I went looking all over town for the "perfect shop" and this one was it , why? because this place is  friendly and has  knowledgeable employees  and  when they knew what i wanted and would do it for the right price.

The owner Gary Gillis is very friendly and  knows when you want a tattoo they are willing to work with you to  make you happy. There staff is very helpful and patient even if you don't know what you want , they have some very talented people working there that  can be very creative.

They also do piercing besides tattoos and sell all sizes and shapes of jewelry for your piercing experience.

If you have to wait a wild for someone they have two very comfortable couches and a TV and a old school soda machine plus plenty of tattoos to look at.

This place is safe and clean(sterile) it is well lighted at night and in a  good area plus they are open till 11pm on Friday and Saturdays so you can come late and get a tattoo, a deposit is required for a drawing and it takes them just a few minutes to get it done.

I have been to Unity several times over the years. They have been in this location for almost 13 years according to Owner, Gary Gillis; the company was established in 1992.

Unity is a reputable shop. The shop is clean, everything done is sterile, of course, and Gary and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable.  There is a large selection of jewelry and pre-designed tattoos to choose from. I have used this shop for tattooing and body piercing, although I won't share the grim details, LOL.  With all of the shops around town though, this is where I continue to return.

The prices are comparable. I wouldn't shop tattoos or piercings based on the cheapest price anyway ... that could be trouble. Yikes! Tattoos are priced based on design of course and there is a minimum charge. Piercing range from about $30 to $90 dependent on the body part being pierced.  It's quick, painless (for the most part), a clean environment, nice staff, good pricing and an easily accessible location. All in all ... excellent!

So what would make it a 5?  I'm not really sure, probably that WOW tattoo, but that's a personal thing between the artist and the client and personally I haven't yet got that tattoo. Maybe one day though ... a girl can dream, right?!

Went to FINALLY get my ears pierced here.

I've had them "done" before. You know, somewhere like Claire's Accessories or The Piercing Pagoda in the mall where they use the piercing gun on you while you hold a teddy bear.

This time no teddy bear and no piercing gun. Just a sterilized needle going through my earlobe which I barely noticed. And no post earrings that stab the side of my neck when I sleep, just simple stainless steel hoops with a cute green cap balls to secure 'em.

The healing time is sooo much faster than mall piercing and the atmosphere at Unity is so much less cringe-inducing!
