Apparition Ink

I would like to DOUBLE the 5 star rating.
The shop is ridiculously clean which is very reassuring.
Jared's work is not only beautiful, but  incredibly meticulous...you don't leave the shop until you AND he are ecstatic with the end product.
I just moved back from the Pacific Northwest and didn't see anything even close to comparable to Jared's work.

Be sure to set up a consultation...it saves a lot of time in the long run.

After much local research I finally decided on Apparition (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.apparitionink.com&s=fba884a8ca68469a94dce105fcfef656625e67635dd3d0b7c53b9c12b29754c1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.apparitionink…</a>) for my tattoo.  The shop is owned by Jared, who is an amazing artist.  His time is booked about 2-3 months in advance--he's that good.  I decided to go with Clark, Jared's apprentice, for my concept.  He graduated from art school and has the perfect attitude (IMHO).  I met some of the other artists there, but I really clicked with Clark.  He's crazy about hygiene and very open to what you want and who is best to handle it.  There's very little ego at Apparition--they're just deadly serious about tattooing.

My upper left arm is now covered with the Yelp logo.  HAHAHAHA--not.  It's an image of a unicorn riding a dolphin while it taps a keg.  It's complex, like me.

If you want a drunken flash-style tatt then there are plenty of joints on State St. to handle that decision.  I can't imagine handing my skin over to someone I wouldn't want to have a beer with though.  Apparition has a great non-scary space.  You will not feel intimidated or turned-off by the place.  Alchemy Coffee is next door if you need sustenance while you bleed out.
