For as much as I love the quality of the work down at this place I hate when people don't live up to good customer service. 6 months ago I scheduled two separate tattoo appointments with Aaron. When the time had come for the first appointment The shop manager called and cancelled my appointment. I didn't think that was so bad since I had another appt in two weeks. I had been looking forward to this tattoo for six months. Finally when I was ready to go for the second appointment Aaron also cancelled on this appointment. I waited six months for two cancelled appointments. I then had to go back to get my deposit. Tattoo Revolution is extremely flaky, they do not know how to run a business with good customer service. Time to find a new shop. Don't schedule an appointment here unless you want to be let down.

Love this place and I will not go anywhere else from now on! Vince tattooed my foot and did a cover up on my shoulder and they came out even better than I imagined! Awesome, kick ass guys work here, laid back atmosphere and killer work! Don't waist time going anywhere else if you're looking for a ink shop! Cash only and typically require a $60 deposit at time of appointment booking.

My right earlobe has been closed up for a few months now-- actually, who knows how long it's been closed, because I haven't worn earrings since I was in junior high. But I've started again recently, and the right earlobe was such a pain in the ass to get an earring through, and then a few months ago it just quit on me and wouldn't let anything through. And since I got my ears pierced at the mall by some young woman with a piercing gun, and you see how well that turned out, I decided to get it fixed by a piercing professional.

That came out sounding a bit more complicated than I intended. Let me get to the point.

Everyone talks about Mikey for piercings, but when I went in, it was Trino who did the deed. I told him my little story about how it was closed, and I apologized for wanting a boring piercing. But he took it seriously, even doing some back and forth about whether or not to pierce through the old one or pierce a new one higher in the lobe, to match my left (thanks a lot, lady at Claire's 15 years ago). Anyways, he did it, carefully, and I'm happy. It's still in the healing phase but everything is fine so far, and I have even been wearing one earring on the other side in anticipation. And practice. Dangly earrings are cute as hell but a bit scary for me since I have a dog who likes to punch me in the face sometimes.

Oh, and I look like a pirate with one loop in my ear, but that's nobody's fault but my own.

In conclusion, yaaaaar matey. And when you take your daughters to get their ears pierced, take them to an actual piercing shop. They'll do it better than the mall and plus, it's kinda bad-ass.

Place was clean and everyone was nice but Manual did my tattoo and I now have scarring and tattoo is bumpy where he pushed the needle too deep. Very sad!!!!
I do have other tattoos and kept this one clean and followed the same instructions from priors and what he suggested, so if you go here I'd pass on Manual!!!!'

I can only speak on behalf of Aaron Funk since he's the only artist I've had the pleasure to do business with at Tattoo Revolution. Aaron is a genuine guy straight up!

He is an AMAZING artist who treats all of his clientele with the up most respect and is a down to earth dude who makes that "Odd" tattoo shop experience pretty chill. I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for some quality artwork at an affordable price from an artists that doesn't have an ego bigger then their portfolio can handle. His work speaks for itself...

Does it get better than Mr. Funk??? Not really baby..........
I have been enamored by his work for over 5 years already. He's sleeved up plenty of my friends, ex lovers, and myself. Aaron is a sexy artist , and does the best freehand work I've ever seen on flesh or paper.
Birthday week I called last minute when I was visiting down in SoCal and Aaron managed to fit me in literally 2 hours after I called. Aaron tatted the most beautiful Quetzal ever known to flesh. Detailed with so much texture I swore the Quetzal was going to fly away. Shaded in all the right places, and the branches all placed as if I was born with them . He made the experience perfect, not rushed at all and plenty of cigarette breaks to offer.
There are plenty of well known artist around the bay and the world, plenty of great art to get done on the flesh everywhere, but there is only one Aaron. Most of the people I know that Aaron has graced their flesh insist that they will only go to him or after visiting another say they should have stayed with him. Price is excellent especially once you see the results. This is your place for great art trust and believe.

This place may look tough on the outside but I have never had better service then this place. Mikey is the only man I trust to handle my piercing. I got my piercing long before I came to Redlands but over the years of college I would loose the earring or the ball would come out. Every time this happened I would pop into Tattoo Revolution and Mikey would hook me up.

What I appreciate about this place is the service. The prices don't kill you, and the people are beyond friendly. I've been to other piercing and tattooing places with my friends when they want stuff done and nothing compares to this place.

Just to show you how much I love this place I went almost a year with no ball in my earring because I couldn't get down to this place. I finally came to pay my friend a visit in Redlands and we went together. I left with a new ball in my earring and my friend got a belly button piercing.

