I got my first tattoo here about 2 1/2 years ago by Charles. The whole experience was new for me so of course I was freaking out! It was on my ribs and had heard that was a painful place so I was extra nervous. Charles was super cool talking me through everything and letting me know that the pain is mostly in your head. And he was right.. it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was a good experience overall. He told me I looked like Demi Lovato and asked to take a picture with me to tell his daughter he tattooed Demi.. haha so cute :) It was more expensive than what I thought it would be, and what they quoted me though

This place is garbage - PERIOD! Bill is NOT a nice or professional individual. My experience here is the epitomy of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life especially over a permananent piece of art on your body! The terrible tattoo I got was garbage and had ZERO amount of artistic ability. Bill cared less and wanted to argue and bring me to tears than be a stand up professional. He needs to take better care of who he hires as tattoo artists and make sure they are skilled people! Now I'm stuck with an UGLY tattoo that needs to be lasered off. Bill was completely heartless, rude!, jerk and trust me I'm telling the world how terrible his business is. The situation should have been handled with empathy, professionalism, and a better resolution. I was blown away at how heartless this business is when things go awry. Karma ain't no joke and this is not a way to run business. It'll catch up someday. Terrible terrible terrible!

I like this shop. Had two tats done here and both were dope. I love the second one, my favorite out of all of them. Harley did it and he is amazing with color. An old friend went there and I went to and that trip sucked. Service was crap and the tatoo came out really bad. I feel lucky it wasnt me. For the most part all the work Ive seen come out of here was good.

I've gotten two tattoos from here. The first time I went here, was my VERY FIRST TATTOO. I was freshly 18, and scared shitless about getting tattooed. I had a friend come with me for moral support.

We walked in, and of course no one greeted us. As I'm looking at all the flash on the walls etc, some mad creepy dude comes out and finally says hi. I tell him what I want and where (hello tramp stamp).

So I walk in the back and he tells me to pull my pants down (which ok, it's my lower back....I had to pull it down some of the way). Well he requests I pull it down to my knees. I asked if I could at least have my friend come back to hang out, and he mumbled about some rule about that.

45 min later the tattoo was done, and me and my friend got out of there as soon as we could.

The 2nd time I went was with an ex, and the experience was a little better. The tattoo wasn't as nice as I wanted, but I can have my now current tattoo artist touch it up nicely.

i would like to say, i've never had a problem getting work done before coming to this craphole.

I HATED getting tattooed here....honestly....I have 9 tattoo and this was the worst experience I've ever had. -a small heart on my wrist with red color fading into pink....I know it isn't THAT HARD.

The artist was trying to pick me and my friend up while he was tattooing us, unprofessional ~! I'm not a prude, I'm not opposed to joking around but this guy didn't even seem like he was paying attention ("you girls have a boyfriend?",  "Do you like cubby guys?", "I'm from Texas, California sucks, I hate it here")
I don't want to hear your views on life, just effin tattoo me without completely screwing it up...IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK????
....when, after 2 weeks it was healed, the lines were disgusting and the color had a huge gap (instead of fading into pink, it was red, flesh, pink)...I called and asked to have someone else touch it up because I didn't trust this guy....

I went all the way up here when they told me to (Saturday morning)...just to have them tell me that I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER 60.00 BUCKS TO HAVE TO RE-DONE BY SOMEONE ELSE???!!!! I flipped out...do I look stupid?  ~I refused to leave until I talked to bill....Bill agreed to have another artist fix it, but not until Monday night a 6:00pm...pretty sure they were just trying to get rid of me but I wasn't going to let them off the hook that easily. I went back in on Monday, an older looking biker guy and Bill were there....very nice, and friendly BUT when biker tattoo moron went to re-touch the tattoo, I felt his table wobble!!!!

He was trying to re-touch my wrist tattoo by placing my wrist on a table that wobbled.....when holding my wrist REALLY tight..... it was pathetic...I've gotten tattooed at 2 conventions (sac and cow place both places were more enjoyable).....I let him "re-touch" if we can even call it that...and it looks marginally better...I'm going to get the lines re-touched by SOMEONE AT ANOTHER SHOP! ASAP....

