done soon, you guys wanna come back in like 45 min?"

Needless to say, we didn't come back. In addition to how we were treated, the dudes in the shop were swearing and carrying on a sexual conversation about this 18 year old chick that had just left the shop, all right in front of my wife. We're not freaking Mormans, but come on fellas. I thought I was back in the barracks. It all feeds into the whole lack of professionalism thing.

Key points: Keep appointments and be pleasant to customers. Should be simple.