This place holds a special place in my heart and I will always come here for my piercing needs and when I finally get the nerve up, my tattooing needs too.

After reading the other reviews, I can't help but wonder if a) management changed in the last few years or b) there are two Tattoo Revolutions in Redlands.

I had my first tattoo done here awhile ago, but just got around to reviewing the place. Even though it's been a few years, I very clearly remember my experience here.

Let me first say that the tattoo I got did turn out very well. This review is not about the tattoo skills, but the service.

I went in there and was pretty nervous. It was my first tattoo and I was a shy girl and all that. I showed my design to the guy and he essentially scoffed at it. He sketched something similar, but I really didn't like it and said I'd stick with the picture I came in with. He told me, "well it won't look good but whatever." Umm...okay...

While he was tattooing (my back), I didn't realize I had started lightly tapping my foot because it hurt a little. Instead of just asking me to stop, he just says "if you keep doing that I'm going to mess up."

I didn't go in expecting to be greeted with hugs and cupcakes, but some courtesy would have been appreciated. My tattoo artist was pretentious and I would have gone there for my second tattoo if he wasn't so unfriendly.

Hands down best shop around. What CAN'T you say about this shop? Everyone here is super talented and the environment is down to earth, you come in and just "hangout" while your getting work done. Everyone is friendly and enjoys having a good time. I personally get my work done by Aaron Funk, he has done 2 very big pieces for me and couldn't be happier. People constantly ask to see my tattoos and are very impressed with the quality of his work and definitely makes me happy to hear so many compliments.

This place was great. The inside was clean and nice, not intimidating at all like some tattoo shops can be. The people that work there are extremely friendly which was nice because I went alone.

The piercer is Mikey and he is friendly just like the rest of them. I told him I wanted a conch piercing and he showed me jewelry and gave me paperwork to sign immediately. I would DEFINITELY go back to him for any other piercings in the future.

From the get-go everybody has been so nice and helpful! These people know customer service! I called before I arrived to ask about about my lip piercing that I had done the day before at a Tattoo and Body Art Expo out in Pomona, but today my lip kept getting bigger and bigger and the stud they put in was way too short to be a lip stud (for anyone) let alone give me room for the swelling. It was getting so bad that the tiny gem and the backing were cutting into my skin. (lesson learned, make sure you go to a REAL professional at any expo) Anyways, after consulting on the phone, Mikey informs me that he'll fix the other person's mistake and just charge me for jewelry. (WHAT A SWEETIE, RIGHT?)

Anyways, I arrive at the shop and Mikey comes up and was SUPER patient, SUPER informative and really gave me truthful answers and his own professional opinion without thinking about how much he was going to get. I wasn't hassled about anything and everything was a smooth transition. He's SUPER clean, SUPER nice and was SUPER professional. He explained to me that he'd have to "stretch" my piercing to a 16 gauge (mine was pierced with a 20) and it didn't even hurt that much and he was nice about it - telling me to breathe when he saw me feel a little pain.

His business card says, "Mikey is Rad" and let me tell you that the card tells the truth! Mikey is not just "rad" but "HELLA rad"

Want a good and SAFE piercing from someone with gentle hand skills and a professional personality, come by Tattoo Revolution and get pierced.

I got my tattoo two years ago by Aaron Funk and the color is still very fresh. I get compliments all the time from people of all walks. The fact that he drew it on freehand amazes people. I was referred by my cousin and his girlfriend who both said I would like Aaron because he is nice and has a light hand and just does OUTSTANDING work! They were right, and I intend to go back for more :)

Aaron is an amazing tattoo artist. I have had COUNTLESS people walk by me and just grab my arm and admire his work (much to my annoyance-lol). When I tell them he free-handed the entire thing they are in absolute amazement. I have for years now and will continue to refer any and everyone here, as I trust his quality of work. Plus...everyone is always pleasantly surprised with how kind and down-to earth he is (since most people would expect the opposit from a well known tattoo artist).

A few years ago I referred a group of women who wanted to get their first tattoo to commemorate them turning 40, and I remember them coming back and showing me how happy they were with their tattoos and how much they loved Aaron and the entire experience. When you find quality work in a clean environment and have everyone that comes in to see you feel 100% comfortable regardless of their age, etc...now THAT is true success in my eyes.

I did a lot of research on who and where I wanted to get tattooed by and I have heard nothing but great things about Tattoo Revolution. A couple of my friends have gotten work if not all their tattoos from here and they have all left very happy. So I wanted to give it a shot. Everyone was helpful, super chill and very professional and I did not feel uncomfortable one bit. I have two tattoos and both from Trevor Bonkers. Both times I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he went over and above my expectations. I will definitely be coming back for more work done.