This is a sorry ass attempt at being a good tattoo shop....if you like your body, skin etc don't come here....

They did a great job on my husband's labret piercing. Eddy was really nice and professional. We'd return again! The shop was clean, well lit, and they knew what they were doing.

This review is based solely on 2 piercings I got done here a few years back.

The first was my industrial. I had wanted it done for years and had heard nothing but good things about Wild Bills. I checked out the website and saw it would cost about $75. That was more than I was willing to pay but I figured I was getting what I was paying for. I didn't make an appointment and was taken fairly fast. The piercing itself took longer than I expected and Josh(not sure if he still works there) seemed to have a hard time piercing the top hole. I bleed a lot and ended up sitting there for awhile after.

Because my piercing came out exactly the way I wanted and the shop was fairly clean and sterile, I decided to venture back for a second piercing. I was fairly shocked to see that a nose piercing would only cost $20. Now I know why. I don't remember the lady's name but she seemed rushed and in a bad mood. I should have walked out when I realized she was going to pierce my nose with a GUN. But I was young and stupid and didn't want to say "no way, I've changed my mind." Not only did she pierce my nose with a gun, she put an earring in my nose and called it a stud. Even gave me the backing, as if it would fit up my nose. I ended up going home and changing it out to an actual stud.

To be honest, I don't think I will ever go back to Wild Bills. I don't plan on getting any tattoos and since the whole "gun-in-my-nose" incident, I don't trust them to pierce anything on me again.

I needed a "touch up" on my Dragonfly Tattoo for greater detailed definition, as it was on my lower leg and difficult to see the detail.

The tattoo was done at Wild Bill's a few years ago.
(Ledge on the Dragonfly.  I am a Hospice Nurse.)

Artist Charles did the retouch, and I am quite pleased.

"Bill was gracious in allowing the retouch at No Charge".

Everyone working in the shop appeared friendly, and the shop appeared to be clean.

IMPORTANTLY - Sterile needle technics were used in the procedures.

Customer satisfaction appears to  be most important to this shop.

I came into this shop very nervous since I'm a 'needle-phobe' and wanted a nose piercing.

Jeff was the one who pierced my nose.  He was very caring and understaning of the fact that I was really scared and respected that.  He told me when to close my eyes so I wouldn't see the needle and before I knew it, it was over.  That was exactly how I was hoping for this experience to go.

I had to go back the following day since it was bleeding pretty heavily (not anyones fault) and he cleaned it up and told me if it didn't stop to come back in.  Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend this shop to anyone who is considering getting a piercing here. :)  Thanks, Jeff!!!

I went back in on Tuesday to get my second tattoo with Chris Corvi.  This time around I had a quote by the Dalai Lama and my father's name written in Hindi on the back of my shoulder.

I originally went in with a different design of the tattoo and Chris spent about 30-45 minutes assisting me with how the original tattoo design would look (it was a much smaller script) if it were completed.  He informed me that because of the size of the script and detail, it would turn out blurry over time if I were to proceed.  I appreciated that he provided this feedback and advising me with the best possible route to take with the tattoo, as this design means a lot to me.

I chose a shorter quote (I had originally wanted to get) to use and we blew it up to a size that would still look nice on my shoulder, but would not get blurry over time.  The end result turned out great!

Healing process has been a breeze...he did a great job overall, AGAIN!!

2 years since my first review of this place and the shading on my tattoo is barely there and it looks like shit. It's embarrassing. I could have had some Ese do a better job in prison without the proper tools or training. I paid more for this tattoo than any subsequent work I have had done, and the "cheaper stuff" looks better.

