Such an amazing experience! Lindsey gave his honest opinion and helped me get the perfect tattoos. He was very patient, very thorough. I was nervous but he made me feel so comfortable and he was funny! What a great atmosphere. I will be back, for sure! Gorgeous artwork by Lindsey all around the shop, too. Review Source:The other reviews on here are really shocking to me. Â I did not have the experience of the other yelpers; maybe because an artist other than Johnson was doing the actual piece... I don't know. Â My first session was in February 2012, I was getting my side piece started (top of hip to lower ribs, so I was there for 3 hours). Â My artist had great table side manners and was really attentive to my comfort level. Â Frankly, the physical pain was secondary.
I was the only customer in the shop I didn't get a say in the atmosphere at all (which really isn't unusual but it's contrary to other experiences here), Johnson and his friends were hanging out eating Thai food and had to talk over the loud music. Â If the phone rang my artist had to put her machine down and answer. Â It was ridiculous.
I explicitly requested my second appointment take place when he was gone.
I'm not saying he isn't nice, I'm not saying he isn't talented but I'd never go back.
Best Tattoo shop I have ever been to. Super cool atmosphere with art all over the walls. Very clean and organized. The artist are professionals and ask you what you want. Not what the constraints of flash art you want. They are always including the clients in group photo shoots and having art shows. The tattoo shop is evolving into something much more than a tattoo shop. Its a community.
Review Source:I love the vibe of this place. Â Rather than you typical tattoo studio (too loud, way too much metal, people who sit outside and chain smoke etc.), Beyond The Ink mellows out the experience to an actual enjoyable one. Â Now, before anyone goes off on me saying how dare I call out other tattoo shops, just know that I'm completely covered in tattoos. Â I can justly form an opinion on the "vibe" of many shops. Â
Beyond The Ink is small, only a few artists working out of it, and the focus on the walls is actual ART and not just flash designs. Â The art is created by the tattoo artists themselves and the framing of the pieces is top notch. Â
I get tattooed by Justin, and he has always done me right. Â I've known him since before he was a tattoo artist, as I used to cut hair for him when he was just a struggling musician trying to tour as much as possible. Â It's nice to see him with an actual career that he'll be able to carry out for as long as he'd like to. Â He's a dedicated individual and I honestly don't know a harder worker out there than him. Â He's got a great eye for fine line art, and enjoys doing pieces on people that he can free-hand onto your skin, rather than stenciling.
Both artists here are super nice and do awesome work! Lindsey does great work. He is always going to do anything in his power to make sure you come out of here with a gorgeous piece that you will be proud to show off! He has done several pieces on me, and I love every one of them.
The other guy, Justin, that work here also does beautiful work. My good friend is getting a back piece from him and it is already a great piece.
I will definitely be a return customer here because of the welcoming atmosphere an awesome work!