Over the weekend I decided to get my very first tattoo. I wasn't sure what to get, but when it came down to get it done. I already picked out what I wanted. I got my tattoo done by Marc Jackson, now this guy rocks!!

When you first walk into the shop it's pretty laid back and feels like home. Everyone watching movies, getting ink, or either eating haha. I was ready to get this party started, so here came the man, Mr. Jackson. He sorta looked like an friend I knew, but lets get down to business, shall we?

He shown me my drawing, I was like damn that is pretty wicked, so once he called me up I knew it was serious business time. The whole crew in the store is very friendly and laugh at the funniest stuff, I couldn't help but laughing too. Not only that, but they have some of the coolest convos with everyone in the shop, so it gives you the family talk and also keeps from not paying attention to the tattoo.

He started on my shoulder, got down to business, and after 30 mins...WAH-LA!!! Came out nice and clean, I'll probably be going back to add in the stuff I wanted.

Overall, I love this place I see myself for sure going back to this place. If your thinking about getting some ink, I SUGGEST THIS PLACE and Marc Jackson.

I've been to a few other tattoo artists---the talent doesn't get better than Tattoo Revolution. The last time I went there I let them create something from scratch. Let's just say that's some art that that I would never get removed.

Too bad Gunnar moved away, but this is still a great shop. It's clean and inviting and full of some really great artists. Trevor Bonkers did an amazing dirty syringe in my arm pit. Don't just trust me, check out their website...

Back when i was a 16 year old fake ID carrying college freshman at the good old U of SC, i thought i knew everything. i was anti everything except profound debauchery and empty fornication. Anti-posters-on-the-wall, Anti-fraternity, anti-sorority, anti-monogamy, anti white-people-with-dreads (well, that hasn't changed), anti-clothes-with-labels and staunchly anti-tattoos!

I had always felt there was no symbol or object or word(s) significant enough to permanently carve into my flesh that i didn't know about myself or couldn't give someone access to WITHOUT the damn tattoo, so what's the point? But when my then best friend got her first tattoo, my anti-tattooism went from opinion to deeply held conviction!

Think back to 1998, the missy elliott and timbaland sound was as ubiquitous as the Chinese symbol/letters tattoos and black people couldn't get enough of either. She chose (brace yourselves) the quote unquote Chinese symbol for balance because "she's a libra" and i decided then and there only idiots make up ridiculous excuses to stain their skin and i would never be one of them...

Little did i know 9 years later, i would be in the clutches of tattoo GOD and living legend aaron funk, sublimely delighted to have him devirginize my uninked flesh. After unexpectedly losing my thirty five yr old godmother to a cancer she never told anyone about, i decided i wanted an artful piece that would honor our shared passion for mermaids and represent the surreal, strong, secretive, powerful, impenetrable, clairvoyant, serene, inspiring, spiritual, magical woman she was, the kind of woman i can only hope to become. She was a beautiful creature, her presence and wisdom unforgettable but her time here was short, she glimmered and evanesced, half human half myth. Not here, but not gone, always under the surface.

Aaron was amazing. He knew it was my first tattoo and did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and safe, he let me squeeze his leg, he talked me thru the pain trying to distract me when i needed to be distracted and worked in silence when all i wanted to do was scream. he rested his arm between my butt cheeks at one point which was a highlight since i happen to find him devastatingly handsome and smart, he created an original piece after being shown just a few paintings and sketches i brought in, he works fast and the work is breath-taking and stunning, in a class all its own. And he only charged me $250!!

Even though aaron's a well known tattoo Deity, he never made me feel like a girly-girl pansie-wuss for getting a mermaid tattoo. Without knowing anything about my godmother, he was devoted to making the piece beautiful, feminine and ethereal and that's exactly how i feel whenever i look at her in the mirror. Aaron Funk is the best, I already have my next mermaid conjured up for the next visit to southern california. If you want to check out his work, you can at http://www.myspace.com/t… and i suggest calling soon, he's always booked. He knew my girlfriend and i were coming down from nor cal just to see him so he got up on new years day after a night of new years eve partying just to tattoo the both of us all day, what a gem! My girlfriend's tattoo is a virgin mary in black and gray shading, it's insane. Aaron Funk is just a brilliant artist, that's all there is to it.

PS:im still anti chinese symbol/lettering tats unless you know and can speak/write the language, after all my unsuspecting pal could really have 'dumb negro' branded on her back and we'd never know now would we?