I have been here for all 3 of my tattoos and my mom has had every one of her 20 (I think?) tattoos done here, and we are both pretty happy.  Josh is her guy, and he has done one of mine.  He is amazing, she has some of the most unique tattoos I have ever seen!  Kim did the tattoos on the back of our necks, a birthday present from me to my mom (we got matching tattoos since we have the same birthday).  She is a sweetheart and very patient!  I am not a huge fan of pain and most of the people there are pretty nice about it, as long as your not a big whiner! :)

The only big issue I have with this place was during my most recent trip here, in February.  I am not an artist, and don't think I am qualified to design a tattoo that will be on my body forever.  I came here with an appointment with Tyson, who was not there (not sure why) and they tried dumping me off on some guy from another tattoo shop!  He didnt even know where any of the equipment was!  I was freaked out and told him I would rather not get a tattoo then have him do it!  I need to trust the person and know what their work looks like!  He didn't even speak 100% clear English!  So I left and Scott, who was tattooing my mom, offered to do mine and he was great!  Very gentle, very nice, very accomodating.  I was about to give up after Bill told me to draw my tattoo myself!  I had taken a picture of a tattoo I liked and I wanted something along those lines, but with a personal twist on it and thats what I trust the tattoo artists to do.  In the past this has never been a problem.  Bill yelled at me and made me draw something...I can't draw a stick figure to save my life!  He was incredibly rude and if it weren't for the amazing tattoo artists he hires I would never go back.  His own tattoo artists don't even like him, they constantly tell us to ignore whatever he says as they claim he is "a dick"...which everyone agrees with!  This is the only reason I can't give them 5 stars!  The artists themselves though...5 stars!!!

Myke is great.  After seeing Wild Bill's Tattoos on everyone I met. I went to to get one of my first tattoos i had done covered up.
Myke sat down with me one to one and explained precisely how he'd go about doing it. From tracing and photographing my old tat. Then drawing a design and stenciling it on me then he just started drawing the rest of the design right on my skin with a marker.
After my appointment I wasn't even able to see the old tattoo. Just a really nice koi fish with flowers and waves. The colors are so bright too.
I always thought i would have to live with the mistake i made with the old tat, but the work he did is so amazing  I've already started talking to him about the Dragon tattoo I want to get and made a appointment with him at the end of the month to started with it.
Myke is the best. I Know I have found the artist I'm going to stick with.
    FIVE STARS...

I've gotten two tattoos from Wild Bill's, one on my lower back in 2005 and one on the back of my neck about a year ago. I haven't had a bad experience with them, but I don't think I would go back to them either. My first tattoo is great and the lady who did it was very nice and made me feel comfortable. My second tattoo was much smaller than the first and took less time, but cost only $30 less, which kind of erked me. I wouldn't go back because they're expensive and when you walk in, nobody seems like they want to help you. They seem like they have the 'I have better things to do' attitude.

i got a clover (very basic & my 4th tat) but do not love it.  The stem of the clover does not go well with the rest of the design.  I agree with the other reviews about the staff and the attitudes.  I did feel like I was wasting their time as I asked questions.  My other tattoo's were done in SF and Sac... I had much better experience there.

WILD BILL'S TATTOO SHOP ROCKS !!!  it's not like any other tattoo shop I've ever been to.  I've had other tattoos before, at places with 5 chairs and strange men looking at you while you are getting tattooed.  My experience at Wild Bill's changed my whole perception on getting tattooed.
There all the men tattoo on one side of the building and there is a separate private large room where all the girls work. They even have their own waiting room. That made it so much more comfortable and easier for me to relax while getting tattooed.
Well It all started with a consultation. After looking through ten different artist portfolios I picked Kim as my artist.
Basically you let her know what you want, what you don't want, etc.  She will take your ideas and work with you on making it perfect, She even worked with me via email!  How awesome!  Next, you set up and appointment and get your tattoo!
We talked and laughed the entire time she was working on me.
I have to mention that Kim does fantastic work, and she is fast!  I thought I would be there for at least 1 hour, nope I was wrong, it was done in 45 minutes!
Bottom line, if you are thinking about getting a tattoo, go to Wild Bill's. Kim won't disappoint!

I got my refund in the mail along with a note from Bill asking to remove my Yelp review. Honestly if you can't take criticism, just don't even read it. My review is 100% accurate and I will post pics of my crappy tattoo to prove it. Not only did my tattoo suck like no other but my two friends also had botched tattoos from Bills. I went to at least 10 other tattoo studios in San Francisco and all the artists agree that Bill's tattoo shop did a horrific job. My friends with tattoos told me they've never had a tattoo heal that badly before. Thankfully I now am a bit more informed about tattoos and the three of us went and got them fixed at various places in the Bay Area.

