I wanted to thank Logan for my first tattoo. The design is much better than I imagined it would. The shop is well managed and has a nice lowkey feel, which was comforting especially for my first time getting a tattoo. I'll definitely come back to get a tattoo from 434 Tattoo the next time I'm on the island.
Review Source:Adam is clearly a serious artist. He is also most authentic and welcoming. Â He really listened to what I wanted, then patiently helped me to select the details. He didn't hurry me, or steer me. He made sure that design, size, color and placement were truly my vision. Then he took over! His lines are thin like fine Asian art. His facility with his colors shows that he really is a master of his tools. Â I have to say that of all my tattoos, this one looked best right away. A little sore of course, but amazingly little soreness! Â No swelling,, no scabbing. If you need to travel with your new Hawaii tat GET it HERE!
I will get more art from this shop. Â Added note, everyone cool, from grandma, to bikers, to tourists will feel welcomed. :-)
Everyone that works there is very nice and genuine. I was expecting the usual from the mainland but they are not like that. Their $50 couples coupon is wonderful and other than that I got quotes on other pieces and they were very reasonably priced! Lionz tattooed my husband and I and he was really nice to chat with.
Review Source:Both my husband and I have numerous pieces done by Adam. His professionalism and artistic ability is brilliant. A very clean and sanitary studio with  a serious attitude for customer satisfaction. If your looking for a unique custom piece, which will not be like any other, Adam is the guy to talk to . With a consultation beforhand, you can express your ideas to him so he can create that custom piece you have in your head. We are two very satisfied repeat customers who have beautiful, vibrant colored custom designs that people always ask  where we had them done. Will be back soon
Review Source:Recently hooked up with 19 year veteran tattoo artist (Lions) and had him do a chest piece for me. An absolutely awesome open minded guy who from what I've seen and heard does great work with the ink gun. What I first really liked about this place is walking in and everyone is friendly. It makes the experience even better knowing that the artists are genuinely interested in what you want to have done and are ready and willing to accommodate each and everyone of their customers. Â Lions actually did the outline on my piece and then suggested I come back later and finish it. I wasn't sure about this because I'm so used to getting a piece done in one session. I left and came back a half an hour later. Lions was already working on another client, but offered to finish my piece that night and did so after having finished up with his other client. I am impressed with his talent and will certainly go back to him again for future body work.
Review Source:Got my tattoo from shop owner, Adam. LOVED the work that he produced with the designs I wanted, he is with out a doubt a talented tattoo artist and guarantees life time touch ups!
That being said, he himself was not very engaging as a person and had he brat a$$ kids running around that shop, which was a HUGE scare for me because on punk move from the kid and my tattoo would have been a mess. Also he has his lame wife awkwardly around, not controlling her kid. I wanted to discipline to kid until my tattoo was finished, but then they should pay me~!
My wife and I walked in with no appointment on the last day of our honeymoon and they sat us down right there. Adam did mine. I'm a long time graffiti artist and wanted something graffiti based. I wanted it to look like a fresh maker tag and it came out perfect!!! We talked about old school graff times and before long I felt like I grew up with him. Adam is dope. I ended up getting a train from him and I did one for him to put up in his shop. Huge recommendation!!!!!!!
My wife went to Andy and this is from her
Thank you to Andy. He is a great artist and a good listener. He did exactly what I wanted which was our wedding date with a lotus flower. The shading is gorgeous and it's very feminine and pretty. He was quick and thorough. My husband and I are very pleased with our tattoos and would recommend this shop to anybody.
I purchased the deal and had a BAD experience. The place is small and dirty. When I went in to make my appointment there was this loud mouth girl with her toddler that apparently worked there letting her kid go around the tattoo stations while 2 people were in the chairs getting tats (so unprofessional). I was glad she wasn't there the following day when I went in. With a loud erking voice like hers one slip of the hand could really mess up a piece. I didn't get any consultation and felt rushed. It was just show me what you want, did a REAL basic sketch and told me not to worry about the details. I told them I wanted a REALISTIC piece and not for it to look cartoony. When it healed it's still BAD and very cartoony looking. I had to get it fixed elsewhere and that tattoo artist even told me it was really amateur work, the lines were not solid and no attention to detail and no texture to the piece.
Review Source:Had a living social for a consultation and 1 hr of tattoo. Talked to Carl about a tattoo I wanted to retouch, he told me I could add more to my tattoo to make the most of my livingsocial deal because he said the touch up wasnt going to take very long. my tattoo ended up taking over 2 hrs and at the end he was like your total is $198. not including the hour i had already paid for. what kind of bullshit is this? and the tattoo isnt even what how i wanted it. i really hope it fades away because he overpowered what i already had there. im taking legal action against this. we never talked about $198. i came in a week prior and told him i had a living social. all i wanted was a touch up, he insisted on adding stuff without telling me he was going to charge me $198 for a tattoo im not even happy with.
i feel scammed and i totally regret going to this place! im not a bad person i dont do bad things. the only bad thing i did was go to a bad tattoo artist.
I've toyed with the idea for quite a while to sleeve up my right arm. My issue is, I can't make recurring visits to the same artist and shop because I'm always on the go... and there's the other issue. Finding a shop that's willing to clear a schedule for a 5-hour session with very little notice.
I found 434 Tattoo the night before the inaugural North Shore Marathon, trying to carb up for the race at Duo Devino. I stuck my head in and talked to one of the guys, but even at 9 pm, the shop was busy. Several days later, I lucked out and talked to Marko Livingston. I had no clue what this guy is about, but, I pitched my idea, sent him a few sample photos and told him to run with it. Several days later, we're talking about how he tattooed T-Pain, while watching graffiti vids. All the while, people were poking their heads in, checking the place out.
The shop is pretty up front - enough to fit 2 artists with sitting customers. 434 Ena is a decent walk from the strip, so you'd definitely have to look this place up. I had the pleasure of talking to Adam, Andy and Marko. They're all pretty chill, as tattoo artists should be, with plenty of stories to keep your mind off that needle digging into your arm! Marko worked fast and light. I've had several artists that had heavy hands and felt like they were beating the shit out of you when they moved around!
This will definitely be a must-stop for my next trip to Oahu... maybe after the Honolulu Marathon...
No longer a 40 year old virgin thanks to Adam! Â He was incredibly nice, professional, and not pretentious like some other places I visited. Â I am so happy I did my research and picked Adam. Â
He was quick and detailed, giving me exactly what I wanted. Â Even my perfectionist husband was impressed and wanted Adam to ink him. Â The price was very reasonable, the place clean. Â Parking was easy. Â
Seriously, I can't wait for my next one. Â
Adam is my guy! Â Highly recommend him. Â Check out his website, and go and meet him. Â You won't be disappointed!
