I'm pretty pissed! My husband and I went there today to get matching tattoos (sounds stupid I know) we got our wedding date in Roman numerals and the stencils were exactly the same (my husbands was bigger in size & curved a little because it was going on his chest). Like I said, my stencil looked exactly the same and let me tell you, my tattoo looks NOTHING like the stencil. This I don't understand. My husband's tattoo looks very clean, just like the stencil. Mine on the other hand looks completely freehanded & looks like shit. This is my 5th tattoo so I'm definitely not new to the game. This is my first tattoo since I've moved here (from California) and never again. When I get home I'm getting this shit fixed! The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because they did a good job on my husband's tattoo today & the one he previously got as well. I won't blame the whole place for this one guy's tattoo but this is the rating for MY experience here. Besides my bad tattoo the staff was very friendly.
Review Source:What do you do when you have 2 hours before it's time to return your rental car and jump on a plane back to San Jose from El Paso?
Well if your name is Grace Y. then apparently you get the most out of your rental and drive around aimlessly until you find the closest tattoo  parlor and decide to put a little carpe diem in your life.
As the title states, this is a tattoo parlor full of other...things... They also do piercings, sell little Buddhas, tarot cards, quartz crystals, incense, wind chimes, porcelain figurines, etc. It's quite interesting.
Anyways, as I was perusing through the tattoos, I started talking about piercings with someone who worked there. No pictures, but they say they can pierce anything you want, however you want it. I stare at my reflection in the mirror with my eyes crossed to focus on a sharpie dot on my upper lip to see what it looks like. Hmm, I'm not sure.
Okay! Let's do it!
Twenty bucks for the piercing plus the cost of jewelery, cash only. Done and done. I have plenty of time to regret my decision if I were one to sit around and regret things since the wait took a little while, but whatever...I randomly walked in there and demanded to be seen and I wanted a random piercing for a while, so here it goes.
The guys are chill, talk me up and make me pretty relaxed. I wasn't nervous or scared, but I know from experience that a lot of piercers are jaded about people who are scared and freaking out about the needle. I think I have a minute of regret as I sit around with a needle protruding from my lip, but that passes.
3 days later and it's healing fine and I love it more and more every day. There haven't been any issues with healing and the swelling was only for a few hours after the initial piercing. Score! I'm pleased with the overall ease that I found with Tattoos & Things, and the people were friendly, which is always a plus in my book.
It's probably a good thing I didn't go with a random tattoo...
