Westside Customs Tattoo Studio

So you may be thinking to yourself, "Why would I drive an hour to Joliet to get a tattoo?".  The answer is one word "Chucho".  He is a prolific artist in his own rite and an amazing tattoo artist in his spare time.

I found him by going to several different shops around Chicago inquiring about a specific tattoo I was looking to get.  I think this is a good time to state that not one person I spoke to suggested that they could do what I was looking for but all suggested I need to speak to Chucho, if I wanted it done right.  It seemed bizarre to me that without hesitation all suggested the same person immediately.  

Not only did he do an excellent job for a reasonable price but the shop is very clean and professional.  There are about 4 other artists in there who seemed to do pretty good work.  If I where you and knowing that tattoos are going to be on you for a while I wouldn't f*ck around and go straight to the man.  Whether it be portraits or a more unorthodox piece I think you will be happy with his technique and the atmosphere in the shop as a whole.  

I feel like tattoos artists and surgeons are not the type of people you should be looking for bargains on.  Call me crazy.  Sometimes it is worth taking the extra time and a little bit extra cost to ensure to get what you are looking for.  This shop and that artist will certainly achieve both those results.

The lady is probably getting a piece done this winter and we are definitely heading back.