Bill also promised a FULL refund but the check I received was $10 short. I don't really care that it's $10 short, but you shouldn't make promises you can't keep. I'm glad I got my money back and I hope to never deal with this unprofessional business again!

Friendly, not over priced, and they've done the King's tattoos. My best friend and I got matching tattoo's like 3 years, and it was a good experience.

They also pierced my nose. And did a fine job. I have no complaints.

All the artist have done great work for me over the years (especially Tyson), but after my last visit about 6 months ago when Bill was around (which was my first encounter with Bill), he was yelling and cursing all through out the place.  He came in and threw the phone down and started yelling "no I'm not going to stop asking".  I don't know what his deal was,  maybe he was drunk or something.  It was completely unprofessional.  I know its a tattoo parlor and all and I don't know the whole situation, but no matter what, you don't show customers that side of you!

First of all, it's in Old Roseville by the train tracks.
Secondly, it is upstairs in what looks like an abandoned dentists office hijacked by Hell's Angels.
Thirdly, you had better know exactly what you want or else you will get a whole lot of attitude for wasting the dude's time.

Their tattoo books were not impressive. Very old school dungeons and dragons. I'm sure they do well with biker guys and girls who could care less about creativity or accuracy, but for the younger generation there are so many better options. Like the girl that got the three jacked up stars on her wrist, my sister got a shooting star set on her hip and they are crooked and odd looking (looks like she could have gotten that tattoo in prison.)

please drive a little further to downtown or nevada city if you want a quality tattoo.

I had a terrible experience at Wild Bill's, and would discourage anyone from going there EVER.  I have 13 tattoos, and the tattoo I got there was my most visible one (on my wrist).  To be honest, I'd been warned for years never to go there, but it is convenient to my home, and they have good hours, so I wanted to check them out.  How could they be that bad, if they'd won all those local awards?  Trust me, they are that bad.

I got the tattoo in November 2006.  I went in wanting 1 star on my inner wrist, and the tattoo artist I saw thought that was dull, and came up with a cool 3 star design for me which I liked.  He did the tattooing, and did shading on all 3 stars.  I had seen his work on their website, and knew he was capable of doing a great job; he had some great work posted.  However, he did not do a great job on  my tattoo.  He shaded one of the stars, the biggest middle one, so dark that one entire point was pure black, with no gradation into the pink color of the rest of the star.  Then he added some shading around the stars that was uneven and I hated.

After the tattoo healed, the green star was an ugly off-yellow color, the outside shading around the stars looked awful, and the middle, largest star, looked very bad.  I went back to the same artist, although I was unhappy with him, because the "correction" would be free.  Well, the green star did come out a bit better, the shading of the large star couldn't really be fixed, and I asked him to go over the outside shading with white to tone it down, because I didn't like it.  He agreed to that, and next thing I knew he was using black to make the outside shading darker!  I couldn't believe it!  He just said "whoops", and that was it.  This was in February of 2007.  After THAT healed, it still looked terrible.  Plus now the outline of 1 star was thin, and the other two had thick lines.

I finally went to Fallen Angel on Auburn Blvd, and they basically redid the whole thing, fixing the shading issues the best they could.  This was about a year ago now.  They did a good job.

I hated this tattoo for a long time, and felt very bitter about the degree to which the artist at Wild Bill's didn't care about doing a good job.  I would NEVER go there again, and would warn anyone against going there.

For the best tattoos my husband and I haven gotten, I would recommend Bill Henderson at Folsom City Ink!

HUGE ATTITUDES at this shop!  Bill was a jerk didn't even look up or greet me as I entered the door.  I was tattooed by Harley.  He was young, arrogant and charged top dollar.  The money didn't bother me the total lack of professionalism did.  His work wasn't that great his colors faded rather quickly.

Went here to get a couple of kanji symbols on my wrist.  They were busy, but the available artist was happy to squeeze me in before his appointment arrived.  Did a good job, was friendly, gave me a discount, and most importantly...It was clean!
I am going to go back there when I decide what I want to do next.
